message from Valerie - Jake has been found ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Great news! Jake has been found safe and sound. Minus muzzle and lead but still wearing his collar. He had been sleeping on a building site for the past 6 days and the workers had been feeding him Polish sausage. His owners are over the moon having him back home. Today they are getting a tag made with their details/phone numbers on it!!!!!

Thank you everyone for your help jake was seen running down turf lane in macclesfield sunday evening my mother had a call from an advert in local co-op but that is all we know. My mother is going to the macclesfield sorting office to talk the posties and see if we can recruit them to give us more eyes out and about and is going to all vets and rescue centres in the area personally so here is hoping.
DogLostRiverlady
Have put on twitter as Macclesfeld SK1.

Just spent the morning putting up posters. Have put mainly along Middlewood way from Bollington to Marple.Have put in Parks in Marple and at Chadkirk estate. Have left one in collection point for milkmen in Hazel Grove so they can keep an eye out. Maybe worth going into Postal delivery in Macc and ask if there is anywhere to leave a poster that their Postmen will see. Have left some on the canal and told the Rangers. fingers crossed xxxLast edited: 2010-07-21 11:18:53 by maddisson

I have crossposted the link to Facebook and several email groups I am on .. hopefully that will mean more people on the look out - I have all fingers crossed that he is found safe and well very soon indeed. Stay safe. I have also posted details on website ~~~~~ http://lostandfoundbordercollies.weebly.com/lost-collies.html

Jake is definitely a sable. I was sent a photo of his daughter who I'm told looks exactly like Jake, but Jake has a slightly "fluffier" coat and the white blaze on the face is wider. A photo of Jake's daughter can be seen on my website: http://bordercolliesneedinghomes.weebly.com/missingstolenfound-dogs---all-breeds.html I hope he is found quickly. As it was near the canal, has anyone searched along the banks?
dollishill
Just talked to a lovely lady called valerie, jake she is telling me is sable he is tan and white with some black hints over him and a very bushy tail im putting up a better picture ive found

Description of Jake on our site says "tan and white" he looks more like a blue merle to me. Can owner confirm this please.
Paula Marie

On Dogpages, report of a found Collie. Found in Warrington, Old Hall area. Male collie or collie x around 5 years old. No one has reported him missing as yet but the people who found him had been told he was seen out on his own yesterday - then seen around Asda Garage, Westbrook. They picked him up curled up at a bus stop

mtbbuxton
Not a nice thought, but the place where Jake went missing is also close to a railway line. Has anybody been in touch with Transport Police?
mtbbuxton
Meant to say, the collie was spotted on Manchester Rd, near to the Devonshie Hospital (as was)
mtbbuxton
Hi Simon, the lady works at HIgh Peak Vets 01298 74252 - she says she saw the collie as she was driving into work, but was unable to stop. Maybe give her a ring and have a word? Sorry I don't know her name, but she's the receptionist and will probably answer the phone. Here's hoping Jake is home soon Moira x
maddisson
okay , have printed and laminated posters so will go out and pin them up.Will go over to Marple which is at the end of the Middlewood way as the Middlewood way is very close to the canal and Jake could very easily cross over. Dollishill, make sure you phone ALL the vets between Congleton and Marple and give descriptions.Do NOT rely on warden or police.!!!
dollishill
going to call dog warden in buxton here's hoping
dollishill

Have dropped some Doglost cards off at my local Vets today and one of the receptionists has just rung me to say that she saw a collie scavenging in some binbags in Buxton Derbyshire. She wondered if it could be Jake? Obviously the dog she saw wasn't muzzled, but I'm wondering if he could have been picked up by someone and then escaped again?
Goldenfrodo
Thanks Ashmark. I've also emailed him on the gmail account. Will phone later today with local places to try.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
