- e mail from owner: God news, out of bad news. Roly the whippet was knocked by a car, the police were called and he was taken to an out of hours vet who had his dog lost poster in the surgery. He had been running loose for 9 nights. So hungry, thin and a sore from the knock by the car he is now recouperating back with his family, sleeping a lot and not letting them out of his sight. Thank you for all your help, cheers Shirley

- I live in Leeds 14 and will keep an eye out for him, will also tell friends and family. Would be a good idea to take a poster to your local postal sorting office, my hubby is a postie and they do keep an eye out if their aware of any lost pets and they do cover a wide area. Hope this was helpful, and do so hope Roly is home soon. Also are there any travellers in your area? If so you could get in touch with the Travellers Liason Officer at Leeds City Council to see if they could possibly look out for him too.

- Hi, Would just let you know that I inadvertantly put the breeders name down as the whippets name. He is ROLY, so if a co-ordinator could change it for me I would be very grateful. Roly has only been in this are for a few months so will not know the area well. He is missed terribly by his owner and her two children. PLEASE HELP FIND HIM. I will try and get some poster out, many thanks Shirley

- Sorry to see your dog is missing. Thank you for registering with doglost. If not already done so you need to contact Dog wardens, Rescues and Vets. Please try and personally visit Rescue Centres wherever possible. It is not always a good idea to rely solely on telephone calls. Dogs can be rehomed after 7 days so this is extremely important. It is also very important that you poster heavily. If at all possible please keep us updated with regards to who you have contacted and the areas in which you have postered etc. This can be done by using the + Add a comment feature. Good luck. Hope he is safely home soon
