contacted Battersea and spoke to really helpfull lady about the lad on there site, but sadly not my boy, he was there before Sox went missing, but it was worth a try thanks will keep looking.xx

I have been looking on the dog rescue sites today and I have just looked at Battersea.  There is a male staffie on there now called Starsky.  The age is younger but they may have got this wrong.  He has the same front white on front paws like Sox.  I have rung and spoken to Ronnies daughter and given her the details and asked her to have a look as there is every chance that it could be him.  I just hope that this is him.  I cant get this little fella out of my mind - I do so hope that he is home soon where he belongs.  Here is the Battersea link below.  http://www.battersea.org.uk/applications/dynamic/?id=7743&  Julie x

Still keep thinking of Sox.  Have you had any further sightings or have you any idea of which area he may be in ?  I still keep checking the dog rescue cntres online to see if I can see him.  Hoping to hear/see some good news very soon.  At least now it is warmer he might be out and about wandering more so will therefore have a chance at being seen ...... if not already having been picked up and helped by someone. xx

Just a thought, I know you said that you rang the dog warden in Kent, have you also rung the dog wardens in Horsham and Chichester ?  Maybe you should ring the newspaper editor up again and chase him up - the more you pester them and plead for their help the more likely they are to do your story.  Let us know how you get on.  Have you continued to poster over Plaistow area ?  How certain was the lady in Plaistow that it was Soxs that she saw ?  Julie x

Is there any further news or updates on Sox ?  I cant get this little fella out of my mind.  I have been looking through the local rescue centres websites and came across Clymping Dog Sanctuary.  They have a 6 year old male staffie listed as Toby (no photo on site as yet) however, it is worth giving them a call just to find out if this is maybe Sox.  Their telephone number is 01903 883116.  He is listed as Dog No.5.  The website is http://www.clympingdogsanctuary.co.uk/id21.htm Please let us know how you get on - and I will still keep looking for him.  We want him back at home in the warm where he belongs.    Julie x

no other calls with regards to the ad, its all been very quiet, too quiet. spoke to news paper and asked them if possible to do a story about sox and how impact on blue is heartbreaking, were,nt very understanding to be honest, was awaiting call from editor but no one rang back. the ad cost 125 and one phone call was very upsetting. i drive out every day and look for him always but nothing, i,m beginning to think the worst and am so frightened that if dw get hold of him i,ll lose him because he,s unidentifiable( ie no tag).

Maybe putting up loads of posters slightly further afield than Plaistow would be good.  How long ago did the lady in Plaistow see Sox ?  If it was quite recent - then it has taken him 4 weeks to reach that far.  So maybe he could be heading towards Petworth/ Midhurst way.  I guess that just poster as much as possible in village shops, playing areas, bus stops, telephone boxes and just as many places as possible where people will see it.  You could also contact the post office out that way and give them some flyers - the postmen are out on their rounds are all over the area - so it is possible that they could see him on their travels.  I definately feel that he has moved out of the Horsham area as you would have had more sightings from the advert in the paper.  I understand that adverts are expensive in the paper, however, it wouldnt hurt to call the newspaper over that way and speak with them as if they do a story in the paper for you with a pic of Sox ........ this wouldnt cost you a penny.  Got to be worth a try.  Believe me, I think of Sox every day and I so hope that he is back with you soon.  Did you only get this one telephone call about the possible sighting of Sox or were there more ?  Were the calls all from the same sort of area ?  Please let us know.  Julie x

spent last weekend in plaistow, and have spoken to locals in and around and put more flyers up throughout area, local ad in west sussex was,nt as responsive as i,d hoped and running further ads is costly, its not that he,s not worth every penny but funding is short and ads are expensive, have got couple of  more hopefully distinctive pics of Soxs and making more flyers but am getting worried about time moving on and the concern that people will forget, spoke to dw in kent way today and she seemed to think it was too far away but i dont, if had my way he,d be all over country but its knowing how to do it????? cant stop looking. miss him dreadfully.

