!Congratulations! on being reunited with your poppet. It gives me more hope now, as my y.terrier wandered off from home on 19th May 2010 and has still not returned. I hope and pray that one day I will get a phonecall to say that he has been found safe and well! Stay safe and well poppet!

Great news. poppet has turned up over 4 months since she disappeared. She was found wandering near a main road about a mile away from where she disappeared in May. A chap passing by noticed how bedraggled she looked and picked her up and she was taken to the vets and scanned for a chip and bingo!! She has obviously been taken in by someone in the area and either escaped or been put out. Many thanks to everyone from doglost who has helped in her search over the last few months. Chris

Put up more posters in Bolton Woods area and gave leaflets to postie (she will also put poster up in depot) and street cleaners. A man in one of the shops thought that there were two or three Yorkies who lived round about, so may have been one of them the lady saw last week. Everyone said they would be on the lookout for her.

I've contacted the cleansing dept for Bradford this morning. No reports of any dogs found on the roads in the past 2 weeks. Put an advert in the telegraph and argos lost and found section yesterday (2nd time) but no joy as yet.

I'll do some more postering tomorrow around Bolton Woods area, and I'll take one of my dogs with me in case that encourages her.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Put more posters up yesterday and later today around the area further down Bolton Road/Otley Road/Lister Lane. Friends of owner have also been postering in the area so hoping we another confirmed RECENT sighting. I spoke to a lady today who said she had seen a Yorkie ( gender unknown) around the Bolton Woods area which appeared to be stray but had "latched" onto a man walking his dog who was trying to get it to go away. This dog was wearing a collar (which Poppet wasnt at the time she went missing )The lady did attempt to try to catch the yorkie but said it was growling when approached so didnt feel confident with it - it then ran off. I have spoken to Poppets owner regarding this and it may/may not be Poppet as we don't know if this dog was a female but postering around this area also. Poppet was originally rescued from a property that had 96 dogs and isn't housetrained so it could perhaps be someone has taken her in but hasn't anticipated the toilet problems. If this is so, all is needed is to contact the owner or hand her in to a vet or rescue - or ring the Doglost number. This poor girl has gone through enough trauma in her life and needs to back home with her owner. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I got some more posters up early this morning. Spoke to all the dog walkers I saw and gave them leaflets. One man said he had seen her in Peel Park near Lister Lane side, but couldn't remenber when. He thought it was at the begining of the week. I gave him a leaflet and he said he'd call if he saw her again. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoke this morning to owners son who has been in contact with Leeds dog wardens, no matches for Poppet have been collected by them - the stray kennels have also been contacted again for Leeds and Bradford but no Yorkshire Terriers have yet been brought into them. Gave no for Cliffe Kennels to check there also. There is an ad going into Telegraph and Argus so that will reach more people. I went for a drive around this afternoon and also put additional posters up around the area and replaced some that were water damaged. Some, as usual, appear to have been vandalised/taken down Spoke to dog walkers and gave them posters in case they hear anything or spot her. Sadly there have been no further sightings as yet since the last one, but the more people are aware of Poppet hopefully it won't be long until owner gets another sighting reported and this girl is back home where she belongs Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Managed to get posters up in the polling station on Fagley Road and the chip shop. A gentleman who lives near the newsagents took a poster to put up in his local pub. Also spoke to a couple of window cleaners and gave them a leaflet. No one had seen her but more people now know she is missing. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I will drive around the area later, and will try early tomorrow as well in case she's keeping a low profile in the day.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoke to son of owner this morning. Poppet belongs to his mum - they have only had Poppet for approx 2 mths. She escaped under the fence in the garden.Posters have been put up around the area and dog warden notified and vets have been informed. Have also advised them to contact Leeds Dog warden as it borders their area. There has been a sighting of her around 6am yesterday morning by a newsagent when he opened up the shop but he shooed her away :-{{ so owners have been back around Fagley area and put more posters up near where she was sighted. Hope this little girl is found quickly. Keep safe Poppet x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
