- I had a message from Viktorija on Facebook and it appears that someone is taking her posters down locally - having spoken to the local council dog wardens who say they do not remove doglost posters it is possible that someone who has/or took the dog is taking them down?!? I have been in touch with the small dogs rehomer at Battersea Dogs home and she has now downloaded the poster and is keeping an eye out for her - Viktorija also left the dogs details on the answerphone for the 0901 lost dog line for Battersea. I have passed details of the dog to the Newham Council Animal wardens (April) on 0208 586 9739 - who didn't seem to already know of the dog even though over a week has passed since she went missing? (she said Doglost usually send the posters out to them?). Unfortunately the dog warden said that the area is quite rough and that if a dog is missing more than a couple of days they're not usually recovered...there are lots of pitbulls in the area etc. I have kept an eye on epupz and nothing similar has been up for sale recently...will continue to monitor. This dog has no microchip and I have advised Viktorija to get posters out to all of the vets in the area in case anyone brings her in. If anyone on doglost is in the Newham/Beckton area I know Viktorija would appreciate any help you can give. Thanks, Michelle - www.rubyscrumptious.com 07841 517533

- I have spoken with Viktorija today, she was looking after the dog for the owner while they were away. The dog had been left in the garden for maximum 20mins and it is not known if the dog was stolen, got thru a small hole in the fence or whether a fox could've taken it. I have advised Viktorija to contact Battersea Dogs Home lost dog line in case it was handed in and also to make sure all of the local vets are aware of the doglost poster. She has already put posters in the local shops. I have spoken with Pc Suleman in their local Safer Neighbourhood police team and have emailed him the photos & poster. Description/photos/details sent out to all of my members and forwarded to all my contacts. Viktorija has a 2month old baby so will appreciate any assistance from anyone local that is able to leaflet vets/pet shops etc.Unfortunately she is the other side of the Thames from where we are or I would offer, but I will do as much as I can from the computer & phone. - Hi, I’m sorry to hear Deboka is missing. Someone will try to make personal contact with you as soon as possible, to offer advice and help. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres. Give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars. You can find vets in your own area by clicking on the green logo which says “Find Any UK VET”, on the right hand side of the page under the “latest missing dogs” photo - top right. You can also add comments and update the dog’s status, e.g.sightings, re-united etc. by clicking on “add a comment” at the bottom of the page. If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and at the same time, check that all details held, are up to date. You can obtain a “MISSING” poster from "view poster" above. You can only print posters when you are signed in. Start postering now! I CANNOT EMPHASISE HOW VERY IMPORTANT THIS IS. If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be re-homed legally, after 7 days if it has no identification (microchip or ID disk attached), so please try to visit rescue centres, to look for your dog, give them a poster and keep in touch with them every few days.. Do not rely on checking by phone alone, as other people may not recognise your dog by your description.