Ronnie I really feel for you, as I can only imagine what I would feel like if it were my little dog.  As the advert was put in the Horsham paper nearly a month after Soxs had gone missing - it was long enough for him to have moved right out of the area.  You said that you had a possible sighting in Plaistow - have you had any other sightings at all ?  My geography isnt much - but I think that Plaistow is over Midhurst/Petworth way and I have had a look to see if there is another local newspaper over that way that you could put the same advert in as the Horsham paper.  There is a Midhurst and Petworth Observer which is the same group of papers as our local Horsham paper.  The telephone number for putting an advert in is 01243 531222.  Or you may want to give the News Desk Reporters a telephone call on 01243 531313 as they may do a story for you in the paper.  It may be a good idea to give them a call and see how they can help you as I think they will be more than happy to help you.  You need to get people out in that area to be aware of Soxs missing.  They will then be able to give you a call of any sightings over in that area and then you will also know exactly where to poster.  I really do think this has got to be worth a try.  Only if Soxs is picked up, as he isnt microchipped it will be harder to trace him back to you and you need to make as may people aware of where he is missing from.  I do hope that your other little dog is feeling better and I really do hope that Soxs is back home with you very soon.  Please let us know how you get on and if you have any further sightings.  Keep safe Soxs - your mum is doing her best to find you.  Wishing you much luck Ronnie.  Julie x

sadly no sighting through plaistow,dunsfold or kirdford but more flyers left and people seemed very helpful, there is a few travelers sights out there and approached a couple, but carefully. cold wet and fed up but still hoping something comes of advert, not gonna stop looking. thanks to all messages.x

There is a large advert on the front of the local paper today - you really cant miss it and I really do hope that it brings in some sightings or news of Sox. Do we know if there have been any sightings or news of this dear little dog yet ?  Stay safe Sox.  Julie x

Any strays found in Horsham are normally taken to www.oldclaytonkennelsandcattery.com I have sent them the link from Soxs page asking them to contact you Ronnie should he be taken in to them. Regards Sharon

Hi Ronnie, I am sure that Soxs will be home soon.  The advert in the local paper is sure to bring in some sightings and then it will hopefully be just a matter of time before he is home - bless his heart.  Does anyone know where stray dogs found in Horsham and the surrounding areas are taken ?  Then I am more than happy to have a look on the websites etc. whilst working.  Julie x

thankyou for your concern, doing everything possible to get Sox,s profile out there, flyers been all over roffey area and moving them further out tomo, i.e north heath, town centre outside local schools, farthigs and other vets all aware, but all advice and help gratefully appreciated. 3 weeks now but not giving up. advert going in west sussex friday, 2nd section front page. friday ad too. fingers crossed. Having seen the new photos, this is the dog which I saw advertised as missing in Pets at Home.  Have there been any sightings of Soxs at all ?  I still haven't seen any further posters up yet - is this being done ?  Again I am at work, therefore, not of much help other than passing onto work colleagues about missing Soxs.  Hopefully he will be home before the weekend, but I may be of more help then when I am not in the office.  It would be good to get posters put up in Farthings Hill vets and Arthur Lodge vets if this has not already been done.  Any sightings of where he was seen or heading towards would be good as it gives an idea of where to start looking ?  At least he has distinguished markings with his front paws - this is good for if someone has picked him up.  But as said before - it is important to get an advert in this Fridays West Sussex County Times as many people in Horsham buy this local paper so it will make a lot more people aware that he is missing and will therefore hopefully get people phoning in for sightings and this is what we need.  You need to place the advert by Wednesday to get in the paper on Friday. Spoke to owner this morning.  Sox either got out or was let out of garden gate with oher dog.  Other returned shortly after but not Soxs. Given owner advice on what to do next.  Please watch out and if you have any information call immediately.  Sox is friendly and sorely missed by owner.

I am in Horsham.  Whereabouts in Horsham did Soxs go missing and what were the circumstances ?  Have you had any sightings at all ?  It would be good if you could get in touch with the West Sussex County Times asap on 01403 751200 and get a missing advert in the paper for this Friday.  I haven't seen any posters anywhere.  I am at work - but it would be a good idea to put some in the area he went missing and also at garages, bus stops, Horsham train station entrance, pets are us.  In fact when I was in pets are us there was another dog which had gone missing (a german shepherd I think) missing from Littlehaven Lane area - is this anywhere near where Soxs went missing from ? You could also try Radio Mercury and see if they will pit out on the radio that Soxs is missing.  Another idea - is to put some posters down by the bus station in Blackhorse Way and also by the taxi station rank outside Horsham train station.  I hope he is home very soon.  Julie xx
