just wanted to say huge thanks to everyone at doglost for the miraculous finding of tubby. we're amazed how she ended up so far from home but it is definitely her. in answer to microchip query, we think her original owner had her micro-chipped but we never updated the details (so she may not have been chipped at all & the elderly lady has since died). we're looking into getting her chipped as this has been a traumatic experience. we're so happy she's home & will definitely be making sure she doesn't go missing again. thanks again for all your help, we'd never have found her without you. :)

Hi Everybody, good news that Vera aka Tubby got to go home and thanks to Adele for alerting us. I have to say that we do have a couple of concerns. Vera fits the description of Tubby perfectly ie. small for an adult, tongue sticking out, clipped etc. but we are worried that this dog was picked up so far away from where she was lost and also we didn't find a chip. She also came in wearing a red collar and when she went missing she didn't have a collar on (although the collar she is wearing does look pretty new). I was wondering, just to put our minds at rest that we haven't given the wrong dog back whether the owners could just take Vera aka Tubby to a vets and check for a chip please? Coryn (RDR)

The chip had old details on it as they had never been updated and so the number would not have been recognisable :(

Tubby's owner's have now been informed and are visiting the found dog today or tomorrow, the details of the found dog do match those of Tubby. I have everything crossed here! Adele x

I have alerted Coryn at Rochdale Dog Rescue to a dog that they have named "Vera" see her pic further down on the urgent dogs link http://www.rochdale-dog-rescue.com/urgentdogs.html Coryn is at work at the moment but kennel staff are comparing details. Fingers crossed that this old girl is Tubby and we can see her home safely where she should be! The RDR dog has also recently been clipped and could be viewed as a cross due to the short hair cut..everything crossed for her! Adele

thanks for the suggesting the dog found in Wirral. i've checked out the photo & it's definitely not Tubby. so the search continues

Spoken to owner, their phone has been out of order which includes the Internet, Tubby is still missing. There is a similar looking dog to her in the Wirral Pound, found date does say 2 Aug 2010, owner is going to get a family member to check it out. Fingers crossed she is back home soon. Good luck. Have now spoken to the owner.. owner feels that Tubby would not be able to survive very long on her own, she has no road sense and her owner feels like she would be involved in an RTA if she got anywhere near a road... she lives on a busy road and so i have now contacted the local council to ask if any RTA's had been reported.. i have left my details with them. Have advised owner to contact local vets & rescue's asap..if handed in to she would be taken to Halewood RSPCA. I hope Tubby is found safe very soon. Adele x
