Sadly April was never found. Her owner was devastated and remains so all this time later.
She was so very grateful for the support and help doglost gave in trying to bring her baby home

One long year since April went missing, presumed stolen and after so very much effort she has still not been found. Her owner misses her every day still and despite the tears has not give up hope she she accepts now April may have passed over the bridge. Thank you all again here at Doglost for your fantastic practical advice, physical help and emotional support during those especially hard first few weeks when mom was ill in hospital and we tried so hard to find April. If any of you feel able to spread the word re her facebook page again I would be very grateful. Thank you all again.

angel.*
call from public reporting couple with female pug activing oddly in vicinity of sightings, caller had contacted police who said they would look into it and get to back to them within a week...but never did. Investigated myself and found female pug indeed living in area of sightings but only a yr old and sadly not April, owner was very helpful :-(
angel.*
April appears on PAGE 7 of THE BOSTON TARGET newspaper 23-2-11. Big advert so fingers crossed :-)
angel.*
Hi, Thanks for moving April up again...The call to my home was a bolt out of the blue,my mom took the call...it has filled her with hope again yet we have had many tears. More hours driving round to no avail. We have alerted everyone again, vets, dog warden, rescue centres etc etc and paid to take out an advert in the BOSTON TARGET WEDNESDAY ...seems odd the little pug was seen in the same area as prev..its been almost six months !! also this pug had a collar...why let yr dog wander loose? its all v confiusing..i guess it could even be a hoax but my mom said it was an elderly lady who seemed genuine. Thanks again for trying to help xx

I have added photo etc to my facebook page as I live in Boston. Also on Spalding and Kirton pages. Hope you find April soon.I'll take a drive around Granville Street tomorrow too.
mandym
Hope April is found soon. Ive posted pic on my facebook page....
AlisonH
Angel has had a phone call today from a lady who saw a Pug wearing a red collar wandering alone at the top of Granville Street, same area as previous sightings. The lady approached the Pug but it growled at her when she tried to touch it. Owner has been out looking but so far no luck. Bumping due to sighting.
AlisonH
Thanks Sue i will notify the owner.
B30
Advertised in The Countryman's Weekly magazine. I hope it brings some news.
AlisonH
Kid thank you for continuing to look for April I too am ever hopefull that we will find her one day.

Really sad to hear there is still no news on April :(

Even though it had been some time since I had seen this page, I always remember it. When I was in a local park recently (Hackney), I saw a little pug dog with their tongue sticking out just like April. But the little dog I saw was a boy so I knew it couldn't have been her. But it goes to show you, she will always stick in peoples heads so I hope that helps you be reunited one day.

Your last post is so very sad angel, you clearly love April very much xxx
Shereen
Thinking of April,Added to my FB page.xxx
angel.*
Thank you yet again everyone, very sadly nothing to report. Mom remains devastated.I still find myself driving round the places we think she was sighted...round and round...but i know its futile....whoever has her clearly has no plans to let her go home...either that or...well,it doesnt bear thinking about, poor little April.By now she will have needed to see a vet,i doubt she has. The advert in the paper selling adult femail pug never came to anything sadly, seller unhelpful, cant locate buyer. Can only but pray she is warm, well fed and ok or else that her end came swiftly and painlessly now. Thanks so very very much again and again everyone here xxxxxxxx
AlisonH
It's been over 2 months now since little April disappeared and still no news. She is out there somewhere so everyone please keep spreading the word.
Scampsfamily
Hi Angel, Can you put an advert in the paper asking for the people who bought the dog following the advert last week if they can get in touch - They ovbiously read the paper - Hope April is found soon xx
AlisonH
Keep hold of that mobile number, will call you.
angel.*

So pleased they finally printed the story. Fingers crossed.

