Further to my posts on Facebook with regards to me spotting a dog identical to Skye on Tadley common back in March, I will be leafleting all the houses on the common in the immediate area tomorrow whislt i am leafleting for my work place. The story to this was I was walking my own dog on the common (enclosed by a fence and only exits via cattle grids, when I spotted a dog curled up in the undergrown, I had to run home with my dog and ran back with a spare lead, but the dog had gone, I continued looking for the next week, but no luck. I phoned the local vets on the day (GP vets Tadley) but they had no reports of a lost dog but said they would speak to the dog warden, I searched on the internet high and low but couldnt find any reference to a lost dog. As the common is enclosed there may be a chance that someone picked her up

Hi. I posted a sighting of a dog today in Tadley, after which I was told to look at Skye. I believe it wasn't Skye that I saw due to the long fur on the tail, and this dog today seemed a lot lighter in colour. Her ears were also drop style, not rose or semi erect.
I'm sorry.
EDIT: I have just read an earlier post when there was a possible sighting near AWE. The dog I saw today was heading in that direction, but I lost sight of her when she entered into the wooded area near the big roundabout at Calleva Park business estate.
Please don't give up hope.Last edited: 2011-06-23 18:02:20 by Contented Canines

I often think about Skye and wonder where she could have got to so this sighting is definetely promising and gives her owner hope at long last. I will look out for her when I'm over that way and will pass the message on friends.

Skyes owner has gone back home to Dorset shes desperate to get her girl back, please if there are any helpers willing to go out and keep postering around the Calcot/Burfield area it would be very appreciated.ThanksLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I noticed while putting posters up for missing Tete that the posters in Prospect Park have gone and also the one's at Sulham Wood ( the main entrance) have also gone - I didn't have any for Skye otherwise I would have replaced them. The Vets in Tilehurst and Valley vets still have her poster up and when I was there a few days ago I confirmed that she was still missing. I'm presuming there have been no further sightings!Last edited: 2010-04-22 16:53:50 by LYDNSYD

If you haven't already done so, a good place to poster is at Burghfield Mill as it is popular with the public and people can camp there? Have there been any more sightings?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It might be a good idea to put Skye on the National Missing Pet Register. Also  I think the forecast is for rain and I noticed that some of the posters I have seen have been put into the plastic sleeves with the open bit at the top instead of the other way around and the rain will spoil them. I have turned a couple around and will continue to do so as I see them. Perhaps if anyone else sees them they can help by doing the same.  I know this is a very busy time for you at the moment.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, Been out with my two dogs earlier. Just got back from Prospect Park as hoped she may be around after all the football games are finished. Sadly, no sightings!! Saw posters at Sulham this morning when out walking with a friend. He will be on the look out too. Hopefully Skye will be home soon. Siobhan  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Really good to get some sightings of Skye at least it gives you some areas to go by. I spoke to your daughter while she was putting up posters at Sulham Woods and she very kindly took one of the flyers I had for Mr Sniffer (JRT)  I was thinking - what about getting flyers done roughly the same size and going to the supermarkets and putting them on car windscreen in the car parks also in the past another missing dog owner has painted some small boards and put their missing dogs details on it and erected them on the grass by the road side - I seem to recall that it was the signs that got his dog back. I think it could be a good idea for us to do the same for Mr. Sniffer as this will target a wide range of people and spread the word further. I know Shereen has taken some of Skyes poster to do at the same time as Mr Sniffers so if you decide to do the flyers perhaps we could all do both at the same time. Pubs are also a good place to leave posters & I think there is a pub near to the bridge in Burghfield.  Looking forward to seeing Skye in the Reunited section soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There have been 2 sightings of Skye 1. App. 8pm Tue 09/03/10 she was seen by a lady on the burghfield road, this is close to where she went missing from. The ladies daughter tried to get Skye in but she ran over the bridge towards burghfield. 2. She was sighted (possibly) by a woman jogging in prospect park early on wed 10/03/10 am. Thankyou to all dogs lost volunteers for thier help and advice. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Post by LYDNSYD copied from duplicated registration 22,363 to be deleted. There is already a reward mentioned on this, the original thread. Thanks LYDNSYD   While I was postering for Mr Sniffer (JRT) I saw at least 3 posters for Skye in Prospect Park infact I put 1 just under Skye's one at the main carpark. I noticed that there was a ? Cash  reward so you may want to ammend Skye's details. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoken to owner and her daughter.  Owner lives in Dorset and is in Reading to support her daughter who is due to have her first baby on Sunday.  Skye legged it when the door was opened and although doesn't know the built up area she is in she does know the daughters house which is 3 miles away so maybe trying to make her way there.  Posters already going up (in both areas) so lets hope some sightings come in soon.  Advised about scenting and plotting sightings so fingers crossed she is found very soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
