she doesn`t look like she`s had any pups Debra so don`t think she was... Lucy is 100% back to normal now lol... its still like living a dream though, and mum looks happy and healthy again ( thankgod ).. Lucy goes everywhere with mum now, mum even took her to our libby`s school play awards the other day lol..

I still haven`t seen lucy yet... going to visit her tomorrow and will take a picture to put here! My mum is now crying becuase she still can`t believe we`ve got her back! Lucy hasn`t forgotten mum and she has been racing round with her sister anna and playing..Anna has eaten a full meal and thats something she hadn`t done since lucy was taken.. Lucy is appearing in the ad trader this week with her photo in there! I went this morning to a place where we have been trying to get into for ages... they finally advertised some pups so i was able to walk straight onto their land pretending to view the pups... had good look around but sadly no lucy.

Hi Debra, mum isn`t coping at all.. she`s still has distraught over lucy today has she was on the first day she was stolen. Just about every time i speak to mum she breaks down in tears! I don`t think she`ll ever get over it.. we`ll never stop looking for lucy though no matter how long it takes x

Thanks keo61, my number isn`t on the poster though but my number is 07760885064... the number on the poster is my mums and dads though so you can get either of them on them numbers! Mum says lucy`s tail is a 3 quarter tail so the dog you saw could quite easily have been lucy..please let me know if you see it again!

Vixtory, I am so sorry to hear you received one of these awful calls. I had one call from a man who said he had Sarafina and wanted 275 pounds. I said to him that he didn't have her and hung up. He didn't call back. You are right, people are horrible sometimes, but then there are others you meet who are trying hard to help us with our quests to find our dogs. Please know you have lots of people on your side and helping in any way they can, even if only posting to give you continued hope in mankind. How is your mother? I think of her often and hope she is coping a bit better. I completely understand what she is going through, Sarafina has been gone 18 weeks. If it is any consolation at all, since Lucy was stolen she is most likely being well taken care of. I know that probably doesn't make your mom feel much better, but hopefully it's something. Please we are continuing to send positive thoughts and love and prayers your way. xx

Sorry Vixtory in taking so long to reply, havent been near a computer for a few days. The dog I saw was been walked on a lead down Baffam Gardens - the first bit off Baffam Lane opp the Bowling Club - it may have been in the Easter hols as my daughter was with me and my dog - I live off Westbourne Rd so walk my dog in the area a lot and have never seen the dog before - I'm pretty sure the tail was long and not a long docked one, I was at the other side of the road so wasnt able to see if it was a female or male. I am keeping my eye out and will text you if I see it again (have Lucy's no. in my phone)

i had a call today from someone claiming to be called Ray from animalrescuers lost and found.. he stated that a trucker had found lucy laying injured in the road and he had taken her in.. he then claimed to have given her to his lonely father.. he regretted that he couldn`t afford to send her back and asked us for money to ship her back to us...THIS IS A SCAM! We have notified the police and given them the scam address, we have also given them Rays phone number because he was not clever enough to with hold it! How can anyone be so heartless and cruel enough to try and get money out of people this way! It really does disgust me! I`m so upset right now that i feel like crying!

her tail is docked but not a short dock she has got some length to it and she has got long hair on her tail... was the dog you saw being walked or was it roaming?

Lucy has a docked tail doesnt she - I saw a similar dog in Selby last week but it had a full tail.

possible sighting of lucy in bentley near doncaster southyorkshire! Mum went through to bentley day before yesterday and put flyers up round there.. a young lad stopped mum and said he thought he`d seen her being walked on a lead that same day! Going back through to bentley to ask around and see if there`s been anymore sightings! Also ringing southyorkshire times to see if they`ll put an article in their paper about Lucy

If you know where she is and she is microchipped will the RSPCA help out at all? Or is there any chance of you getting a third party to contact the people who might have her if you know who they are for negotiation? I feel so bad for you and your mother, not to mention poor Lucy. Have you had a chance to talk with your mother's doctor? I remember you were very worried about her right after Lucy was taken. Good luck with everything. Lucy has been put back in Adtrader.. this time i was able to put the simular dog photo in there too, so fingers crossed we might just hear something! Mums just has upset today has she was on the day Lucy was taken!

I do hope you have some luck. I agree with you entirely on the ways of these people  They are a law unto themselves unfortunately but I do think the Police have started to come down hard on them lately. We have a young lad in Camblesforth who is always walking a  dog for a couple of days and then it disappears and another comes along soon after. They have no respect for other peoples property. Were hoping she`s still being held in snaith, but she could be at the goole or carlton one! We`ve got a friend that is going to see if he can get her back for us.. also mum thinks she might have gotten through to the police and they might do something now! It amazes me why these people are so blooming untouchable.. and it sickens me how they are constantly helping themselves to peoples pets and property! I know Bill but i honestly don`t think he`ll be-able to do anything.. Thanks for your support everyone x

This is hopeful. Vixtory I would blitz the area with posters if you haven't already done so i.e. the forresters and the shop and fish shop. I noticed that there was a poster in our village (Camblesforth) I was just on my way up to the shop with one when I saw it on the lampost. Have you put one in the garage at Carlton I wonder?  Good Luck and I hope she turns up very soon.

