HI Katie, hope you had a nice week away. The honeymoon was ok, we just spent every waking moment worrying and talking about Vinnie, we made the best of it for the children really. Would you believe we got the call about Vinnie literally as we were leaving the hotel to fly home! We are so grateful to have him back and we had our first family long walk in the woods this evening it was bliss. Vinnie has settled right back in and seems on the face of it no worse for his little trip away. He has not left my side since being back and is currently snoring away cuddled up to his big sister Jazz. Thanks for everything, we really appreciate it xxxx
Auntie Katie
I've just got back from a weeks holiday and this is the first thing I've checked - I've been thinking about him all week and hoped and prayed to read this when I got home. Such great great news! Hope you had a fantastic honeymooon! Welcome Home Vinnie!! xx

Hi Everyone, I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone that helped to find Vinnie, the kindness of strangers is overwhelming and Jo has been amazing! Vinnie is safe and sound here with us now, we still cant get to the bottom of where he has been or what he has been up to but he looks very healthy and well fed so whoever had him certainly was looking after him. im off to buy him a new collar now to attch his id tag to, he nomally has it on his harness as thats what we use when we walk him and he doesnt normally wear a collar indoors but thats all going to change from now, hes home safe and well and thats the way its going to stay! Thanks again and rest assured that I will be a regular on this site now and will help in any way that I can to help other people in that terrible situation Lots of love from Vinnie and his mum xxxxxxxx

Reading this wonderful news has made my evening. I just love Staffies! Vinnie has such a lovely, kind face that his missing story really got to me. Can this handsome boy have a nice new ID tag on his collar to compliment his chip? Welcome home Vinnie!

Yipppeeeee!!! Vinnie has been found. Awaiting further details but owners brother in law had a call from the local pound to say Vinnie was there. I am so pleased. Maybe 'too hot to handle' after all the posters and press?? :)

Thanks Suzybee but sadly Jim isn't Vinnie. Thanks for looking and posting though, I know its much appreciated by Vinnie's owners.

The Evening Echo, local paper, have very kindly run a story for us again, appealing for information on Vinnie. Fingers crossed this extra publicity brings the all important call. x

Thanks so much saatkin, I presume you were referring to Tazzy? Sadly not Vinnie. Will try to get the local press to run an appeal.

Thanks Maggie. Sadly not a match for Vinnie, he's not got white on his paws/legs like the Binfield one. Such a shame. I know his owners will be grateful for you for thinking of him and checking against the founds. Fingers crossed for a match next time!
Maggie
ok, hope this is Vinnie, good luck.. I will check when im home from work :)

There is an army of people out there spreading the word and ready with posters to blitz the area tomorrow.....Vinnie will soon be the best know boy around! Really hoping all the hard work brings the all important, and certainly much awaited call. Will try and get some local press coverage for you from a couple of contacts I have. Good luck. x

Hi Jotty, I drove to Lyntons this morning, the guy there said he had heard of Vinnie being missing but hadnt taken him in. I phoned the councils emergency line numerous occaisions yesterday and I called them as soon as they vets told me that he had been there and they had refferd him to the warden, im so annoyed because the guy there told me he was the only one in and if anyone rung with info on Vinnie he would be the one to take the call etc etc and call me straight away, so when this guy rang why didnt the operator at the council say he could put us in touch immediately, we could have collected him within minutes, Just another cock up in a long line I guess. The vets behaviour is disgraceful, when I get my boy back im taking my him and my other dog to another vets, they arent getting another penny from me. When I spoke to the warden today he said he had taken dogs from this vets before on a Bank Holiday so it just seems that they had inexperienced or staff who couldnt be bothered. Funny that, considering their motto is 'to us they're one of us' yeah right, would they leave one of their own out in the cold like that with a stranger who was clearly struggling and didnt know which way to turn. Makes me so mad! Also Vinnie has bad allergies and is currently on a special diet, I hate to think of what junk he could be being fed on if someone has decided to keep him and what damage this could be doing to him. I really just want him back x

So sorry to see Vinnie is missing Manda B, and how infuriating that he was turned away, from simply being scanned, by his own vets - that is disgraceful. Just to check, is it Lynton kennels (pound) you are calling? If you can't get an answer still now as obviously almost a day has gone by, might be worth a drive up there (they are in Brentwood) to check incase your boy is there. I presume you have spoken to Basildon Council/dog warden as well. As Auntie Katie has said, get some posters up all around the area, hopefully when the guy let him go, someone else took him in instead.

Just spoken to Vinnie's mum, will email information when I get home this evening. I hope, if, this was Vinnie he's OK and that he's found soon. x
Manda B
It appears what could have been our dog was taken to his vets yesterday and turned away, the guy who had him was told to call the warden, he apprently called the warden didnt leave any details and said he couldnt wait for the warden to collect him so he let him go again, to say we are devastated is an understatement. If only the vets had taken him in and scanned him he would safe with us again. Im now trying the pound but there is no answer, ill keep on trying
Auntie Katie
Hi I'm so sorry that Vinnie is missing. Firstly contact dog wardens; vets and local rescue centres... give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars. If your dog is microchipped please let your company know and at the same time check that all details held and up to date. You can print posters from this site but only when you are signed in and you need to get postering now... WE CANNOT EMPHASISE HOW VERY IMPORTANT THIS IS. Someone will try and make personal contact with you soon but should you require urgent help please phone admin who will give you a number for your nearest co-ordinator. Alternatively you can email me on doglostcambridge@yahoo.co.uk. Good Luck! x
