- Oh Wow - how did I miss this last night! What great news - Coryn and the RDR team you do a fantastic job under such tough conditions at the moment and knowing how many dogs that you save and manage to get to safety everyday it is even more special to us that you have the energy to check against our lost pages for matches. A massive thankyou to you.I am sure that Jake will settle back in very quickly and look forward to some updates on his progress.

- Hi , i cannot thank everyone enough !! I still cant believe that after 2 months he is home with my mum! She really is over the moon! It is a worry that his chip hasnt been picked up , but he will be going to the vet tomorrow for a check up and mum will ask them to check again! If not he will have another put in. It is a worry that they move and sometimes disappear. Thanks so much , if it wasnt for you we wouldnt have found him xx
- 2010-08-26 20:47 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
- Thanks again Coryn you are a star. I've also stressed to owners to get his chipped checked and if still not found to go back to whoever chipped him. It is a worry it was not found especially with him being young and his chip is not one of the older ones. Jan x
- 2010-08-26 20:37 Brunzara
- Thank dog for Doglost is all I can say ;) I am so pleased that we could help get this lad back home. Unfortunately no the chip still wasn't picked up but it was obvious to all that owner and Jake clearly knew each other and there were tears all round! I have suggested getting Jake scanned again when everybody is a bit calmer as the chip could have migrated. Coryn (RDR)

- Goodness he looks so different in the new photo, but still recognisable by the markings on his face. Does anyone know where he has been all this time?Surely he cannot have been running loose all this time?

- Photo which Coryn sent now uploaded. His family are over the moon to have him back and cannot believe it. When I was on the phone to them he could be heard in the background barking/crying with their other dog. This also proves how important it is to supply DL with a photo for cross matching purposes. Jan x

- Oh MY GOD !!!! How wonderful.I can hardly belive Jake has been found after all this time and hardly any news of him. Where on earth has he been all this time? Does anyone know? I am really delighted that this gorgeous boy has been found and is safe.. Well done Coryn - that's Tubby and Jake both found with Rochdale recently.

- BRILLIANT NEWS that it was Jake that Coryn (Rochdale Dog Rescue) alerted us to earlier today. He was picked up this morning in Blackburn by the DW. Owner went to GLENCOE KENNELS two minutes before they closed. When Jake seen him mum he was a bit subdued at first but once he recognised who it was he went mad, it was a very emotional reunion. Coryn alerted me first while I was out delivering my Merseymarts, I spoke to Jake's overjoyed Mum and her daughter for an update. Jake has changed slightly and at the moment is a lot thinner but this will be put right with lots of TLC. It is great to see him finally in the BLUE, hopefully we will get a REUNITED photo of him. A very big special THANK YOU to RDR and GLENCOE, great when the system works and this goes to show how we can all work together. Thanks also to everyone who has helped spread the word and helped in the search. Welcome home Jake, lots and lots of cuddles from everyone on DL. Jan x

- Looking at the pictures, our GSD doesn't look to have as much black on his head and face and a chip wasn't picked up but still worth checking as you never know. Coryn (RDR)

- Spoke to Halewood RSPCA yesterday just before they closed, not been able to actually call in as closed by time I finish work. One GSD is a semi long coat and picked up as a stray, aged approx 1.5 years the other one was handed by its owner. I've passed details onto owner and suggested they ask the RSPCA if they have scanned the one handed in. Jsn x

- Possible sighting Warton! Mum recieved a call from a coach driver, who last night about 12.30am on his way back saw a german shepherd on the grass verge sniffing about. Today he was in the garage when he saw a poster about a missing gsd and has phoned mum. He said he couldnt be certain as it was dark but it was definatly a gsd!

- Just a thought. Have they tried contacting Silcocks Funfair. Their travelling caravans and funfair equipment were parked up in field or two just behind Great Birchwood a few days before and after 26 June. West End Road runs almost directly behind Great Birchwood. They may have seen something or someone with a GSD over that period. Or perhaps try contacting the farmer who let them use his field. West End Lane, it starts between the Volvo garage and the car wash, just on the bend past the Land Reg at Warton Silcocks were here for Lytham Club day which was last Sat. I understand the fair will be in Wrea Green on 3 July, so they may still be in the field I'll check tomorrow on our walk. You never know it may just be worth asking them if they have seen or heard anything

- I have crossposted onto several email forums and also onto my facebook site and th ObedienceUK website. Have asked people to crosspost too .. hope he is found safe soon. The best plan is just to poster, poster and then poster some more - make him too hot to handle. Could owners pay for an advert in the local newspapers too?

- Well we have been in the lytham area looking all day today , we have put some posters etc up. The only thing we have heard today is that yesterday morning a man coming back from the airport saw a young man around 25-28 years old walking a young Gsd at app 5-45 which fits in time wise , the man has GSD himself and had a good look , we showed him a picture of Jake and he is almost sure it was him. He was seen walking towards the roundabout at Frekelton. Hopefully hes waiting till the vets etc open on Monday and we will hear something.

- I hope he is found really soon. He is just gorgeous. The council offices and rescue kennels local to where he went missing will be open Monday and the dog wardens will be on duty. Call them all on Monday if he is not found by then. Hopefully someone will have picked him up and handed him in by then. Fingers crossed.

- I have spoken to my mum tonight who has had to leave without finding him. She is almost positive he has been stolen! They went to bed last night and he was asleep next to her , all the tent was zipped up (the inner and the outer bit and he was in the inner bit with them!) and when they woke up this morning the tent was still completely zipped up inside and out. She said this morning her 1st thoughts were that he had got out but the more my mum and dad think about it is nearly impossible.
- 2010-06-26 18:07 Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
- They should certainly scan him for a chip when he is picked up, and taken to rescue kennels, then next, call the owner, but sometimes mistakes do happen so PLEASE keep in regular contact with them and go there yourself to check.I am sure he won't be too far away and someone will find him soon. Posters do the trick !Last edited: 2010-06-26 18:08:22 by Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland

- Hi, Jake is still missing , mum has contacted local police and dog wardens , i have called the local vets , animal sanctuary. He is microchpped. I will try to get hold of his chip number and contact the microchip people , i havnt done that yet. Can a rescue still re-home if he is chipped ? I will email a photo to you now.
- 2010-06-26 16:17 Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
- Hi, I’m sorry to hear Jake is missing. Someone will try to make personal contact with you as soon as possible, to offer advice and help. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres. Give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars. You can find vets in your own area by clicking on the green logo which says “Find Any UK VET”, on the right hand side of the page under the “latest missing dogs” photo - top right. Please email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo of your dog quoting the dog’s Doglost ID number, or upload a photo yourself on “update details” above. You can also add comments and update the dog’s status, e.g.sightings, re-united etc. by clicking on “add a comment” at the bottom of the page. If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and at the same time, check that all details held, are up to date. You can obtain a “MISSING” poster from "view poster" above. You can only print posters when you are signed in. Start postering now! I CANNOT EMPHASISE HOW VERY IMPORTANT THIS IS. If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be re-homed legally, after 7 days if it has no identification (microchip or ID disk attached), so please try to visit rescue centres, to look for your dog. Do not rely on checking by phone alone, as other people may not recognise your dog by your description.