Vixtory if this woman has picked up Lucy and not contacted the Dog Warden & I beleive it to be an offence as strays must be reported. Just in case this woman is able to log on here do be careful what you say as you may not want her knowing what you plan to do next. ANOTHER POSSIBLE SIGHTING: someone has called my mum today and said they have seen someone with our Lucy on a lead in Carlton near Snaith! They saw her yesterday! Mums going to get up early in the morning and see if she can catch anyone walking her! We covered george street today which is where lucy was seen to run after the first sighting.. no luck though! We also scoured the fields that back on to george street... Lucy`s story has been printed on the front page of this weeks goole and howden courier! We have got posters up round Carlton so the person who was walking her must have no intention in handing her in!

mums out now postering again, especially on the street where lucy was seen to run up.. she`s also door to door knocking up that street coz were hoping someone took her in! Calendar is the main calender news that comes on the telly every night! Emailed thats life magazine and take a break magazine too to see if they`ll print story on her! possible sighting of lucy... i man has called after seeing a poster about lucy, he says he saw her on the 23rd march.. she was sat outside the butchers shop in snaith, he tried to catch her but she ran away. She must have bit the person who took her and got away from them.. no further sighting since then though, but the guy says it was definately her!

just spoken to calendar news... they can`t help us unfortunitly, they reckon they get too many calls about lost dogs.They said she`d have to have something very special about her to get mentioned on calendar.. she might not be special to them but she is to us!

Thanks everyone... left a email for GMTV, I`m hoping to get lucy mentioned on there in the morning... am also ringing our local calendar news too but haven`t been able to get through to them yet! Police called this morning to say they had hit a dead end with lucy... they have said that we have now got to turn to the public for help in trying to get her home! Contact the animal warden service on 01482 396301 during normal office hours or the council's stray kennels on 01964 551351.
Also please consider that it may have been collected by an animal warden from a neighbouring authority. The numbers for our neighbouring authorities are as follows:-

thanks Gillyb, mums going to see doctor on wednesday morning coz this is making her so ill. I want more than anything to see our lucy`s status to be re-united.. its all just so upsetting...mums not been well for along time now and now she`s so much worse... she lives for Anna, Sam and lucy ( her cockers ) and Anna and Sam are pining for Lucy too.. Especially Anna who is Lucy`s sister ( same mum and dad but from different litters ), she`s barely eating and just lays there whining all the time! I`m starting to think were never going to see Lucy again and that thought is very hard to bare! Just want to thank everyone for all your help and support!

I can`t understand why mum doesn`t want anyone knowing her name or the fact that she is microchipped.. can anyone on here understand why she wouldn`t want these things mentioned? My mum used to be the same, telling me never to tell strangers the dogs name or put the name on the dog tag. Nobody will be able to alter the chip into their name so don't worry about that, & it's unlikely they'd be able to locate the chip in the dogs body to try and remove it. The more publicity and coverage you can get the more chance of her being found so keep going, you're doing all the right things. I'll cover postering Howden, surrounding area's & local vets tonight + have already circulated to local dog walkers Keep your chin up xx

Just called the Goole and Howden courier paper and they are going to print a story about lucy.. I can`t understand why mum doesn`t want anyone knowing her name or the fact that she is microchipped.. can anyone on here understand why she wouldn`t want these things mentioned? Jan, thankyou for the posters hun.. i`m going to my dads today to print them off and then i can put some around knottingley and selby etc.. I`m very touched that so many people are helping us in our search for lucy.. i`m going to stay a member on here for has long has everyone will have me, then i can also help others in their  search for their lost dogs.. untill the police gave us the card with doglost details we never knew this site existed!

Debra, thanks for your kind words and thoughts hun.. i am so sorry to hear you never found your little dog.. never give up hope though, the police told us that some dogs have been reunited with their owners after 2, 5 and even up to 10 years after they have been reported missing.. there`s always that chance that one day you`ll get your little dog back and i really hope you do.. Gillyb, my mum and sister are going to the selby game fair... i think their going everyday! I can`t go unfortunitley because i`m disabled ( part paralised ) and couldn`t manage the long walks.. Going to my dads today to print of more posters... Thanks for your support hun.

