Minty's owners called me today with an update on her progress - she is in good health although the vet has confirmed that she is deaf - she has lost a little weight and her nails have been clipped back - sh has met her new sister and they are getting on fine - Minty has clearly re-established herself as top dog in the house - her owners are delighted to have her home and said that she has clearly been cared for well in her absence ( just not had enough exercise)

Owners have promised a donation which will help in the daily running of the website so massive thanks to them for that - I have requested that a photo could accompany their cheque so that everyone can see her back home again :-) :-)

Well what lovely news to go to bed on! This and Tweeds success stories should be held in triumph to the power of microchipping ! If only vet's would appreciate the power of scanning! ....and Angus....you just keep making your magic! The Doglost Team have moved mountains while I've been away!

What fantastic news for Minty's family after all this time - and such a different looking girl too! WELL DONE Angus and the kennels and WELL DONE too to Minty's owners for having her chipped in the first place. Welcome home little lady! :) x
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
What a lovely ending, well done Angus and kennels. Just goes to show that by sharing chip details with Doglost works. The number of times we are told the details are out of date, owner can't be traced, oh yes they can!!!
DogLostAngus
I think the brown is actually a fault in the lense on my camera - her tail is actually see - through there on the larger image - if you look at the reeze lock on the wall you can see the joint through her tail
Shereen
Ive just noticed the brown on her tail as well..she is so different......
angi

I have uploaded into box 2 a picture of Minty yesterday - once again reinforces the use of microchips in dogs - Minty had been missing 3 years - she was in a neighboring county and an elderly dog - this could have been a very different story - Forest Lodge have been brilliant working with us over the last 3 years - long may it continue x
Ellie
Brilliant! Welcome home Minty and well done Angus!
DogLostAngus
Brilliant - thanks for the text Lankeela, I am going to add the picture in box 2 of the podgy dog from the kennels :-)
Lankeela
Just spoken to owner and Minty is back home and settled in. She has met their new Heeler(!) and they seem to be getting on fine. She is very overweight but that should soon improve once she gets back in the swing of things. Look foward to seeing her in the blue.

fantastic news angus. bet you could'nt believe it! bet her owners are over the moon after all this time.
DogLostAngus
Minty was microchipped but kennels had been unable to reach owners over the weekend, a conversation between myself & the kennels owner led to this reunion - I knew that the Heeler rescue would step in and offer space so asked for more info on the found dog - agune my joy when I read the paperwork and saw Minty and owners details on the page - the kennels were fab and let me make the call to the owners who were a little shocked after all this time - it is clear that Minty has not been walked that much - she is a little barrel and her claws are long - she will be going home tomorrow all things being equal.
So chuffed - days like this make everything we do SO worthwhile xx

Thats a shame,i hope the found dog s owners find it in time!!! i did notice after posting that there was quite an age difference, but some dogs teeth look good for thier  years, and some young dogs teeth can look beyond thier years,I will keep looking.xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Shereen - I have spoken with the warden - Dolly is not a match for Minty - the markings although close are not a match and she was admitted before Minty went missing - Good spot though xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just uploading an actual picture of Minty - owners are eldery and have no internet access but friends have been and scanned in picture and sent over today - she does look very different from the similar dog. This is the information that I managed to google last night re location, there are 2 villages Great Wolford & Little Wolford, the info re that car has come to owner via a 3rd party so sorry I do not have any more detail even like a colour for the car. nestled in the rolling hills of the north Cotswolds between Chipping Norton in the south, Shipston-on-Stour in the north and Moreton-in-Marsh in the west. If you enter from the Four Shires Stone* they are the first villages in Warwickshire.

I have spoken with the owners tonight - there is no actual picture of her as yet - even the one at the petrol station, she is quite a stocky heeler and owners are trying to get someone to photograph a picture and send to me via mobile phone. They have had some information that she may have been picked up by a lady in a car and taken to WOLFORD, please look out for her in this area.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Lankeela, I have seen the poster in the poly pocket that the owner has put up in the Bloxham petrol station and it does not look very like the similar photo that is on this dogs post. I am happy to put up posters to try and find this poor mite as it is extremely cold again tonight.I don't need a Lancashire Heeler website link thanks anyway. Lets hope the dog comes home soonLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just spoken to the owner, no news as yet, loads of poster put up and contacted vets, kennels, etc.  I will put details on our Heeler group and we have a club show on Sunday so will let people know there.  Apparently the owner's husband has animals that he goes to see to, and she mooches about or he puts her in a barn while he is busy.  He went to get her and she was not there, but he cannot be 100% sure she was in there when he closed the door.  Fingers crossed she makes her way home soon or someone finds her.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Don't mean to disagree, but I have a Lancashire Heeler that looks just like this one!  Have a look on our club website, you will see loads of different types, http://www.lancashireheelers.org/  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi there ...How coincidental as I have just seen a poster of this missing dog in the petrol station in Bloxham near Banbury. Photo quite different from a pure bred Lancashire Heeler. Photo from the animal finders website could be uploaded if the same dog maybe that may help as more accurate ...? There are a lot of the travelling community around at the moment moving towards Stow Fair. This takes place in early April even still poster like mad contact Heythrop Hunt too as they cover a huge area. Banbury Cake and Oxford mail may do a story for them? Good luck I drive to Banbury every other day so will keep a look out. Do you need posters put anywhere?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