AT LAST ...April has an article today in the BOSTON STANDARD NEWSPAPER !! It talks about how she went missing from a secure back gardne august bank hol (doesnt mention the scruffy old little mixed breed dog with her didnt disappear tho). It failed to include photos but links to the doglost site and her facebook page. The story is pretty good size and top right on page 3 so God willing we may catch some new people and maybe get some news. Mom is so delighted about this development and pinning all her hopes on it. I am selling some things on ebay to be able to make more posters etc to try new areas locally... praying hard for some news in next couple of days now x
angel.*
Hi AvaDog,we have spoken but i would like to thank you agauin for your so very generous offer that my mom and i didnt feel we could accept. We have both been touched by the kind hearted people. We are planning to sell some stuff, maybe do a car boot sale to raise some more funds as we dont want to dip into the reward money and mom thinks it would help if we could offer more. I spoke to the paper again today and they will "try" to rin something tomorrow they say tho they said that 3 weeks ago. Otherwise nothing new. I will have to try get some more posters made up and replace the ones that have been ripped down again. Otherwise now i truly dont know what more we can do. Thank you again to everyone here for being so wonderful xxxx
Ava Dog
I still check regularly and wish I was closer so I could help in the search. Won't the Boston Standard run the article this week instead? I would be happy to make a small donation towards helping you keep on advertising April's disappearance. Perhaps other DogLost supporters might be willing to do the same. I will email you separately.
angel.*
I am gutted... the local paper THE BOSTON STANDARD having interviewd my mom and I and promising to do an article with photos on April let us down. Nothing. I know there was a murder but to be honest there was very little on it...so dissapointed...we had pinned so many hopes on reaching new people and simply cant afford to put our adverts in the TARGET anymore as its £120 a week...... poor little April....it feels she is forgotten...nobody asks about her, posters torn down or water logged,it feels like i let her down because i ran out of money to do more and now nobody is bothered..i am so grateful for all the help and support received here and from the bottom of my heart and on behalf of my mom too...THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH XXXXXXLast edited: 2010-10-16 21:28:16 by angel.*
AlisonH
Don't feel guilty about your new puppy, treasure every moment, not your fault April went missing. We will keep on searching for April.
angel.*
Nothing new sadly. I am hoping the BOSTON STANDARD will be running their story this wednesday although there was a murder and double stabbing in the streets where April was sighted so often so suspect much of the paper will be concerned by that and it also means i have had to stay away from the area recently so no more searching. Six weeks now since April went missing. My new puppy which i have been waiting for since it was born is now with me which makes everything seem even worse for my mom.... she misses her girl so much and feels so guilty about even looking at my pup. I just cant believe we havent found her ........
AlisonH
So good to hear the calls are still coming in Angel.Let's hope the newspaper article will finally get you the lead you so deserve after all your hard work.
angel.*
well, woman rang today to say for the last two days she has seen a girl about 12 years with a pug on THE PARK ADJACENT TO SLEAFORD RD/WOODVILLE ROAD at around 3.30/4pm . She travels the same road daily and has never seen it there before. Typically i am working the next few days and will be hard pressed to get there before 4.30 but will do my best. I also spent quite some time with an editor at BOSTON STANDARD NEWSPAPER who is going to run a full story on Aprils dissapearance, the sightings, malicious calls, poster removal and how very distressed my mom, her owner is.Mom hopes that even if someone wont give her back maybe they will anonymously let her know that April is ok...ts the not knowing that hurts so much. Hopefully the article will be in on Wednesday !! :-)
angel.*
No new sightings... i am speaking with the editor of another local paper on Monday and we hope they are going to run a news article about April. People now ringing up just to see if we have found her yet! its very kind of them but the minute they say... " i am ringing about your lost dog" i build my hopes up. Poor mom still struggling and tormenting herself with all the "what if's"..... poor little April i only hope she is safe, warm, with a full tummy and being loved. Come show yourself little one our mummy needs you home x
AlisonH
Good for you angel. If you pester them at the police station often enough they might do something just to get you off their backs. Afterall if this guy did have her and has sold her on then he is handling stolen goods.
angel.*
i again contacted the person who said they had seen a pug at a certain boston address, i received an abusive text back, badly spelt clearly with the intention of trying to cinvince me they r not english. They state it was there but is not now and they have no idea where it is. will go into police station tomorrow but cant think they can do much (or be willing to)
Ava Dog
I just wanted to offer my support to you, Angel. I've been following April's disappearance since the start and check daily to see whether she has been reunited with her Mum. The staffie story sounds ever so fishy to me. Is it possible to get the police involved with this possible lead or are they just not interested? Do keep checking with the vets and rescues as the onus is usually on the owner rather than the finder. I will continue checking and praying every day for a happy ending soon for you. Try not to ever give up on April, Angel. I know it must be so difficult and tiring.
AlisonH
Angel I really don't think you have missed anything. When the sightings stopped coming in it could be that she was taken out of the area so if you haven't done so already widen your search. She will at some point have to visit a vet so keep her profile high and make everyone aware that she is STILL MISSING.
angel.*
A month missing today. I can hardly believe the time has gone by so quickly. No calls or sightings, suddenly the trail went cold. My mom heart broken and i have failed to bring April home to her. I am out of ideas, hundreds posters everywhere, adverts in papers, thousands flyers thro doors,on cars, handed out in town on busy market days, scent trails, word of mouth, phone calls, days and nights of physical searching and calling for her.... i just dont know what else to do??? thank you to you all for your help and support,is there anything i have missed?
muns
This is SO strange. All those sightings and then nothing makes me think someone has taken her in. Someone must know where this girlie is. PLEASE let Angel know-she has so much to do with her Mom and her twins. Well done for keeping going Angel. Soemthing will happen soon I feel sure. x
angel.*
Hi,thanks for yr support everyone.I had a text.saying. April at an address but occupants at that address say def not tho admit they did get a.dog 2 weeks ago but they gave it away... they say it was a staffie. Person who text has ignored my texts and calls. Tomorrow I will start postering new areas at random,I don't know what else to do x

