MERLCO is it possible that the paper would run a goodwill story on Oscar. That would keep him in everybodys mind. Thanks Pipski for all you are doing. Still no news on Oscar :((
Pipski Maripski
I've set up a chat on this Cambridge forum site, hoping that someone will read it, 300 people have read it so far, just trying to keep the news going and keep people interested so he sticks in their minds if they see him. Wishing 110% for his safe recovery. http://www.wereallneighbours.co.uk/idlechat/message.php?id=41210&page=1
MERLCO

Flossie
Big Poster advert in Cambridge Evening News (found it online) so come on lets get some phone calls please.
Auntie Katie
I hope the article in todays Cambridge Evening News brings some sightings. Did a poster get taken down to the RSPCA clinic?
Flossie
CEN goes out tomorrow. We went back today and gave out about 100 flyers to people in the park. Just hoping the paper will turn something up.
Gillie
Think the use of other dogs on the search is good idea - they can achieve what we cannot. Please confirm where last seen and we will have a try tomorrow.
Kayinitalix
My spinone girl went missing some months ago, she was scared by a sound and bolted off the lead, she ran for miles and miles and had never been to this area before but surprisingly she had tracked back quite near to where we lost sight of her. She was hiding up under thick gorse bushes she had stayed there all night.a dog belonging to some walkers sniffed her out and rang the local dog warden. Dont give up .
Auntie Katie
Thank you so much to everybody that is helping Jonathon search for Oscar. Can somebody let me know when the issue of CEN with Oscar in goes out so we can bump him - I'm away for another week and a half so won't be able to check the papers. Good Luck - I hope he is home soon. x
Diane
As an owner of a Spinone my heart goes out to you. Will always look out for Oscar & Milo on our many walks. I still look out for Jacob (Bracco)even after all this time. You never know!. Hopefully you will all be reunited very soon. Good luck!
braccoboy
Just to let everyone know that Jonathan has put an ad into the Cambridge Evening News - this newspaper is the biggest publicaion in Cambridge with a wide audience, so I feel something good can come of this ad going in. I think it will be in either today or tomorrow. Janet is over at Cambridge today, and we hope to be able to go ourselves later on in the week too. I hate work getting in the way, but sadly there's nothing we can do about that :o( I've emailed every single person and company I had collated for Jacob, and already he is being listed on many websites and facebook accounts. I also have made an A4 sheet with 4 small posters on it for anyone wanting to print that and hand out. Just email me at haggerwoods@aol.com Most of all we'll keep searching an emailing and hoping that this ad in the Cambridge Evening News will be the one thing to bring him home. Fingers and paws crossed here
Flossie
We are going back out again this morning with little flyers. I don't know the area but thought we would work a bigger circle around Newnham park.
wickedweims
come on everyone please get the posters out lets make this lad TO HOT TO HANDLE

Could it have been a Highway Maintenance vehicle, their cars look similar to police vehicles. Sorry just noticed the comment by braccoboy so ignore me!Last edited: 2010-07-26 22:57:27 by Baddow
Flossie
Jonathan is trying to get pictures of Oscar put into the Cambridge News so lets hope that that will jog someones memory. I can't understand how a big dog can vanish in a city:((
braccoboy
Just a quick update for everyone the police were at this scene but it WASN'T Oscar the dog they picked up was returned to its owner, So we have to start again.
Flossie
It's been a very quiet weekend with no further sightings and we cannot establish who the people with the hi viz jackets were.
Gillie
Have made contact with Wood Green Animal Shelter and they have Oscar in their lost dog listing and will keep a look out for him. Have made contact with link Dogs Trust contact and they will keep special look out for him too.
Gillie
Gillie - Spinone Club Asked contacts at Wood Green and Dogs Trust sites to make sure they keep look out for Oscar. May be worth making direct contact with Wood Green at Godmanchester. Thinking of you. Last edited: 2010-08-02 07:47:27 by Angus
Flossie
Yes it could be possible. The man was adamant it was a police vehicle.
DogLostAngus
It could be possible that these are traffic officers who a seperate from normal police but still have the chequered vehicles
DogLostAngus
Any description of the 4x4 Flossie ? - PLEASE DO NOT POST HERE EMAIL TO Admin@doglost.co.uk id 24256
Flossie
Jonathan has had a call last night from someone to say he had seen Oscar being put in the back of a police 4 x 4 vehicle just along the road from the dentists. Unfortunately it wasn't the police. The men/man had high viz jackets on so we are now trying to find out who they may be. Last edited: 2010-07-25 10:21:46 by Flossie

Hi All I have emailed everyone I can think of that is anything vaguely to do with dogs, tomorrow (Sat)Jon and I will walk the area and poster (you all know how handy I am with the famous staple gun!) I've looked at the area on Google maps and he is pretty able to domino over fields and be having a great time hunting right now. Someone - somewhere around the immediate area must have seen him on Wednesday evening so the sooner those posters can go up the better :o)) Let's hope he'll be home for the weekend Speak to you later today Jonathan/Janet if any of us has any news Last edited: 2010-07-23 09:46:08 by braccoboy
Flossie
Will do.I can help poster if necessary.
Auntie Katie
Hi Flossie, thank you so much for posting and for the help you are giving Jonathan. I have changed the colour as you asked. I have emailed a poster to the Cambridge and Huntingdon Dog Wardens and to Wood Green Animal Shelter but it is worth calling them just to keep Oscar in their minds. Jonathon and I discussed the postering - he really needs to get hundreds and hundreds of poster and flyers of Oscar out there and he needs to take one to the RSPCA clinic in Pool Way on Saturday.
Flossie
Hi I am Oscars breeder. Can I ask you to change his colour to white and orange. I will contact all vets, dog wardens etc tomorrow so Jonathan can go out and poster. Let me know if I can do anything else. Come on Oscar, come on home.

Poster e mailed out to local helpers.

Hi, I’m sorry to hear Oscar is missing. Someone will try to make personal contact with you as soon as possible, to offer advice and help. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres. Give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars. You can find vets in your own area by clicking on the green logo which says “Find Any UK VET”, on the right hand side of the page under the “latest missing dogs” photo - top right. Please You can also add comments and update the dog’s status, e.g.sightings, re-united etc. by clicking on “add a comment” at the bottom of the page. If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and at the same time, check that all details held, are up to date. You can obtain a “MISSING” poster from "view poster" above. You can only print posters when you are signed in. Start postering now! I CANNOT EMPHASISE HOW VERY IMPORTANT THIS IS. If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be re-homed legally, after 7 days if it has no identification (microchip or ID disk attached), so please try to visit rescue centres, to look for your dog. Do not rely on checking by phone alone, as other people may not recognise your dog by your description.
