So very very sorry to receive a call from David to say that poor Sam was involved in an RTA about 100 yards from his home last night. Its just the worst news that we all dread, and does seem that Sam had been on his way home. Bless you Sam and run free and be safe at Rainbow Bridge xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Excellent photo received and loaded. Taken a couple of years ago when Sam was a bit younger. He is now a bit grey around his muzzle. Will do posters as soon as I can this morning, but owner is making temporary ones to get up straight away. Thanks Helen for following up. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have spoken to the owners and they are doing everything they can to get Sam home. Dog Warden's and local vets have been notified. I will send gereral informaton, contact numbers for vets and rescue centres in Suffolk and scenting guidelines. Hazel has advised the owners on scenting and this has been done at their house and also the house they moved from. A photo should be with us very soon. Stay safe Sam until you are found xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoken to owner. Sam ran off first thing this morning, 20th March before breakfast, and not been seen since. Owners have been back to old house and warned them he may be around, but not seen there either. One of the neighbours did say Sam was out, a day or so ago, sniffing around, so I'm wondering if he has got scent of a nice lady dog, and gone off after her. I have advised to leave clothing, bedding, scent and food, at both houses, and to put up temporary posters tonight, until we can get photo sorted. Owner may have one on old mobile phone which he will need to collect from office in the morning. Sam is a very very small labrador, both in build, and height, but is not a cross breed. He has a 3/4 inch scar on the top of the right side of his muzzle and a few grey whiskers. He is a very friendly dog and would go to anyone. Could have been taken in for his safety, and people are waiting to see posters up with contact number on, as Sam did not have his collar and ID on. Lets hope he will come sniffing back tonight, or owners will get good news of where he is in the morning. If no photo on phone, we will have to find a similar pic for the posters.
