- Good to hear that Max is going to become even more famous. Max'smum, you are doing a great job in making little Max the best known & hottest boy in town. Here's hoping that the newspaper article will bring that telephone call you've been waiting for. Good Luck!

- Hi Sorry all!! Today the Birmingham mail are coming to my home to do a story with the children and myself. I will update you all with when it will go out! I have as usual been out looking everyday for these people speaking to all the alcoholics that hang around the pubs and the high street here but so far still no luck! The missing yorkie from just around the corner; there owners also confirmed a sighting of a alcoholic with a small yorkie when out speaking to people about there dog! I received a call the other night from a lady who had possibly found there Yorkie - Daisy and thought it could have been my max. I have passed these details on to Daisy's owners and I believe they have been reunited!! They have agreed to look out for my max as well. All our fingers are crossed that the press coverage will help return max to us!! thanks all for your kind advise!!Last edited: 2010-09-22 12:10:05 by Max'smum

- Julie B, I have also been wondering about Max and whether his family have managed to get a local newspaper interested in covering their story.

- ellejay, thanks for your email and for your concern and support for Max's family. Firstly, as you so rightly say, Max must be made the best know and hottest boy in town which his owner is already doing. I don't want to give the wrong advice on this one and so have alerted other co-ordinators to Max's missing status and have asked for the best way forward. All I would say is ask whether the local paper would carry a story, especially as the owner can say how much the young children are missing Max.Last edited: 2010-09-17 17:06:43 by Millys Mum

- Also if it is Max, and you have seen him or have evidence on a camera that it is him, you must DEMAND the poilce do something.. i know to them dogs are least of their priorties, but if you have evidence what they doing is illegal by holding on to a dog that is not their's by not reporting it. The only good feedback i get from police are the Kent police they are very good with these situations, its a shame not all follow suit.

- OMG.. Ok, lets see if some of the more experienced ladies on here can help with this one.. you have to tread carefully, because if they know your onto them they may well push the dog on to someone else furthur afield. If it is Max, they may well just be keeping him for company, otherwise they may have sold him on by now to get money for their habits.. The police were useless when my pup was stolen, i had to go the the house posing as a buyer but had back up of friends and family outside, ( they put mine up for sale on a free ad ) but the police did not want to know. I will email obe of my friends on here who is MilliesMum, she is very very good with advice in these situations, you just need to keep Max close by, and reward would be good because they may be inclined to make out they found him and hand him over, but you need to see if it is him.. get friends and family doing walks round the house, is there another dog in teh family who knows Max ?? maybe walk them around there see if he can pick up this scent ?

- Thank you for your kind advise. I had a phone call from a lady who is in the area every day and she thinks she spotted my dog with one of the local alcoholics who hang around nearby. She said she saw him with a yorkie and thought how on earth have you managed to get a pedigree and then saw one of my posters and called me and telling me roughly where she thinks he lived and advised me not to go there on my own. So I called the police and they basically made a few inquiries and told me there was nothing more they can do these people were not answering the door. So I went to the house myself and could hear a dog scratching at the door not barking just scratching and they would not let me see the dog saying it was sick. This house is 100yrds from my house and would make sense. I have now decided to leaflet drop and poster drop heavily round where this house is emphasising the reward on offer and tomorrow I will go to where all the homeless and alcoholics hang out and make my presence felt and the reward on offer clear. I am very disappointed with the police. Very disappointed.

- Aww sorry to hear max is missing, being a yorkie owner myself and having had my yorkie pup missing last year I know how you feel. I got my boy back after five days, by literally living and breathing finding him. You are doing all the right things, just poster like mad, try all cab firms, shopping centres, pubs clubs, local brownie and cub groups, football clubs see if they can put a tannoy over match days, ad in local papers, supermArkets notice boards, and notify all vets in area. My friend works in a vetinary surgery in redditch so I will contact her so she can spread the word. I live in Kent so to far to help other wise, but please please check all free ads on net like gumtree , pets4homes, epupz, etc incase someone has picked him up and maybe trying to sell him. It happened to my pup so it does happen. Good luck, and don't give up hope xxx

- Went to the RSPCA and PDSA today and dropped off posters. Also put posters in Pets at home and Tescos at Beggers Bush. I have put posters at Rookery Park and a few local shops in the area. Am just starting to do the lamp posts. Tomorrow I will be putting posters in Asda Minworth,Co-op Erdington High Street, Sainsburys Castle Vale and some of the smaller local pet shops and newsagentse. I plan on alos visiting the rescue centres, I went to Birmingham dogs home on Saturday and have agreed with them that I will call them daily and also the dog wardens.

- Sorry to see Max is missing. Thank you for registering with doglost. If not already done so you need to contact Dog wardens, Rescues and Vets. Please try and personally visit Rescue Centres wherever possible. It is not always a good idea to rely solely on telephone calls. Dogs can be rehomed after 7 days so this is extremely important. It is also very important that you poster heavily. If at all possible please keep us updated with regards to who you have contacted and the areas in which you have postered etc. This can be done by using the + Add a comment feature. Good luck. Hope Max is safely home soon