I am so sorry to hear about April - did cry reading this page!!! Please do not give up hope April is out there somewhere and although it seems everything you are doing is to no avail it will pay off - Please keep looking for your mums baby as hard as it is. April will be home soon i am certain of it - If someone does have her and everyone knows she is missing someone one day will come forward - People have to know about April and how she is not just a beloved pet she is also your mums daily helper. I am so sorry to you and your family for the pain you are going through and gutted I am not local to this otherwise I would join the search. Come home April your mummy needs you.!!!!! xx
AlisonH
Unfortunately the tip off we got was the same address as the one the police had already checked out for us a couple of weeks ago when it turned out to be a male Pug. Big disappointment for us all but goes to show that people are still looking out for April.

I didn't realise your mum was deaf and relied on April to alert her to the doorbell. Angel I am so sorry the poster are being taken down. Try and get the local news channel to run a story. April is out there somewhere, someone must know something. I have sent an email to Look North asking for their help. They may not be interested but I thought it worth a try.Last edited: 2010-09-20 14:38:08 by AlisonH

I am fighting a losing battle. Overnight 8 posters in one road alone torn down. That's another £50 in printer ink to make more. Gutted
angel.*
3 weeks missing today and no sightings since last week. Mom will be discharged today but can't face going home without her precious baby...... it breaks my heart. Will spend the whole day searching
muns
I am sure she is still around Angel. It just goes like this sometimes....a few days with nothing and then a glut of calls. It's awful getting these scam calls and I guess they withhold their numbers...if not tell the police about them. I am hoping and praying she will surface again today and be caught.
angel.*
No news sadly. More hoax calls yesterday claiming to have her but demanding the reward before they hand her over. Raining heavily so she won't b wandering around. Drove round until midnight but nothing. I think she has gone
Mollychops
come home April you have eluded Angel for way too long. Show yourself now . Angel you are doing such an amazing job here, please dont give up, we are all here for you XX
AlisonH
Angel I know it's hard but you must not give up hope. Dogs on the run are very good at not being caught they instinctively hide away from people but eventually she will be ready to give herself up. Stay positive.
DogLostRiverlady
April is still on twitter trying to find kind locals to help with search.
angel.*
Lots of people around in all the streets but no little April. Sadly heading home as children long since past bedtime.....I am sure.she's there but almost lost hope now if fetching her home to my mom
angel.*
Still driving around, still nothing. A v kind lady pug owner helped look a while today,a man told her he has seen a pug on sleaford road several mornings but as not local didn't realise missing. Pretty dark now..... I just ran after a cat .....children fed up but pressing on as late as I can since no school tomorrow. Thanks everyone for yr good wishes, mom back in hospital away,I didn't even get to see her as April hunting.... Better press on x
DogLostAngus
Thinking of you angel - saying a little prayer that today may be the day x

