- Thanks, Paddy. Contacted owner today, we are putting up more posters over next few days, and I suggested she contact the breed rescue.

- i've circulated her details to the apdt and jap spitz yahoo groups. Sorry I can't help more (I'm in lincoln). Given the dog walker could not catch her, is she nervous? Or now just scared?

- I got Wynter mentioned on Radio London's dog programme last night. And her owner was alerted of a POSSIBLE SIGHTING on Fordwych Rd, NW2 yesterday, very close to where she went missing.......please let it be her! More posters going up in area and friends looking out.

- At leasst the news of Wynter's dissapearance is spreading which can only be good. The only definite sighting (I reckon) was by my dogwalker friend at Fryent Way, NW9 0n 25th Aug....she knows her breeds and was an hour trying to catch her so got a good look. Will continue the search and please don't give up hope, Liz.

- I have just received a phone call from a cab driver syaing that he may have seen wynter in labroke grove and she was being walked by two or three young men.. he thought it was strange as he normally sees people in the area with stafs and pits... he said this was three days ago...i feel lost now... as she may hev been seen a few days ago by the man in hampstead heath

- Well done lesleyjane they made contact via a doglost poster on the Heath...must have been one of yours!

- Thanks lesleyjane, the more people that know about this potential sighting the better, especially fellow dog walkers. I have spoken to Wynter's owner & let her know about this as well as giving her the contact of the person who reported this. Fingers crossed this gives us a lead.

- Wow, I postered the Heath yesterday, so hope we can get more info about this sighting, I will call the owner to see if she got any more info. There's a dogwalker I know who goes to the Heath every day so will alert him, too.

- Sighting phoned into Doglost. A man was spotted with a white dog that he called Wynter on the Heath last evening about 6pm...he had 6 other dogs with him. have left message for owner to ring the person who spotted her for more info on the man and area he walks his dogs.

- No more sightings of Wynter. I have postered in parks, at pet shops, given poster to dustmen and posted info on gumtree.Dog wardens in several boroughs informed. It's been a week now since she went missing, any more suggestions?
- 2010-08-28 14:03 lesleyjane
- I have reported her to NAWT in Watford and given them owner's details.
- 2010-08-28 13:55 lesleyjane
- Yes, Aunt Stef, I too am sure she is on the run and hope the advice to owner helps, she is devastated. At least the better weather and hol weekend means more people are around, I was out looking at Fryent Country Park today.Still not sure if the Roe Green sighting was Wynter as dog's details sketchy, but it is possible she has strayed there. Will carry on the search of course.

- thank you everyone for all the help and support i really appreciate it. and hope wynter comes home soon as she is missed dearly. i can not express my gratitude thank you soooo much x

- Have just spoken to Wynter's owner & given some advice to help here.It sounds as if Wynter is still on the run & not wanting to go to anyone so the scenting plan is probably the best way at the moment. All the London rescues will be notified as well as the vets just incase someone does find Wynter & takes her there.

- Have sent owner a text offering help. Thanks so much for all your help here lesleyjane. Good that DW,vets etc are aware as well as dogwalkers.Sightings coming in are really good news,I will send Wynter's owner our advice on scenting the area with familiar items such as dog's bedding or socks etc from the family's wash basket. These as well as setting up a feeding routine all help to keep Wynter in the same area.

- Good comment, Natalie. I drove round Roe Green but no luck, am dropping off posters at local vets and continuing to spread the word as it seems she is around NW9 somewhere. Fingers crossed.

- just thought i would remind everybody that not everybody will know what a japanese spitz is and so when contacting dog wardens, kennels etc be sure to give a full description and also keep an eye out for found samoyeds and similar breeds that she could be confused with! Natalie

- Have emailed advice. Sorry to hear that Wynter is missing. Someone will try to make personal contact with you as soon as possible, to offer advice and help. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres. Give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars. You can find vets in your own area by clicking on the green logo which says “Find Any UK VET”, on the right hand side of the page under the “latest missing dogs” photo - top right. As soon as a photo is added mailings will be sent out to all local helpers who will help in the search for your dog. You can also add comments and update the dog’s status, e.g.sightings, re-united etc. by clicking on “add a comment” at the bottom of the page. If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and at the same time, check that all details held, are up to date. You can obtain a “MISSING” poster from "view poster" above. You can only print posters when you are signed in. Start postering now! I CANNOT EMPHASISE HOW VERY IMPORTANT THIS IS. If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be re-homed legally, after 7 days if it has no identification (microchip or ID disk attached), so please try to visit rescue centres, to look for your dog. Do not rely on checking by phone alone, as other people may not recognise your dog by your description.
