- Thank you for letting us know. How sad. I knew of a Rotty that the same thing happened to years ago. She went missing in the woods, we all searched & her body was found by a rabbit hole. She and Rikki probably died doing what they enjoyed most. Hard for us but not a bad way for a dog to go. So sorry Hayley.

- Folly, we suspect Rikki went quickly and peacefully whilst running due to possible undiagnosed DCM. He was found by Will and his tracker dog Max not too far from where he was last seen running with his family. I'll pass on all of your messages to Hayley, thank you everyone. xxx

- Sadly Rikki has been found, unfortunately he has gone to The Rainbow Bridge, thanks to one of Dobermann Rehoming Association forum members brother in law and his tracking dog, Hayley now has Rikkis collar and some closure. We're all thinking of her ........

- HI. I have sent your poster off to a lady at Christchurch Council. She has forwarded your details onto the dog wardens for Christchurch and Bournemouth and also advised the 'Open Spaces Officers'. Something will turn up soon I am sure. My old dog did this years back. He was missing for most of the day but turned up in the same area. I'm sure Rikki will not have gone far.

- The area is now very well postered. Well done to all of you. I shall put some in West Moors plantation as it is literally only just across the A31. I'll also drop some in to St Leonard's hospital. Hayley, if Rikki is spotted and you need help quickly, please ring me on 01202 855097 and I'll come straight away if I can (any time.) If you want to organise a search, please also count me in. Sandy

- 2010-08-22 14:22 sandobes
- Have sent lot of emails / faxes to vets, kennels etc etc that I could find all over the area - OK some may be duplicated but can't hurt to emphasise still missing. Hope he is soon found.
- 2010-08-22 13:23 Niki

- I've emailed a pic to Sandobes who is making posters for tomorrow, it's just a headshot of him in his bed though.
- 2010-08-21 19:51 Folly
- Thanks, I'll head that way in the morning. I wish he was heading away from Matchams. There is banger racing in Matchams every Sunday so postering the area would be very beneficial. Is there a chance of the photo being done soon, even a library one would help as Dobes don't vary that much to the untrained eye. Need to show a docked one though.
- 2010-08-21 19:29 Angela C
- Folly. He was last seen heading in the direction of Matchams Lane if that's any help.
- 2010-08-21 19:11 Niki
- I am hoping to get some posters from Rikki's owner in the morning so will put them up asap, Ive walked with Ricks owner on a few occasions and he has always been ok with other dogs
- 2010-08-21 18:48 Folly
- I live very near and am willing to go out searching. Please could the owners be specific about where Rikki was last seen as Hurn Forest has many access points? Is he good with other dogs(bitches)? I could easily take some Goldens with me and walk in the area. I hope he cannot easily get to the A338 as it is so busy at the best of times but extra so with the airshow visitors.
- 2010-08-21 17:05 Reynard
- trying to send an email so owner has instuctions and can either send me the photo or send to admin@doglost.co.uk who will be able to crop and upload photo so helpers can download the poster but it has not been excepted ? Do I have correct email addy?Last edited: 2010-08-21 17:06:55 by Reynard

- Any news / sightings? Sorry not local but get him postered everywhere in area and hand out flyers. As soon as have pic or similar dog for poster can email / fax to vets, kennels etc etc. if not already done.

- Sorry to see Rikki is missing. Someone will try to make personal contact with you as soon as possible, to offer advice and help. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres. Give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars. You can find vets in your own area by clicking on the green logo which says “Find Any UK VET”, on the right hand side of the page under the “latest missing dogs” photo - top right. Please email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo of your dog quoting the dog’s Doglost ID number, or upload a photo yourself on “update details” above. You can also add comments and update the dog’s status, e.g.sightings, re-united etc. by clicking on “add a comment” at the bottom of the page. If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and at the same time, check that all details held, are up to date. You can obtain a “MISSING” poster from "view poster" above. You can only print posters when you are signed in. Start postering now! I CANNOT EMPHASISE HOW VERY IMPORTANT THIS IS. If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be re-homed legally, after 7 days if it has no identification (microchip or ID disk attached), so please try to visit rescue centres, to look for your dog, give them a poster and keep in touch with them every few days.. Do not rely on checking by phone alone, as other people may not recognise your dog by your description.