Sat in Sydney St with bag of dog treats hoping and praying. Mom in local hospital today so if I get April we can visit before she transferred back.......it was around this time yesterday
angel.*
Still not got her back despite two calls within in an hour saying pug in Sydney St. It joins all the other roads sightings reported. Got their asap but with Roadworks itsfrustrating never mind half say school. Foreign lady saw pug Sydney St yesterday but was going work so left it.stranger rang tonight,so kindly had been to look but nothing. I truly believe she is there but why nobody cancatch her I don't know. All sightings same streets but they all terraced with back to back gardens and passages.spent all afternoon hunting, replacing yet more ripped off posters and more.fliers. mom is coming across to PILGRIM for a procedure tomorrow then back to Lincoln Fri and all being well discharge Monday.... she doesn't want to go home without her baby so I must find April. Will pay for advert in local press again next Wed as it does keep awareness up even tho we not catching her. Thanks again everyone. Was delighted to see doglost in main headlines really poppy tonight too. Fantastic x
muns
Wow Glad there has been another sighting and it would be even more frustrating had there not been.....Just hoping she will 'give herself up soon' Reckon she's enjoying herself too much! I daresay she is unsettled by her 'mum' being in hospital in the first place. Hope Mum is doing well now Angel-is she not home today? Praying that April will be home too very soon.
DogLostAngus
Gosh this is frustrating and good - good that she is being sighted but so frustrating for Angel at the same time - maybe the gentleman can give some clues to her direction of travel
AlisonH
Have bumped April to the top again as there have been 2 seperate sightings of her in Sydney Street Boston at mid day today. Angel was miles away picking up her twins from school when she got the calls but drove over there as soon as she could. As usual April was nowhere to be seen. Angel is still out looking for her. One of the callers was an elderley gentleman and he did try to catch her but due to his health problems was unable to do so.
muns
It does sound a little strange ...... Hopefully someone will'join the dots' for you very soon x
angel.*
well, she still not turned up. A lady rang today to say she saw a pug alone at the traffic lights (exactly where sightings reported) yesterday lunchtime but that it had a red collar on.... that is literralyy where i ahve made a huge big plastic sign saying missing pug!! i mean, a pug, sat beneath a sign saying "missing Pug".... short of her having a big flashing arrow on top of head what does she have to do to get noticed !! I am beginning to feel v confused by all this.... you could almost thing i am being fed "stories" for some reason...... oh dear paranoia and consiracy theories creeping in lol i havent read anyone else has this kind of drama so i must be doing something wrong !! The advert is on page 13 of boston target newspaper, very good advert again..... really about all out of ideas now !! Even getting strangers ringing up concerned asking if she is found yet !
DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
How frustrating for you Angel, give yourself and your children a big hug from everyone on here, we all so feel for you and your family. April may well return to the house for food. Keep your chin up your are doing brilliant. Lots of love. Jan x
AlisonH
Angel has had another 2000 flyers printed off and is now in Boston posting them through doors.
muns
Og Angel How frustrating. I bet you wanted to cry too! BUT what a lift too to know she is getting fed-I cannot think this is anyone but Angel -surely there are not 2 pugs on the loose? Quite likely she will go back to the food supply and maybe the lady will keep her in next time. Frustrtating though it was it is also very heartening that she has been spotted and almost caught. Keep going you are SO close xxx
AlisonH
Oh angel I am so sorry that this had to happen. Look on the positive side though, If it is April she is managing to find food and survive so there is still hope. I know there is another advert in the local Boston paper today so I am bumping her to the top.
angel.*
GUTTED. Phone call tonight at 11pm from woman saying she had a female pug,she said found it a day or so ago/found in park and had just seen flier thro her door. Gave me her address, said didnt want reward and i could fetch now. Got children up form bed, drove straight there WESTVILLE AVENUE, BOSTON. (opposite where last sighting behind playing park). On arrival woman and her child in street with their staffie. Said pug had been in fron garden, gone inside tonight, eaten their dogs food, weed on the sofa. said looked well. woman said put her into garden to loo but didnt know gate open...no sign dog when i arrived !! have hunted best can in dark, wet feet, nettle stings, drove car across park (oops).. NO SIGN OF HER. Children back in bed sobbing, wish i had someone that could have gone for me to spare them this heartache :-(
DogLostOwl
Angel, take a look at Zeus the GSD, reunited today after 15 months of searching. Others on this site have been found after quite a long time. So please take heart and don't even think of giving up.
muns
I find it strange the posters are being taken down and I think you have to keep going Angel. I know you want rest but it is being determined to keep going and making that clear that makes folk give up trying to keep our lost pets. Is it always the same area where the posters are being torn down? If so that may be an area to concentarte on. Please make sure folk like postmen, and refuse collectors are aware.
angel.*
Thank you everyone for your help. No sightings for3 days which worries me. In desperation I have postered two totally new areas just in case. Big advert in Boston target newspaper again tomorrow so pinning some hopes on that again. Not sure how long you keep going before having to accept its likely they wont come home
DogLostRiverlady
Still tweeting April on twitter every few hours have asked local papers + any kind locals for help.
angel.*
Been out again, posters ripped off thrown in the floor. Replaced Dragged Aprils blankets around streets sightings occurred then back to safe dry place with her toys food water. No more sightings. Youth called last night saying saw her limp across main rd but I was unsure if genuine or nit :-(
muns
Oh Angel, how I wish I were nearer to help you.....You are SO close. There is a pattern of 'late' sightings and all of a sudden you will get that all important call. All this leafletting WILL pay off. Keep going just a little longer. You are doing great and as for the malicious caller-have a whistle next to the phone and blow really hard into the receiver, should he try again. Saying prayers for you all tonight and praying April will be home safe amd sound really soon.
AlisonH
Makes me so mad that some sad person finds it amusing to make sick phone calls. Please everyone, keep spreading the word about April.
angel.*
Spent the day looking for April with no joy, then someone rang saying seen her then they told me they had killed her in a horrific way, laughing, swearing at me. I can't believe what idiots there r around. Thank u for taking the time to help,I guess its knowing I am trying to save my mum AND April
DogLostAngus
angel - please try to stay strong - I know it is hard but these little dogs are much tougher and hardy than we think - please read this story - 16 days this little girl was missing - we had snow and frost on the ground the whole time and I don't think the temperature went much above freezing the whole time - Sky is a chinese crested hairless dog who was just wearing a little t-shirt not even a dog coat - she survived so miracles can happen. http://www.doglost.co.uk/dog_blog.php?dogId=16392 hoping and praying you get the break through very soon xx
angel.*
Driven round til 10pm hoping to find her if she is just circling the same streets but nothing. 12 days with likely no food,exhaustion,dehydration..... I am trying to face up to facts.... maybe the sighting yesterday was the last... maybe she was just to weak. I would have loved to take her home to my mom even if I was too late finding her. Praying hard someone will help me by catching her or not waiting so long to conract me. but it's looking unlikelyLast edited: 2010-09-11 22:41:41 by angel.*

