- I have now spoken to Danielle. I feel really upset about poor old Toby.He had been sitting at the police station for 2 days before going to the rescue at Cardonald.I had also sent a poster with his details and a picture to them when Toby was added to Doglost site. He had already been PTS by this time. Not a happy outcome. Poor Toby could have had his owner at his side when he died, and instead his last days were spent in kennels. It always pays to contact police over and over and visit the kennels at least twice a week to look for your dog. I have been told that the photos of Toby do not even resemble the dog who was in there, and that is why I always advise owners to go the the kennels personally. Please Go and look yourself if your dog is missing.Last edited: 2010-10-27 14:16:51 by Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland

- He wasn't ill or anything was he Danielle? Why would he go off to die when he was so full of life? No - I think someone has taken him in and kept him. How to get him back is to let everyone know that he is missing. Start a facebook page for him and spread the word. You need to put out LOTS and LOTS of posters and fliers.

- Toby is on twitter every day so folks can see his photo. Keep postering so if someone has him they will see a poster and call you. The posters really do work. Do you have PCSO's-Police Community Support Officers? Email Tobys poster to them or anyone else you can think of. Stay strong.

- We have had no information on Toby at Doglost, Danielle, but he cannot have just disappeared into thin air. You have to keep going with the posters and fliers, as one of these days, someone may recognise him as the dog next door or down the road.

- Have you been out everywhere with the posters and fliers I sent you, Danielle? You have to keep going with this, as it is highly likely that it is how you will find him.

- Danielle, thank you for registering Toby with Doglost as advised. I have emailed advice to you and will call you shortly. Sorry to see Toby is missing. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres. Give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars. You can find vets in your own area by clicking on the green logo which says “Find Any UK VET”, on the right hand side of the page under the “latest missing dogs” photo - top right. Please email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo of your dog quoting the dog’s Doglost ID number, or upload a photo yourself on “update details” above. You can also add comments and update the dog’s status, by clicking on “add a comment” at the bottom of the page. If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and at the same time, check that all details held, are up to date. You can obtain a “MISSING” poster from "view poster" above. POSTERS ARE EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. Start postering now!. If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be re-homed legally, after 7 days, so please try to visit rescue centres, to look for your dog & give them a poster. Do not rely on checking by phone alone, as other people may not recognise your dog by your description
