Sadly Police have said that they are unable to trace the phone number of the caller, so I cant follow that up.  I will keep on postering in local areas as I think the caller was trying to put me off the scent by saying Southampton!

HI i am very sorry to hear about your jack being missing. Sadly sometimes really odd and cruel people ring up and say awful things when they see your posters and not all of them are true, we even received calls even when our dog was safely home so i changed my phone number. So while I totally understand your concern about this call remember it may not be true. You are doing the right thing trying to eliminate it, and notifying the police but also focus on what you are doing postering scenting etc in your area. You will get great help from Doglost we got our JRT back. Take care I understand how awful this is.

Given owner advice this morning. If finder has not reported this dog as a found one to the dog warden it is a criminal offence.

Had another call today from same person saying that Jack has been taken by people down to  Southampton, but he would not give me any more details than that.  I have got in contact with Surrey police again who are now taking this seriously and are going to get in contact with Southampton Police.

Had message on my phone today (from a witheld number) saying that Jack was found running in the road and that people have taken him to Southampton to keep.  I am so angry that I didnt catch the call so that I could find out who took him.  Ive contacted my telephone providers to see if the can trace the caller, to which they said they couldnt.  So ive contacted Surrey Police who are going to contact my telephone provider to see if they can get the information for me.  Im absolutely worried sick!!!

Sadly its not my Jack.  I've managed to find more photos on an old mobile phone and have just emailed them to you.  Shows Jack more clearly.

Cross ref Found dog 22173. Difficult to see all markings as your photo of Jack shows him wearing a red coat but have a look at found dog as it might be him ...? worth a look so that you can eliminate this chap if not ?

22173 states a docked tail - cant see very well on picture but looks a full tail although deatils not on site as to the length. Maybe owner would update as much info as possible to help with any matches.  CJ

The only photos I have are with him in outfits.  I wish now i'd taken them without.  His tail is all white.  Most of his body is white with the black patches on the top of his back.  I will get in contact with the Safer Neighbourhood Team.

Has anyone contacted the Safer Neighbourhood Teams? The local PCSO'S -Police Community Support Offivers go out on patrols nd have sighted dogs before. Look it up on the net and find the local teams. They are very helpful.

Jack went missing after someone used our sidegate and did not close it after themselves.  We have put posters everywhere and are in regular contact with Spelthornes Dog warden.  We have also notified local Vets and Dog homes.