Just spoken to angel, she has been out searching since early this morning but sadly there have been no sightings.
Teddys Mum - Area Volunteer, West London
Angel, as Majorjet says, dogs survive out on their own, they are resilient little creatures and much better than we humans would be suddenly having to survive on our own. Chin up, you are doing a fantastic job. This is just such a roller coaster of emotions for you. I see there have been sightings in the same area network of roads. I am sure you have already been told this, but are you scenting and putting food down. It keeps dogs in the same area. Sounds as if she is circling, which is what they eventually do.I do so hope she is reunited with you soon...

Good news about the sightings! Well done owner for all the flyers you have delivered.

angel take a look at Jake JRT ID 15598, he is an elderly TOTALLY BLIND JRT, he survived 10 days out on own in very cold weather. You will be surprised how tuff little dogs are. We have also had little Mexican Hairless dogs on DL surviving on their own. Jan x

HI everyone, thanks again for yr help. NEW SIGHTING TODAY !! i got a text at 4.30pm from a lady who saw a pug at 9am wandering in/out various drives on SLEAFORD ROAD,BOSTON heading towards TESCO. I wish she had ring me sooner but drove straight there, pushed 2 tired grumpy children in buggy up and down road delivered hundreds more flyers thro these doors....can anyone in boston not know about her now?? feet aching and didnt come home til it was pitch black at 9pm...i didnt find her...i am devastated. Its been 10 days and she must be getting very sick and weak by now.... i just dont know what else to do,running out of money and exhausted by 10 days trekking round. sorry meant to say, this road is literaly adjoining the roads mentioned previously ......Last edited: 2010-09-10 22:45:44 by angel.*

