- So so sad, my heart goes out to you. She is a beauty, and I hope you can draw some comfort from the fact that whilst she was with you she led a happy life and was very well loved. On a lighter note, she'll be running through the fields in doggy heaven now, and my dearly departed Bruce and Rosie Lee (both white lab/retriever crosses) will look after her x x x

- I'm so so sorry, run free gorgeous girl! x When tomorrow starts without me and I'm not there to see; The sun will rise and find your eyes, all filled with tears for me. I wish so much you wouldn't cry, the way you did today, Remembering how I'd lay my head, In your lap that special way. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you. And each time that you think of me, I know you'll miss me too. But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, That an angel came and called my name, and petted me with her hand. She said my place was ready in Heaven far above, And that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But, as I turned to heel away, a tear fell from my eye, For all my life I never thought, that I would have to die. I had so much to live for, so many sits and downs to do, It seemed almost impossible, that I was leaving you. I thought about our lives together, I know you must be sad, I thought of all the love we shared, and all the fun we had. Remember how I'd nudge your hand, and poke you with my nose? The frisbee I would gladly chase, the bad guy, I'd "bark and hold". If I could relive yesterday, just even for awhile, I'd wag my tail and kiss you, just so I could see you smile. But then I fully realized, that this could never be; For emptiness and memories, will take the place of me. And when I thought of treats and toys, I might miss come tomorrow, I thought of you and when I did, my dog-heart filled with sorrow. But then I walked through Heaven's gate, and felt so much at home; As God looked down and smiled at me, from His beautiful golden throne. He said, "This is eternity, And now we welcome you, Today your life on earth is past, But here it starts anew. I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last; For you see, each day’s the same day, there's no longing for the past. Now you have been so faithful, so trusting, loyal and true; Though there were times you did things, you knew you shouldn't do. But good dogs are forgiven, and now at last you're free; So won't you sit here by my side, and wait right here with me?" So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart. For every time you think of me, I'm right there, in your heart.

- I'm so sorry to hear that Elsa didn't make it home. My thoughts are with her family. Sable, I totally agree with you - how I wish railway lines were more secure. It really is quite unbelievable how many of our lovely dogs loose their lives on the railway lines. This is just heartbreaking. Rest in peace Elsa - sweet dreams beautiful girl... x

- Devastated. Poor baby. Another victim of the railways. They should be completely fenced off so that dogs and children cannot get anywhere near the track. God bless and keep you forever Elsa. xxxxx My thoughts are with Elsa's owners who are clearly devastated.Last edited: 2010-07-17 08:53:21 by Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland

- This morning, I received an email from Elsa's owner. The news I have been dreading.------ "thank you for so quickly sending the advice and putting us in touch with people to help. We really appreciated your sorting out a poster and the speed at which it was circulated. We have tonight had the devastating news that a golden retriever was killed on the railway line right at the arlesey bridge - could have been there since sunday when Elsa went missing. My husband went to the site and although no id was found, they are almost certain that it is Elsa.| am not in a good place right at this moment in time. We will now start to unpick all the notices and messages left to try and find Elsa but would like to thank you all for your help and concern. Kind regards Julie"

- Hi, I’m sorry to hear Elsa is missing. Someone will try to make personal contact with you as soon as possible, to offer advice and help. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres. Give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars. You can find vets in your own area by clicking on the green logo which says “Find Any UK VET”, on the right hand side of the page under the “latest missing dogs” photo - top right. Please email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo of your dog quoting the dog’s Doglost ID number, or upload a photo yourself on “update details” above. You can also add comments and update the dog’s status, e.g.sightings, re-united etc. by clicking on “add a comment” at the bottom of the page. If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and at the same time, check that all details held, are up to date. You can obtain a “MISSING” poster from "view poster" above. You can only print posters when you are signed in. Start postering now! I CANNOT EMPHASISE HOW VERY IMPORTANT THIS IS. If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be re-homed legally, after 7 days if it has no identification (microchip or ID disk attached), so please try to visit rescue centres, to look for your dog, give them a poster and keep in touch with them every few days.. Do not rely on checking by phone alone, as other people may not recognise your dog by your description.
