So good to hear she has been seen again ! Have you done any scenting in the area of the sightings yet ? Fingers crossed it wont be much longer until this lovely girl is back home with you x PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am so pleased she's been seen, and what a clever girl to stay close to the hotel where there is food! The weekend will be busy there with golfers and campers, so dawn and dusk are probably the best times. Do you think she'd come to another (friendly) dog? I can bring my old Golden boy over if it would help, let me know. I know she's scared and I don't want to frighten her more. Stay safe little girl! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have a suggestion. She is scavaging for food, right? At the times she has been seen scavaging or at dawn and at dusk go over with a disposable BBQ and light it. Pull her to you. She is scared right now. So if you see her no eye contact and talk slowly, calmly and in a low tone. Let her come to you. Loud noises will probably scare her more so try to keep it as calm and quiet as possible. Give her some time and I truly believe she will come to you. Good luck and I am very happy you know where she is. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Lilac as seen again by the green keepers very early Sat morning but they didn't get anywhere near her. She's also been scaverging at the back of the hotel. Food & water have been put down in two places for her. Richard went over Sat night & blew horn for her but no sign of her.

Thank you. Much appreciated.
It astonishes me how many dogs go missing each day when I log on here & have to go a couple of pages to find my post.
Good luck to everyone missing a family friend out there.

Poor love! I've cross-posted at work (Harrogate) and given details about the area she's been seen. I'll take a drive to Rudding tomorrow...Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Poster's have gone up in new area today. Also police & dog warden notified again of her.
Also it turns out that Lilac seems to have acquired a collar!????
Which seems to point that someone has tried to have her as a pet then tried letting her off the lead & she has done a runner! Which may explain the new area.

It was a friend of a friend that saw her.
At first it took friend a while to realise it could be Lilac when her friend was telling her about this stray on the golf course.
So she the directed her here to look at pics. She thinks it is her but said that she was dirty so her markings were not so deffinite but she is pretty sure & is going to keep walking there with her friendly dog.
She has travelled right through Knaresbrough to get there if it is her.
Just hope it is her & that e can get her home before this awful weather comes this week.
Thank you all for you help & wishes so far.
It is much appreciated.
K xx

23.40 p.m.  k9h, great there has been sightings and thanks for letting us know.  I'll email you 'Scenting Instructions', it also explains how to behave if you see her as she may well not recognise you at first and it is IMPORTANT you take the right approach and not scare her off.  Keeping everything crossed for you.  Good luck.  Jan x BumpedLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Possible sighting at Rudding Park golf course Harrogate yesterday. They thought it was a beagle looking thin & nervous. They managed to feed her & the dog played with another dog before running off. Fingers crossed.

Forgot to say these pups are of her as a pup so she looks a more mature now,
At least they show her markings & she is around 18 inches tall at the shoulder now & fully grown.

Hi, Sorry for delay in pics of Lilac I had problems uploading but kindly sorted for me.
Sadly that hasnot been a single sighting of Lilac since the 8th March (which is very odd).
Any news is most appreciated. All local vets, dog wardens & police have been notified.
Thank you for all your help & eyes out there.