Vix, we have Selby game fair this weekend, it would be a great place to hand out lots of posters etc, 4 days of a busy event. We just need to speak to the organisers and check that would be ok, if not, there's nothing to stop us hanging around the car park outside the event Do you want me to print a bulk out and drop them round? Will you have time to go to the fair at all - I could meet you on one of the days possibly and help out

00.10 a.m.  Thanks Debra for posting how it has affected you, I will always remember that first night when you registered her and how upset you were.  The loss is so hard to deal with, one of the worst is the not knowing where they are and if they are o.k. Vixtory I have done some various size posters and emailed them to you tonight along with some advice/info to help you in your search.  We are all willing for Lucy to be found and see her back home with your mum.  Good luck.  Jan x

Vix, I don't know how old your mother is but just to let you know that I went through the very same thing after my Sarafina went missing. She is still missing unfortunately, but I just wanted to let you know that I couldn't eat because when I even thought about food I felt nauseous. I had trouble sleeping, I couldn't concentrate at work and got absolutely nothing done around my home. My other dog and cats got fed, my other dog got walked and that was pretty much it (except for laundering my work clothes). My husband had to pretty much fend for himself. I finally went to my doctor because I felt like I was going to have a nervous breakdown. He told me that I was going through grief and with time it should pass and if not to come back to him and we would discuss possibly being put on anti-depressants. I also would have panic attacks and have trouble breathing. All this was directly related to Sarafina being missing. So you might want to talk with her doctor. I am now able to eat and concentrate at work, but I still have trouble sleeping and occasionally have milder panic attacks so am thinking of re-contacting my doctor this week. I completely understand how she feels. I certainly hope that Lucy comes home very soon, for all concerned. I will keep you, your mother and Lucy in my thoughts and prayers and will send lots and lots of positive energy. May G-d bless all of you. xx

I think the other found dogs will be being returned to their rightful owners... Mum was waiting for me to call her this morning after the police called me... both of us were convinced we were going to be getting lucy back today! Having to call mum and tell her that lucy was not among the found cockers was the most heart wrenching thing i`ve ever had to do... she sobbed so much! I`m getting really worried about my mum now, she`s not eating or sleeping and she`s constantly upset.. she is starting to look very ill now... I wish i knew where lucy was..

Such a shame she wasn't amongst the found ones. (By the way, do we know what will happen with them?) Getting those posters up is really so important - just wish I was closer so that I could help you. Do you have any large supermarkets or other retail outlets near you where you can put posters on car windscreens? Car boots would be another good place to do this, especially with the Easter weekend comind up when lots more people will be out and about.

Sorry Lucy wasn't there. Just a thought have you had a tentative look at the site just after the pollington turn off going towards hensall on the left hand side also there is some caravans just after the roundabout at Drax power station going towards long drax on the right hand side and last of all the ones down Carlton near the main burn road? Always worth a look. I am at Camblesforth and will keep a look out for her and hoping she is found soon

I`ve just spoken to a police officer about the stolen puppies that were recovered from the caravan site in bradford yesterday... he told me that other cocker spaniels were recovered from the same caravan and they are lemon/lemon&white.. i have to wait now while another officer calls me back tomorrow to find out if our Lucy has been found along side the pups... i won`t sleep tonight! Please keep everything crossed for me that it is our Lucy!

I'm sure I'm just one of many willing Lucy to be found and returned to your mum very soon. Make sure you get as many posters up as possibly in order to make her too hot to handle. Thoughts are with you xx

thanks Keo61.. holmefield vets in brayton are aware of Lucy being missing but they haven`t got a poster yet. I spoke to bill ( selby dog warden ) the other day and he`s going to look out for her too. We know there were lots of motor bikes down the lane by the farm on the day lucy went but really couldn`t say they`ve taken her! Who ever it was they must have some strength because they bent the security fence right over to get to her.. Thanks again everyone for your support... just knowing that people are kind enough to help us gives us that little bit more hope of getting lucy back home safely.

Have printed a couple of posters off and will take them into the 2 Selby vets (Holmefield and Dam) when they open on Monday.  Hope she'll be home before that.  Are there any more details of how she was taken? Any vehicles to be on the look out for, etc. 
Has the Selby dog warden been informed - I believe he is quite helpful.
Plus Pixie's owner Glenys (collie cross missing from DN14 Nov 08) may have info about the traveller sites.

Gillyb, thankyou so much for your offer of help... we don`t have a more recent picture..i have been looking for a picture on the net but haven`t has of yet found any pictures that look like lucy. I`ll keep looking though and will get back to you. We have been out looking for her today again but the police seem to think the travellers have taken her to either breed from or sell on.. its breaking my heart to see my mum so upset all the time, she can`t eat and hasn`t slept since lucy was stolen on tuesday! I just wish i could find her.. Thanks everyone for your support

Have also posted on various spaniel and gundog forums, made contact with organisers of the Selby game fair and will try to make contact with Kelmarsh and the one near Thame today.I have been asked on some forums for posters. I Can email posters/fliers to anyone who needs them or you can print posters by registering & logging in to this site and selecting the poster option at the top left hand side of the page. bedsdoglost@googlemail.com Have also contacted Samsalin Working Gundog Rescue to make them aware.

Lucy was stolen from Acorn farm in Snaith Northyorkshire on the 23rd March 2010.. she is my mums dog and my mum is devastated.. Lucy is a plump little dog and although we cannot be 100% sure, we think she is pregnant.. if she is pregnant her puppies are due anytime now. We are also very concerned that she will not eat for the people who have taken her.. We all just want her back where she belongs.