There was another sighting of a Pug on Tuesday evening in Albert Street, Boston at 8:30pm with a little girl. Dog had no collar or lead. This is just over the road from the previous sighting. Angel has been over there and pushed 300 flyers through doors. Let's hope she gets a result from all her hard work.
angel.*
The police went to check out a dog reported to them as stolen pug...turned out to be 1yr old male. The owner says it has not strayed so it seems unlikely this is the dog that was sighted the last week in town. Hoping the sightings of wandering pug are thus valid ones. Had someone in street pug seen early mornings but nothing today...guess this could be due to my huge poster/flyers campaign in the area. The advert in the Boston Target is great today, the paper also ran a small news story and listed her in their pets lost and found. I will pay again for the advert with better photos next week. Am hopeful she will turn up due to paper plus spreading word of this big reward...mom in hospital another week yet so praying i can bring april home before mom . Thanks yet again for yr ongoing help everyone,i appreciate it so much x
AlisonH
April is in the local free press today so am bumping to the top.
AlisonH
Just heard from angel that the police have checked out the Pug and it was a male.
AlisonH
Angel I know you said you didn't have much faith in the police but you should report this as you cannot do it alone. Be persistant as this is theft of your mum's property.
Thorrocks0
Please take care. I do wonder if whoever took April in the beginning, noticed her missing teeth etc making her less saleable and more noticeable and dumped her very quickly, hence sightings of pugs on lawns etc. I think as a lady has reported a stolen pug to the police, you need to get them involved. Very best of luck today and my fingers are crossed for you. Wish I lived nearer!

had some help to put hundreds flyers thro doors near where seen but flats so been hard going !!. some local kids telling me woman in not v nice part just got new pug...rumours its a stolen one....getting concerned now. One lady i spoke to says she has already told police so now i am getting worried, fear of backlashLast edited: 2010-09-07 21:32:37 by angel.*

Fingers and everything else crossed that this is April. Surely there can not be too many pugs running around free. C'mon April, your mum wants you home - give yourself up. !

Local lady rang vet this morning, just seen last wk paper. Pug running free her area GRANVILLE ST,BOSTON from last tues morning until friday. She thinks it then gained a leather collar. A lady around the next street BARTOL CRESCENT saw a pug on her front lawn this morning at 7am and has seen her the last couple of mornings !! The post lady saw a pug in a house window on BROTHERTOFT ROAD this morning that she has not noticed before. I have postered the area a lot today (around school taking/collecting). I had 3 helpers who vanished after an hour so am doing the best i can alone. Big advert due on local free press tomorrow but turns out this part of town no longer gets it deliovered !! typical !! have knocked on doors and done my best. post lady unsure which house but i have knocked on some doors and nothing so far. Have told my mom and i think it has raised her spirits a little. Thanks everyone for everything you have done...i owe you all big time !! I need be there at 7am tomorro but diff with my children (its miles from where i live) ... trying to find help x
AlisonH
Just called Boston Council but they no longer have a dog warden and the dog collection service they use will only go to help if the dog has been contained. Angel is in the area right now and has been talking to a postie that has given her some info about a Pug.
AlisonH
The Pug has been seen several times in Bartol Crescent, Boston PE21.Last edited: 2010-09-07 11:16:48 by AlisonH

Angel has had a sighting of a Pug running round in an area of Boston. She is on her way over there now and will send me a text with the exact location. If there are any helpers who can assist her with the search please give her a call. Am bumping due to sighting.Last edited: 2010-09-07 10:43:29 by AlisonH

It's far too early for you to worry she is gone forever Angel. Much more likely someone has her than she is lost alone. I really feel for you and your mom, but especially you with all the searching as well as having your mom in hospital and young twins. The only thing I can advise is 'keep going' It's the fact you are determined not to give up that will bring her home. Make sure the reward is known to be for info leading to her safe return as well as for her return. Making her 'too hot to handle' is the way to go. Thinking of you and your mom and praying April will be found safe and well very soon. xLast edited: 2010-09-07 07:26:00 by muns

