- Unfortunately the sighting turns out to be another similar dog who escaped for an hour from a nearby farm - very thin because very young and not filled out yet - obviously well loved and cared for though so no problem - Thanks everyone for supportive comments. I fear he must have been taken as no sign at all since he ran off from my father. This happened close to home and he could certainly have found his own way back from where he went missing - Patrick owner of Paddy.

- Can I suggest you visit all the racing yards in the Lews area with a poster and ask them to circulate it - also email it to them. Most trainers have dogs of their own and will be sympathetic, and some have kids who might help with schools etc eg Sheenagh West. You can get their addresses and emails here by putting the county into the search box: http://www.racehorsetrainers.org/contacts/findtrainerbyalpha.asp Alsdo try any livery yards as horseriders on the Downs see more than car drivers. Good luck, what a lovely boy he is - I'd be frantic!

- POSSIBLE SIGHTING !!! Recd in email Jane, there was a sighting of a dog matching Paddy’s description by someone who had seen a poster just South of South Chailey near Little Exceat by the main road this evening. He was described as thin and bedraggled. This location is about 5 miles from home. At last a little hope. IF LOCAL PLEASE KEEP A LOOK OUT> sending on plotting and scenting in an email. Lets hope Paddy stas in same area. CJ

- I saw your poster in my vets today, postering does work :) feel free to link to my face book 'Lostdog Craignicky' as there are lot's of ppl who walk and live in the area linked to the site. I've just got my dog back safe and sound after running on the downs for a whole year - it's a matter of time, I'm sure you'll get him back safe they are a hardy and intelligent breed of dog. I know it's easier said than done (I nearly cracked from the stress!) but try not to let the stress get to you, hopefully you'll find him sooner rather than later just keep telling people that he is missing and you will get some news. Let me know if I can help any way.

- Patrick, I have emailed you advice.Sorry to see Paddy is missing. Someone will try and make personal contact with you as soon as possible, to offer advice and help. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres. Give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars. You can find vets in your own area by clicking on the green logo which says “Find Any UK VET”, on the right hand side of the page under the “latest missing dogs” photo - top right. If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and at the same time, check that all details held, are up to date. You can obtain a “MISSING” poster from "view poster" above. You can only print posters when you are signed in. Start postering now! THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT . .If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be re-homed legally, after 7 days, so please try to visit rescue centres, to look for your dog & give them a poster. Do not rely on checking by phone alone, as other people may not recognise your dog by your description.
