- Maddies story..
http://www.newburytoday.co.uk/News/Article.aspx?articleID=16135 - 2011-03-04 13:31 Sally
- HI, Its Maddies Mum, I am every so slowly getting over the shock at getting Maddie back, she has had a good first week, but is probably sick of the vets! She is on treatment for her Mange, has been revaccinated, wormed and chipped. Her diet has returned to normal and she is very very happy to be home. Spent first few days sleeping but apart from hairloss is back to her normal self and thoroughly enjoying being home. I can't thank Doglost and of course Airpets enough...I am forever in your debt. Sally xxx

- Reading this has brought tears of joy to my eyes!! If only she could talk & explain where she has been & how she has survived so long. It gives hope to those missing dogs who have been gone a while, like Eva & Violet.

- WHAT A FANTASTIC REUNITED STORY. 7 MONTHS IS SUCH A LONG TIME TO LIVE THROUGH AND OWNERS MUST BE SO HAPPY AND RELIEVED.

- IT WAS HER!!!!!
I would like to say a HUGE THANKS to AIR PETS at Heathrow for Checking on Doglost and for the fantastic crossmatching of Maddie....it wasnt easy as poor Maddie is suffering from mange and had lost quite alot of her hair but she had some distinguishing features which could not of been ignored!...and also to thank staff at Air Pets for opening up last night so owner could come and check to see if it was Maddie.
About 5 minutes before Maddies owner turned up,she started jumping all over her kennel like she knew her mum was coming!,Once her mum was there she just threw herself into her arms and there was no Question about who she was...I must say hearing the story I wish I could of been there,it brought a tear to my eye..Areunited picture will follow once Maddie has settled a bit...she was missing 7 months to the day!
Wellcome Home Maddie...Big Hugs from all at Doglost.XXXXXXX - 2011-02-27 00:55 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West

- This is probably not the dog so I don't want to get your hopes up but when I visited the farm shop at Hare Hatch Nurseries yesterday, there is a poster up in the window for a female lurcher. I think it was longer haired and black and white but can't remember exactly. The person who found it contacted the lurcher resue. It was a female dog and not micro-chipped. A very friendly dog. Please let it be yours!!

- Talked to owner.Maddie was outside whilst they were gardening and seems to have wandered off which is very unusual for her. Vets, dog warden rescues all informed. Given owner advice. Photo should be on site asap, Maddie was wearing a red collar and disc. She is medium in size and rough coated.

- Hi, I’m sorry to hear Maddie is missing. Someone will try to make personal contact with you as soon as possible, to offer advice and help. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres. Give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars. You can find vets in your own area by clicking on the green logo which says “Find Any UK VET”, on the right hand side of the page under the “latest missing dogs” photo - top right. Please email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo of your dog quoting the dog’s Doglost ID number, or upload a photo yourself on “update details” above. You can also add comments and update the dog’s status, e.g.sightings, re-united etc. by clicking on “add a comment” at the bottom of the page. If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and at the same time, check that all details held, are up to date. You can obtain a “MISSING” poster from "view poster" above. You can only print posters when you are signed in. Start postering now! I CANNOT EMPHASISE HOW VERY IMPORTANT THIS IS. If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be re-homed legally, after 7 days if it has no identification (microchip or ID disk attached), so please try to visit rescue centres, to look for your dog, give them a poster and keep in touch with them every few days.. Do not rely on checking by phone alone, as other people may not recognise your dog by your description.
