So pleased your wee brown dog has been found. We also have a border and they are such a dear little dog. I'm saddened you have been through this experience. Hope both he and you are now recovering.

Excelent news about Taff,Shocking news about the con men ringing about rewards this must happen so much it must be too easy to play on peoples emotions at a time like this.Welcome home Taff.xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Wonderful news that Taff is safely home. Welcome back.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Em
He was picked up by the dog warden in Harlow this morning. As the warden agreed, he has not been living rough for a week or wandered that far!! so definitely had 'help' getting to where he ended up.
Quick warning - since his return I've had 2 more phone calls from men claiming to have my dog.  So please NOBODY hand over any money to anyone without seeing your dog first!  They tried this on with me - leave the cash somewhere and we'll leave the dog somewhere else. They try all sorts of emotional blackmail about your dog being used to train fighting pit bulls etc and it is tough but please be strong, they will keep doing it as long as people keep leaving cash.
Thanks to everyone who was looking out for him, and especially to Jo for all your fantastic advice and support.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I did actually turn the fence off yesterday evening when it was clear he was no longer inside the boundary.

Sorry to see Taff is missing Em. I'll be sending you an email shortly with some useful info etc. Can't stress enough how important postering the local area is, the more eyes looking for him the better! As Yasa has said, posters can be printed from his page here and also I can do some leaflets for you for handing out etc if you would like. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It might be worth turning your freedom Fence off. If your dog was chasing something or running he could well have gone through the fence in the heat of the chase but not be able to return through it again when he is no longer caught up in the chase. I know someone whose dog did just that - chased a rabbit straight through the fence but was to scaed to return back through it when the thrill of the chase had worn off.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Taff was in my yard at Glenwood Farm, Pedlars End, Moreton, Ongar, Essex CM5 0LW and went missing sometime between 1 and 3pm on Wednesday.  My property is surrounded by Freedom Fence and he was wearing his FF collar with new batteries in so I know it was working.

Well done Em for registering and uploading the photo of Taff. I have now updated the details and included the postcode. A poster can be viewed and printed from his page by clicking on DOG POSTER 1 above the dog detail boxes, left hand side. You need to be registered and logged in to do this. Perhaps you would like to leave a comment by clicking on the small blue cross above where these comments are. Do tell us more about how he has gone missing and exactly where from, until a co-ordinator can contact you. Hundreds of posters are needed as soon as possible, both in area of loss, and everywhere that lots of people go, such as local pubs, shops, garages, etc. I do hope Taff is home soon.