HI, got short time alone while twins were in school, did more posters again, hunted back gardens close where she was supposedly being looked after, spoke more people...word def spreading as most people i stop to speak to have already heard about her now. Walked miles along river banks. No more posters removed today, drove round town and edges looking...all now where i put them. No sightings. Nothing. A company close to where she was staying say they have heard a dog barking all week but i have hunted the area, put notes thro all the doors nearby and still nothing. I guess if she was stuck its been a week today with no food or water so she has probably passed away... longing for rain as it may give her a chance if alive...she wont have a clue about fending for herself and can only eat very soft foods. Poor mom sobbing in hospital, begging and pleading with me to find her...its all so distressing now.... i think she is gone for good. Have a feeling some people may know more than they will say,it doesnt help :-( THANK YOU AGAIN EVERYONE, YOURE MAKING SUCH A DIFFERENCE TO ME. THANK YOU x

You have probably already done this, but alert the local postmen, paper boys and the bin men. Pugs are not that common (in my part of the world anyway), especially one that has her tongue poking out, and your photos are brilliantly clear. I am on the lookout down here and plenty of people saw her poster yesterday so anything could come from that.
paddy
posters being taken down may not be significant. I have known it happen simply because there are over-zealous street cleaners/bus company employees and not necessarily that someone has the dog. I've passed on the details to doggy friends in East/South Lincs. I do hope she is found soon.
AlisonH
Angel is concentrating on her twins first day at school today. I know she has done all she can to find April but we need to keep her profile high and poster far and wide in the hope that someone will have the decency to hand her in to a vets and put this poor family out of their misery.
muns
Angus you took the words outta my mouth. I'd be very suspicious of the area where the posters keep disappearing. If you are unsure about recognising her Angel you need to get hold of a scanner so you can check the chip. I hope you find this girlie. Sorry you have so much to do with your mom ill in the first place. Wish I were nearer to help.
DogLostAngus
Angel you are doing as great job - often if posters are being torn down in an area then someone in that area could hae the dog - it would be worth putting posters through all the doors of the houses on this road / area and make it very difficult if some one does have her indoors.Last edited: 2010-09-05 17:29:42 by Angus

Hi everyone and yet again my eternal thanks and gratitude for your help. My mom has sobbed non stop since she heard the nurses tell me but she is in hospital and hour and a half away and i have been out all day doing posters again. The same posters have been torn down for the 3rd time in one area.... its a v public area yet ones just around the corner remain. It makes no sense unless its kids messing about. Its my childrens first day in school tomorrow so i have 2 hours to run around alone which will help. word is spreading, lots people seem to have heard but not one sighting... i am worrying now she has met with a tragic accident or something... Thanks again..i am amazed how much help total strangers have been so kind to offer. xxxxx

Thanks Thorrocks0.......Angel, keep your chin up you are doing brilliant. I did an updated poster with a multi pic on late last night and emailed to Ashmark, will do various size ones now and one you can display near where cars stop on the road and will be more readable from a distance. We are all willling April back home with her mum. THANK YOU to everyone who has joined the FB Group and offered to help various size posters will be emailed as soon as they are done. Jan x

Am doing a collection today at Taunton Services (M5 southbound) and will take her poster there. I know its miles away and a long shot but cannot stop thinking about this little dog and your poor mother. Have also asked a dog rescue charity to put her on their website as it does get a lot of views. I know they get a lot of requests and they may not be able to but will ring you if they do.
angel.*
Hi, today is sunday after bank hol monday,am thinking if someone took her on way on hol that may well be returning today (hundreds caravans etc pass thro centre town on one road to skegness and coast). I need more and bigger posters, have 2 huge ones but not easy making them big enough to see on road. Thanks for info re emails. have made lots calls and delivered posters locally but wanted quicker way to reach more people. thanks anyway
Auntie Katie
I managed to persuade somebody I know with a list of country-wide practice emails to include a missing puppy in a bi-weekly practice email she sends out. Unfortunately they are not allowed to let us have the email list. It is not due to go out for another 2 weeks but if April is not home by then I will certainly do my best to have her included on the next one. I have everything crossed that she will be home with you before then!! x
AlisonH
As far as I know most vets do not have an email address. Poster need to be sent by post or by fax.
angel.*
Can i ask please, i have seen on this site where it says hundreds of vet practices emailed....how do you do this? can find phone numbers but not facility to email photos etc...maybe i am misunderstanding

