Thanks JCM - Connie's ears didn't stand up but it is good to know people are still keeping an eye out for her. Well over a year now since she has gone and I still can't believe I have never got her back and that she has disappeared so completely... I saw a similar looking bitch on the train this afternoon (E.Croydon to London Bridge) - she had a distinctive black teardrop under the eye on the white side and ears that stood up. Probably no help, sorry.

connies mum.. im still checking this site and connies page every day shes just got a special little place in my heart i do hope shes home soon and safe , was on a staffie web site other day and there was a bitch just like connie but hen i looked closer there was a slight differance connie was fuller faced and better looking anyway and markings were slightly differant as well ,but as shes differant anyway im sure she will be spotted sooner or later keeping my fingers crossed for you xxxxxxxxx

Thanks Melli - your thoughts help. Star Lane is where there is a big gipsy/traveller site in the Bromley/Orpington/Chislehurst area. The police will not go in there if cars/dogs or anything else for that matter get stolen from that area - at least that is what we have experienced - see little Cilla the pug's story for more information on this. Thanks Melli - no I am afraid no sightings for a long time now. There was a possible sighting quite near here some months ago but I drew a line under it eventually as so many people were looking in the area that I feel sure she would have turned up if she had been there. Now, as I said before, she could be anywhere in the country so I just keep looking and putting up posters where I can. With her microchip it is possible she will come back to me, but not all vets scan for microchips. There is a lot of education needed out there - so many people don't realise how many dogs are stolen. I meant to add that I now think Connie could be anywhere in the country, not just the South East where she was stolen from. Many Staffie owners who have had their pets stolen have been reunited when they have been sold on quickly locally for quick cash. I have postered extensively in the South East and feel certain she would have been seen if she was still here. So now I think she may be West, North... who knows? She has very distinctive markings and is the most friendly and loving dog I have ever come across so I fear whoever has her will not want to give her up, but I live in hope that her microchip will return her to me one day. A couple of dogs from this area have appeared in Essex: have you spoken to all the dog wardens and traveller liaison officers for each area there too? Anywhere easily accessible from the A2 over the bridge/through the tunnel is worth trying.

Hi Connies mum, i'm so sorry that your dog was taking during something so awful, these people just don't care or realise just how much they hurt people, i hope you hear something soon and she is back where she belongs. I though i would also mention Lucky who is a friend of ours JRT that was stolen on boxing day from Swanley, and our pup (see Jake JRT 21/1/05 and Suzy 14/2/05) they may not be contacted but this is all part of the same scam no doubt. Thanks for your message - I too think of you often and of Roxs. Just to let you know I have an advert coming out this week in News Shopper which covers a fair area in South to South East London. This time I have tried to make people think about any Staffy they may have acquired and whether it is chipped and that a vet can verify this.... I had Roxs, JD and Taz in mind - all Staffies from this area stolen recently. I cannot believe the police don't have some idea who these people are who are operating in this area. The 'house burglery' 'car theft' and 'dog theft' are all common elements..... I will tackle the police again shortly. There is a large article in the Kent on Sunday newspapper this last Sunday - JD and Taz's owners. Take care... I know how you feel about Roxs.

It is now over 3 weeks since Connie was stolen. We have put posters up all over the place in the South London area and advertised in local papers. Only one real possible lead and it wasn't Connie. She seems to have vanished. I know people have seen posters cos I keep meeting people who say 'are you the owner of that brown and white' staffie... it makes me feel she is no longer in the area. Will start another poster campaign soon, but difficult to know where to start.

We got OUR Tyson back tonight, we met the thief who called us to say he had purchased Tyson in a car boot sale for ?150, last sunday, he said he wanted that money back i said i only had fifty pounds, so he agreed to meet us. There was a gang of lads, i greeted Ty put him in the car and told him i would only give him the reward if he came to the police station and gave a description of the person that sold Tyson. He said that he couldn,t because he had a police record, i felt a little sorry for him, i told him off for buying the dog and done a deal that when Ty fathers pups he could have one. I figured that it mught go some way to stopping him from getting involved in dog (THEFT) again. PUT UP POSTERS CLOSE TO YOUR HOME. SAY HE HAS BEEN STOLEN PUT POSTERS IN PUBS SCHOOLS SHOPPING ,ALLS AND POST OFFICES. Most dogs are very close to home and have been stolen by drug addicts etc. Within a couple of days you will get a call saying how much has been spent on the dog. Haggle over the amount, DO NOT GO ALONE and inform the police and local dog warden of what you are doing. Good luck and definately have faith. with much love Karen and Tyson and very happy children.
