Delighted to say that Spotty is now back home, had a call earlier this evening and it turned out to be him. Thanks to everyone who helped.

Thanks Sharon57blue for the suggestion - much appreciated. However he is not the pointer cross you mention. Spotty is of definite dalmatian size and appearance - white with black spots and black ears. We are frantically trying to find a photo to put on the website. He is a rescue dog, so exact age and breeding is not known, but from the shape of his head we believe he's dalmatian x staffie. He is a young dog (neutered) and has been microchipped since our ownership (he was not before). He is friendly but may appear nervous - we believe this may be because of previous mistreatment as he chews everything in the house, which is probably why he was "dumped" prior to our finding him. We have searched the woods where he went missing and tried everything but there is no sign. Our fear is that someone has taken him and he has been stolen but, that because of the chewing habit, he may again be abandoned - tho if this happens in the same woods he should find his way home again. If anyone reading this knows of anyone (neighbour, for example) who has recently acquired a dog matching this description, please let us know.

I have seen this dog on another site described as a dalmation cross, I don't suppose that there is any chance it could be the pointer cross on the DL found page?

Hi, I’m sorry to hear Spotty is missing. Someone will try to make personal contact with you as soon as possible, to offer advice and help. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres. Give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars. You can find vets in your own area by clicking on the green logo which says “Find Any UK VET”, on the right hand side of the page under the “latest missing dogs” photo - top right. Please email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo of your dog quoting the dog’s Doglost ID number, or upload a photo yourself on “update details” above. You can also add comments and update the dog’s status, e.g.sightings, re-united etc. by clicking on “add a comment” at the bottom of the page. If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and at the same time, check that all details held, are up to date. You can obtain a “MISSING” poster from "view poster" above. You can only print posters when you are signed in. Start postering now! I CANNOT EMPHASISE HOW VERY IMPORTANT THIS IS. If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be re-homed legally, after 7 days if it has no identification (microchip or ID disk attached), so please try to visit rescue centres, to look for your dog. Do not rely on checking by phone alone, as other people may not recognise your dog by your description.
