Hi everyone, sorry I have not written and told you of the excellent news but as you can imagine it has been pretty full on since Friday. Lass has settled well although still very nervous but she is already showing signs of relaxing in our company. She is thin but I am sure that she will put on weight soon. The family that have been feeding are such nice people and came to see Lass yesterday and bought her a nice basket which she has taken to very well and not missing her crate. Children are really happy and making lots of fuss and even the cats are coming to see her. You would not believe the excitement in our village at the news of her return. We owe a lot of people thanks including Dog Lost because without people like you all some of us perhaps would not be reunited with our dogs. A REALLY BIG THANK YOU to you all and big kiss to Steph who set the trap and has kept in touch all the way through, and for your kind words, encouragement and understanding. I will keep you updated to let you know how she is doing. Lisa xxxx

well it seems that our Lass has not been far away at all, we had a phone call from Steph, Dog Warden last week to say someone had seen her between raveleys and upwood, when we went to investigate a gentleman approach us and informed us that he and his wife have been feeding her for weeks. Apparently she has been coming in the garden and taking food and then going again but they can not get anywhere near her. We went over to see them at the weekend and put her crate and bedding in the back garden. They informed me that she has gone in the crate to get food took the soft toys out and pulled the bedding half out, so we are hoping to gain her trust by keep putting the food in and then change the crate for a trap once I have spoken to Steph and then hopefully we will be able to catch her. The little monkey no wonder she has been managing to go for so long.
Auntie Katie
Thank you for your email Lisa, you are doing everything you can and it looks as if she may be moving closer to home. Stay safe little one and come home soon! x

Hi, I have followed up the report of Lass with the lady who spotted her, she was not sure that it was Lass as she did not spot a lead and only saw the back of her. Lass was seen again about 200yds from where we live about two days before feeding out of a ladies garden. I gave the lady some food to see if she would come back but again she did not. Since then she had not returned. The fields that she was seen in is actually farmed by good friends of ours who are looking out for her but they have not seen her. All the fields locally have been combined and therefore she would be spotted easily, I think she is extremely clever and a very good survivor. Please be assured that I have not given up and that there are a lot of people in the area that are still keeping an eye out for her, just keep hoping that she will be found safe soon. Lisa

Hi Lisa what fantastic news!! i know i kept going on about it but what about you just sitting around there with the magic 'bonios' and just calling 'little lass'?? used to work anyway! but obviously she has been away along time, just worth a thought and as you say anything is worth a try!! Pauline

Great that she has been sighted. Come on little girl you need to get home in the warm.xx
lisa
Hopefully had some good news last night Lass has been spotted three times yesterday on a local farm, went to see the lady today and she said it was definetly Lass and that she is still wearing her red lead. She is very thin but she said there was no sign of any injury and the speed that she shot off again at she certainly wasnt slowing down, she said that she has been feeding off her bird table and also eating the food left for a nearby pheasant farm. Anyway we have left some food down and are now going to try and encourage her to keep returning, so if anyone has any good ideas please let me know. She is only about 1.5 miles away as the crow flies. Fingers and everything else crossed everyone hopefully we can get her back soon.

Hi Lisa and family, cannot believe that little Lass is still not home! do you think there is any possiblilty she has wandered into a neighbouring county?? just need her safe now. Thinking of you. Pauline
Auntie Katie
Still no news on little Lass, I hope there is something for her family soon.

Nunts Post should read Hunts Post - tried to edit it but it still shows as Nunts - sorry!

Don't give up Lisa, we're all routing for Lass to wander home of her own accord! I've sent her poster to everyone I can think of, and we're all keeping an eye out for her. If she's been taken in, it might be worth running an ad in the Hunts Post or Eastern Daily Press - we got one of our boys back from an ad in the Nunts Post. Still thinking of you and Lass - everything crossed that she'll be home soon!Last edited: 2010-07-15 21:52:17 by looking for lurchers

Hi, I’m sorry to hear Lass is missing. Someone will try to make personal contact with you as soon as possible, to offer advice and help. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres. Give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars. You can find vets in your own area by clicking on the green logo which says “Find Any UK VET”, on the right hand side of the page under the “latest missing dogs” photo - top right. Please email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo of your dog quoting the dog’s Doglost ID number, or upload a photo yourself on “update details” above. You can also add comments and update the dog’s status, e.g.sightings, re-united etc. by clicking on “add a comment” at the bottom of the page. If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and at the same time, check that all details held, are up to date. You can obtain a “MISSING” poster from "view poster" above. You can only print posters when you are signed in. Start postering now! I CANNOT EMPHASISE HOW VERY IMPORTANT THIS IS. If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be re-homed legally, after 7 days if it has no identification (microchip or ID disk attached), so please try to visit rescue centres, to look for your dog. Do not rely on checking by phone alone, as other people may not recognise your dog by your description.

Poster e mailed out to local helpers.
