Border Daisy
A Border Terrier was found and held at Rochdale Dog Rescue for 7 days. He looks black and tan, badly in need of stripping so looks very shaggy coated. Don't like to raise your hopes after such a time but it might be worth taking a look at the facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153186697838255&set=gm.1416028052040382&type=1&theater

Hi - this dog is being offered for stud on Freeads. Poor little thing doesn't look very happy about it. Similar to Hector but it's a very long shot after so long...

Thank you for thinking of hector we are on holiday at the moment and only just seen the comments on here. X will never give up hope x

I have just rang the kennels where the found dog is being held... sadly it is not Hector.. the found dog is from Knutsford and his owner is on her way to collect him so at least he got his happy ending.
Finger's crossed Hector can also be re-united with his family soon. Adele x
Rileys Mum
Please check the found Border Terrier at the bottom of this list.. found today, an hour's drive away from where Hector went missing. The found dog looks to have a bit more grey around his muzzle and has a longer coat but for any dog that has been out for a couple of months this is to be expected.
Would be lovely if this was Hector. I have everything crossed.. I will contact the kennels tomorrow to see if i can get any further info on this found dog.

I have got the phone numbers for 4 farms in the area near Barlaston. 2 of the farms have seen a dog matching Hectors Description in the last 4 days. The last time he was seen was walking down Longton Road in Barlaston. We shall be out and about postering etc tonight. EDIT: Unfortunately after seeing the posters the farmers said it was a bigger dog.Last edited: 2010-08-17 10:13:44 by Hector_Bad

A lady rang on saturday to say a FOUND border terrier poster was seen on a billboard at the post office / Bargain Booze in Hem Heath (Trentham Estate). When we got there the poster was no longer there and the lady i spoke to in Bargain Booze couldnt remember seeing the poster. Have left a LOST poster just in case.

Hector is in The Countryman’s Weekly magazine today. Good Luck

might be worth sticking a tube(thin guttering or plumbers pipe) down the holes, put your ear to the end, this would amplify the sound more if hes down there.just for peace of mind.
Hector_Bad
Hi we contacted Fell and Moorland and they said unless we were sure he was down a hole they wouldnt be able to help us. We have had numerous people / dogs searching the holes in the woods, and we go twice a day around this park with our other dog. Unless he went very very far underground we have not heard / seen anything.
Shereen
I hope today brings good news for you on Hectors Birthday, have you seen the other dog that gets out?does it have the same colouring as Hector? also have you checked out any rabit/badger holes in the woods he was last seen,as it may be worth contacting Fell and Moorland who may be able to help if he has gone to ground.Last edited: 2010-07-02 10:12:49 by Shereen

Today is a very upsetting day. Its Hectors 8th Birthday. Please come home soon baby boy we miss you so much xxx
Hector_Bad
my husband went and asked in the country cabin, unfortunatley as i thought there is someone that owns a BT on that road - it keeps getting out. It wears a red collar. We already had postered the country cabin, and the cuckoo. Thanks Again xx
ESSJ - Area Co-ordinator Rutland
Have you put flyers through the doors of all the houses on that road and any others close by - you might be able to eliminate/or not the possibility that it is someone elses BT, maybe put a note on to ask if anyone can let you know if this sighted dog might be theirs.
gandar69
No not spoken to you before. But will keep a look out and hope you find him soon. I have horses in the fields near so will keep an eye out in case he has wandered off the roads and is in the fields. Will tell the other girls to keep a look out when they are riding.
Hector_Bad
gandar69ww, Have i spoke to you on the phone? If not you are the 3rd person to mention seeing a BT down that road. My friends mother works at the Dougie Mac hospital and she also said she had seen one roughly in the same position on Sat 27th at 9.45pm. I wonder if someone there has one and it keeps getting out? I really appreciate you keeping a look out for me. Ill go for a drive through later. x
gandar69
Hi i saw a border terrier that matches this description at about 5:30pm on Tuesday 29/06/10 running passed the Cuckoo pub towards the country cabin on that road. I drive to the Downs banks every night and i am up and down that road at 6:00am every morning so will keep a look out for you and hope you find him soon. I will keep a look out as i have only just received this info from the website. I drive to Barlaston every night so will keep a look out for him

8 days today - still advertising in local newspaper and shout outs on radio stoke. Only glimmer of hope a lady was driving through Barlaston and saw a border at about 11.30am yesterday (23rd June) wandering up the road on its own. She then saw my advert in the paper and rang me last night. Have driven around there this morning but no sign - we had already postered around there but will take more.
Hector_Bad
Well its 5 days today, and apart from one prank call by some kids yesterday we still have no news. We have literally postered everywhere we possibly can, my facebook page has 250 members so the word is most definately out there. Hes still being advertised in the local paper and the radio is broadcasting for information.

Owner is off out postering again today- if anyone can help please contact them.

Hi, I’m sorry to hear Hector is missing. Someone will try and make personal contact with you as soon as possible, to offer advice and help. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres. Give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars. You can find vets in your own area by clicking on the green logo which says “Find Any UK VET”, on the right hand side of the page under the “latest missing dogs” photo - top right. Please email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo of your dog quoting the dog’s Doglost ID number, or upload a photo yourself on “update details” above. You can also add comments and update the dog’s status, e.g.sightings, re-united etc. by clicking on “add a comment” at the bottom of the page. If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and at the same time, check that all details held, are up to date. You can obtain a “MISSING” poster from "view poster" above. You can only print posters when you are signed in. Start postering now! I CANNOT EMPHASISE HOW VERY IMPORTANT THIS IS. If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be re-homed legally, after 7 days, so please try to visit rescue centres, to look for your dog. Do not rely on checking by phone alone, as other people may not recognise your dog by your description.
