I know this is a long shot but I have just had to photograph a black GSD male for GSDRUK he was found as a stray in the Coventry area of West Midlands and brought in by the dog warden. He is large, but thin, and very nervous, but friendly, does not like going through door ways for some reason. He is under www.germanshepherddogrescue.co.uk on their urgent pages called Wolfie does have light brown patches on his back. Not know if microchipped but I have know the authorities to miss chip details from personal experience. Will try to get a scanner up to the kennels to check, along way from home but you never know.

Max's owner has checked this GSD out and it is not Max.  The search goes on.  Fingers crossed for more sightings soon.  Good luck.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

13.05 p.m.  Just spoken to Halewood RSPCA and they have a black GSD picked up on 2nd March, no microchip found.  I'll alert Max's owner just incase it is Max.  Would be great if it was.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi all, sorry for not replying about the black shepherd with the white chest, ive been having big problems with my internet.  The shepherd i saw in Mill Lane, Wallasey was actually with somebody, but i just wanted to make sure that it was their dog and that it wasnt Max and he'd somehow ended up on this side of the river instead.  Really glad to see that there have been sightings of Max, fingers crossed that he is returned to his owner soon. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So hoping you get Max home real soon. The sightings and the kids feeding him are very positive. Hang in there. Hurry home Max. We are all worried about you. Stay safe buddy. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Great there have been more sightings of Max.  Thank you so much Digsy for updating us and alerting his owner when sighted.  I used to work right opposite the Marina on Sefton St, if possible try and put a poster in the Garage if it is still there it always used to be very busy. Warlord it is a very frustrating time for you but it is only a matter of time and you will eventually see him.  Ensure you are marking all sightings on a map to see if he is forming a pattern of movements.  We are all willing for him to be home soon.  Jan x Bumped due to recent sightings.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't find him last night. Have you put any posters up around the marina? I'll try and pop some up around Otterspool prom in case he's headed up this end.

thanks digsy for updating. we were out till 2 this morning trying to find him and also had no joy, it seems everyone else has seen him except us and its highly frustrating. being carless at the moment doesn't help either, as by the time we get anywhere he's been sighted, he could have gone miles xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I think we may have spotted him at about 22:30 by the Coburg pub on Sefton Street. He ran into the Anchorage by the marina but he wouldn't stop for us. We lost him and had a good look round but no joy. We've just given the owner a call. Good luck!

10.30 a.m.  Spoken to owner this morning and there have been lots of sightings in the Sefton Park area, children from a local school have been feeding him, which is brilliant.  People have tried to catch him but he has run off.  Family have been searching the area and are going over there now.  I've given owner advice on what to do if they see him and places to contact to leave details where he could possibly be hiding up.  Lots of people are now looking out for him.   Have emailed Scenting Instructions and updated various size posters to owner.  Fingers crossed he is home soon. Jan x If sighted please do not approach but contact  number of poster.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

received a phone call this morning saying that a black german shepherd had been spotted in sefton park (alocal park in our area) twice the latest sighting being yesterday. have just spent the last 3 hours roaming the park but no joy, until we came across a group of dog walkers who instantly knew what i wanted as i approached them. now it is max so at least he's still alive they said they've seen him at the same place, were we used to take him, at the same time around 5pm, his meal time, plus a woman who works in the aigburth animal rescue has also seen him as she lives opposite the park. will be going back down the park at half 4 to search again Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have posted the black gsd with white chest seen 15/02 Mill Lane (see Woody's Mum post below) as SIGHTED. Does Max's owner or Woody's Mum know if that one is still on the run? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, does Max have any white markings on him anywhere?  Im only asking as I noticed a large, black german shepherd in Mill Lane in Wallasey earlier tonight that I havent seen around here before, but this one had a white blaze on his chest.  I'll keep a lookout for him as I walk my dog around that way most nights.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Goldenfrodo I've spoken to owner this morning, Max has gone missing from their home while they were out.  Strangely when they returned home their front door was open and Max was found missing, nothing else has been taken.  They have contacted all the right people and reported him to the Chip Co.  Photo/s are being sent by mobile and email a.s.a.p.  Once photo/s are uploaded I'll do various size posters, also email owner further advice/info.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
