Rang Heavens Gate Sanctuary in Langport yesterday to see if they had my missing terrier, and was told that a lady had rung about taking a very friendly JR in. She was redirected to the Sedgemoor Dog Wardens or the Mendip ones. I believe the dog had been picked up in or near Street. Not sure if male or female. The friendly bit ruled mine out!

Tiggy is in The Countryman’s Weekly magazine today. Good Luck

Thanks for suggestions about campsites, Nina. I went on another wild goose chase on Friday 2 April in response to a phone call from a lady saying she'd seen a Tiggy lookalike 5 days earlier crossing a lane in Thornicombe near Blandford, had picked the dog up but another lady had approached her saying that the dog was hers.  I went to investigate and the dog was indeed with its rightful owner and it wasn't Tiggy, but there was a likeness.  Very disappointing. Not 1 response from the big advert in the Blackmore Vale Magazine out on Friday 2 April offering a cash reward.  Just nothing.  It makes me wonder if she's either dead having got stuck in a hole or she's been moved out of the area altogether or someone is not reporting her.  It is heartbreaking not knowing. I have bought a Jack Russell puppy on my family and friends' insistence as I was so miserable and unhappy without Tiggy.  She is very sweet and will be a good distraction.  But I am still thinking about Tiggy all the time and would do anything to have her back in my life again.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

With the camping season now open ukcampsite,co.uk may be a good source of finding nearby caravan sites and ask it a missing poster can be put up.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Catherine, you are doing great, we just need that tone break. Keep plugging away at media, someone, somewhere knows where she is I hope.  We are all behind you.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for your support.  Very little feedback from advert in Blackmore Vale Magazine last Friday (two reports but both came to nothing).  One lady had taken a dog to St Giles so they are aware of Tiggy being missing. I've put another large advert into Blackmore Vale Magazine for this Friday now offering a cash reward.  Announcement on Vale FM went out this morning.  Also put adverts into other local magazines.  I sent missing posters to 75 local farms by post on Monday - lovely support coming in.  I gave posters to Shaftesbury Sorting Office for the 19 postmen to take on their rounds. I'm keeping in touch with RSPCA centre at Ashley Heath were lost dogs are taken. I'm walking and driving for several hours each day around Sutton Waldron but no sighting of her. I've been in touch with a "dog healer" and have been told that Tiggy is alive and she is in a green field local to Sutton Waldron.  There are a lot of fields around and I've visited local farms etc and walked and driven around a lot, but nothing. I'm really hoping and praying that I'll get a phone call from someone to say that they've got Tiggy - I really need this break.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I spent 4 hours putting posters of Tiggy all over Gillingham today and visited the place where she'd last been seen.  I put her blanket and some biscuits in a safe area back from the railway track and went to visit again this evening - no biscuits eaten and no sign of Tiggy. I informed dog wardens for both Somerset and Wiltshire.  A Jack Russell has been handed into kennels in Maiden Bradley (north of Gillingham) which may match Tiggy but I won't find out until tomorrow when the kennels re-open. I got a tip off that a Jack Russell matching Tiggy's description had been seen at 5.50 pm this evening on the Stour Row-Todber road, heading towards Todber.  I only got this news at about 8 pm and went to the area.  No sign of Tiggy.  I visited many houses to see if they'd seen a stray JR and left details.  Put poster up in Stour Row and will do so in Todber tomorrow. I arranged for Midwest Radio to announce Tiggy's disappearence and that she'd been seen in Gillingham.  This was announced on the radio this morning. I gave posters to many ladies at Weightwatchers this evening who will display them at their village shops etc in Ashmore, Motcombe and Marnhull. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Tiggy was sighted at Gillingham Railway Station (Dorset) at 1 pm on the opposite side of the town.  When the person who sighted her saw her poster at the station he went back to search for her but to no avail.  I was told of the sighting at 7pm and spent 1.5 hours looking for her but no sign. I don't know which direction she has taken from Gillingham.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
