Helen, I'm keeping everything crossed that the article in the paper helps to bring little Malty back to you in time for Christmas. You are so right about Lhasa's making brilliant pets - we only have to look at his little face to see how appealing he is. I'm sure as you read this he is probably curled up on someone's lap being loved to bits! Hopefully whoever has him will see the article or a poster and realise that he is not a stray dog! All the very best and I'm thinking of you and your family!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Press coverage-great news! Always the best way along with posters of tracking a dog down-lets hope Malty is back for Christmas! Do you know what date the coverage comes out?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi everyone. Thanks for your comments. The police have looked at the cameras, and there was nothing there, so now have given up and parked the 'incident'. The local paper is running the story this week. Went around to see little dog, whihc turned out to be the bijon that is allowed to run free again, so everyone really upset again. Children are now miserable, as they thought he would be back. I just don;t think he's coming home. My only consolation is that he is a really friendly little dog, and that someone has a lovely new pet. (The alternatives to him not being cared for don;t bear thinking about!) My next try is mailing all the groomers, as he will need grooming in about 6 weeks.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Initial thoughts re the police have now been confirmed, as they have NOT yet assigned an officer to the case, and have not yet looked at CCTV footage in the area - but at least they have to update me when I ring with my crime number - which I do every day. We have had various sightings in the area, but these have turend out to be a bijon and a jack russel which are loose in the area - but still following up on one good lead - if it is Malty, then he may have got away and is trying to get home as this dog seen has no collar, and is too frightened to be let people approach him. I will keep you all updated. Thanks for the hard work DogLost.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Having spoken to owner last night -I was amazed to find she had been given an incident number by the police and not a crime number -Owner has rung back and insisted on a crime number and an officer assigned to the case-now granted-they say they have the area covered by CCTV-so will examine the case-owner is pleased but also angry that this was not done automatically when first reported!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