Angel we know it is hard for you but do keep her profile up and MAKE HER TOO HOT TO HANDLE. There are a lot of people who have come on board thought Facebookn and offered to help you in your search. We have a pug in our family and know exactly what their little character is like. Great that she is MICROCHIPPED and SPAYED. Keeping everything crossed for you. Good luck. Jan x

My mom (the owner) has now been told and has,as expected, taken it extremely badly, luckily the nurses sitting with her. I have managed to increase the reward to £1000 but i cannot find a penny more and dont know if this will help at all. more posters today and phone calls but still nothing, not noticed any poster removals today which may be good or bad sign i guess. thanks again for yr help
AlisonH
Don't lose hope angel. If she has been stolen they might keep her hidden indoors for a while in the hope that you'll stop looking for her. On the otherhand they may be walking her late at night so she is not noticed. Whoever has her will at some point have to take her to a vets so make sure you keep reminding them that she has been stolen. I will put in a request for her to feature in our column in the Countrymans Weekly magazine that goes out nationwide.
angel.*
Thank you everyone for your amazing help....i am so much more grateful than you probably realise. No news to report at all. Have replaced posters torn down and will go check again today, someone said i could get into trouble legally putting up too many posters on lamp posts ?? The lady who was looking after april is adamant she could not escape from the back garden, have now been to look myself and she is right, secure. This suggests perhaps she was stolen? it then makes me question how she was seen on the main road (only 5 min away) tho.... hardest part is i have seen 2 people out walking little pugs on new looking pink leads but what can u do,stopped and questioned one but since april is my moms dog i not totally sure i can recognise her purely by sight :-( I am losing hope, she has been gone since monday

Could someone please high light Aprils f/b group page...Thanks...

Have now spoken to Angel who is out putting up posters again. Have given her some advice about the poster that are being torn down in a certain area. She has paid for a very large advert to go in the local paper this week. It is a possibility that April has been picked up by a passing holiday maker and taken further afield so can helpers in areas such as Sheffield, Doncaster, Leeds, York, Nottingham etc please print off and circulate her poster to vets and rescue centres.
AlisonH
Thanks for the flyers Sable. Am trying to contact angel now. Should have gone out an hour ago can't leave it much longer. If I don't get through to her soon I will not be back until about 4pm.

Can anyone help this person trying to find her mum's dog who may have been stolen now? She is on her own with small twin boys and would appreciate some help , she is doing all this on her own, having to trail the twins with her everywhere. Where posters have been put up, they have been torn down again.

Have emailed advice. Sorry to hear that April is missing. Someone will try to make personal contact with you as soon as possible, to offer advice and help. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres. Give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars. You can find vets in your own area by clicking on the green logo which says “Find Any UK VET”, on the right hand side of the page under the “latest missing dogs” photo - top right. If you have a picture of your dog, please upload one to the Doglost site, (if it hasn’t been done already) by clicking on “update details” on your dog’s page. Browse for the picture on your PC, add it and then click “update”. You must be logged in to Doglost to do this. Alternatively, email a picture to admin@doglost.co.uk giving your dog’s ID number, or name and postcode, and someone will upload it for you. As soon as a photo is added mailings will be sent out to all local helpers who will help in the search for your dog. You can also add comments and update the dog’s status, e.g.sightings, re-united etc. by clicking on “add a comment” at the bottom of the page. If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and at the same time, check that all details held, are up to date. You can obtain a “MISSING” poster from "view poster" above. You can only print posters when you are signed in. Start postering now! I CANNOT EMPHASISE HOW VERY IMPORTANT THIS IS. If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be re-homed legally, after 7 days if it has no identification (microchip or ID disk attached), so please try to visit rescue centres, to look for your dog. Do not rely on checking by phone alone, as other people may not recognise your dog by your description.
