Owner and kennels exchanging photos, it would be amazing if the found lurcher is Megan, fingers crossed.

I have emailed Megan's owner with the link, hope to get a reply either way over the weekend.

could this be a match with 33222 found lurcher in South west. Looks similar, although no chip found in usual place.

I know this has been emailed directly to the owner by Poochpal but I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to stick it on here! Looks a good match, especially the rear left paw!!

We've gone quiet on here...have we had any more sightings? Have you tried scent marking the area that she was seen in? Dog trap maybe?

Bill, I am delighted to hear a sighting has been reported. I see from Google Maps it is around 20 miles away, which is a reasonable estimate of the distance Megan might cover in 5 weeks if moving through the countryside rabbiting as she goes along. If she is working along a triangular territory that makes it a pretty big one, but not unheard of. I do hope you get some more sightings.
Goldenfrodo
Good luck. Hope Megan is safely back home with you very soon.

Fliers now emailed to Bill for letterbox posting. By now if Megan had just been shocked and bruised she would be recovering from that and coming out of hiding now to look for food, are there any local places that she would go looking for rabbits?
looking for lurchers
I know it's impossible, but try not to worry too much Bill. Our Megan look-a-like (Rory) went missing earlier this year - we had no sightings at all but was found a week later safe and well. He had been taken in by someone. If you don't hear anything in a day or two it might be worth running an ad or two in the local papers, in case she's been taken in by a well-wisher who has fallen in love with her. Your insurance might help with the costs. We've got all our fingers and paws crossed she comes home soon.

Have tweeted link to people mentioning Church Stretton......hikers, eco warriers + others. Tweets are like cyber flyers/posters + help to spread the word.
Bill
Bill - Megans owner, Still absolutely no news. Church Stretton is a small place and pretty well everyone knows Meg, so how she can dissapear so completely is a mystery. Just want to thank you all for your help and support. Put out new posters here and in the two adjoining villages yestyerday and will try to keep hopeful - BillLast edited: 2010-08-23 11:54:16 by Bill

If no sightings, I think it would be a good thing to do flyers over the same area in a day or two, just to let everyone know she is still out there.
DogLostOwl
Post lady has already contacted all houses in her area, but it might be an idea to extend the area in case Megan moves further afield.
DogLostGlynafon
would it be practicable to put flyers through the doors of houses in the area asking people to check their gardens sheds etc?

Wispa and I went to Church Stretton yesterday to see if we could help Megan's people. Megan was hit while crossing a single track road between her home and a small park opposite. This was in a cul-de-sac very late at night, it was past 11 pm. 3 carloads of noisy young people came through the cul de sac very fast, Megan's dad managed to get hold of their other dog who is very old and arthritic but the 3rd car clipped Megan who took off at some speed. All cars screeched to a halt and the young people raced after Megan shouting which frightened her. She was last seen running down the old Ludlow to Shrewsbury road which runs parallel to the main A49. Wispa did manage to get a trail and we followed it down that road through Little Stretton all the way to the junction where it veers across to join the A49. Trail then went back up the A49 for a while then cut through to loop back to the original road. We had followed a kind of long triangle and think Megan may be holed up somewhere either inside it or close to the edge of it. Fortunately the stock fencing is so good that she is unlikely to have got into the fields and woods over on the east side of the A49. The post lady has kindly informed all the houses along that road. They are detached and a few semi detached houses with large gardens, with sheds, decking and abundant mature shrubs and hedges. Loads of places to hide, and very hard to search. We were searching for about 2 1/2 hours which is Wispa's concentration limit and were very sad not to find Megan, but at least hope we have narrowed down the area and are cheered by the amount of local support.

Sorry I'm not local, but have posted details of Megan on Facebook and asked friends to share, hopefully someone will be close by and help to find her. Hurry home sweetheart, your owners need to know you are OK.

I have bumped Megan to the top today as the owner has asked reward to be added. Megan needs to be found urgently as she may have been injured when clipped by the car. Please check all outbuildings, under bushes etc, any where that she could be hiding.
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
Megan was clipped by a car at 11.30 Tuesday night outside her house but then ran off and she has not been seen since. Owners have postered and searched the area and notified all authorities. Photo will be emailed ASAP. Megan is a large 7 year old deerhound x. Correct number now added.

Number now changed so that any calls will be to Doglost.
