Appledown kennels have just rang they believe they have Bosley! But cannot get hold of owner...will send a text.
Bill
Nessies Mum, Thanks for your message, but it’s not our little man. You’re right though, such a sad little puppy, who is also listed on http://www.dogsandpuppies.co.uk/pets-dogs-westhighlandterrier/region-w-uk-bristol-south-west-wiltshire-swindon/WestHighlandTerrierlovelycheeky-11218683.html using another photo, but neither are a match. Thanks for everyone’s continued support, Bill & Sam
J MO
Looked at the advert for Oaktree Kennels and if it is the final photograph it is a West Highland White Terrier not a Scottie. You can tell by the jaw.
J MO
Wheaten Scotties can vary in colour. The colour may change he grows older and when he is teething. Some Wheaten Scotties do look more white than wheaten. Definately worht the owner visiting
DogLostAngus
have checked re Rotties - there is a pair of rotties walked with a small white dog in Hockcliffe - this sighting is fine as they are 3 of 5 dogs the family owns and are known to doglost helpers - re sightings in Houghton Regis there is a couple that walks a pair of Rotties 1 male 1 female but we are not aware that they have another dog so may be worth keeping vigilant on this one.Last edited: 2010-11-02 21:46:07 by Angus
DogLostAngus
Right have googled the phone number on the advert and it comes up with these details - well worth the owners making some enquiries although this puppy looks quite white rather than wheaten

hi. this was advertised in the westie section. was about the right age for now and looked a bit sad
J MO
Nessies Mum, Was this puppy advertised as a Wheaten Scottie or a Westie or Cairn?
DogLostAngus
Nessies mum - do you still have that advert open on a tab as it has been removed already - is so can you screen print and send to admin ?

Will try to speak with Raly tomorrow who knows his area very well

J MO
Hi Bill, may bs worth you contacting Dillon's owner who also went missing in the same area. Can poster together. How near are you to Oxford? I am down there next Saturday
J MO
Bill, Have contacted Houghton Regis Town Council.
J MO
Angus and ESSAJ can you rally the troops in this area? Bill, are the Travellers in Houghton Regis? Is it a travelling fairground? If you speak to the local Council ( ask for Property Management/Estates) they can usually advise of where they have moved to. Hope it is him. I have everything crossed for you.
Bill
There has been a sighting in Houghton Regis of two people walking two Rottweilers along with a small white puppy. There is a chance it could be Bosley as when he was first stolen we were told of a possible sighting at the funfair there. Someone saw a white puppy tied up outside one of the caravans so we informed the police and went there ourselves and talked to the fairground staff but we couldn't see him and they denied all knowledge. But maybe they sold him on to these people? Does anyone know who owns two Rottweilers in Houghton Regis or could find out? We've already postered there but need to really flood the area now. Could anyone reading this help us? The police were the ones who informed us of this latest sighting. They've been following it up and are looking for these people too.
J MO
RSPCA in the Bedfordshire area have agreed to keep an eye out for Bosley. Also they have given me their national details to contact.
J MO
It may be worth the Owner contacting Alfie's owner ( Patterdale Terrier missing from LU4 on the 11th october) The could team up to poster. Owner should also check the local Travellers site as some dogs have been discovered there.
J MO
Great coverage of Bosley in this week's Our Dogs. I hope we get some news soon xxx
Karenn
I will poster in the town centre
Joanna
posters up in Markyate and Flamstead village noticeboards already and with a couple of the pubs.
J MO
More posters have been emailed or sent by post to the Royal Mail, milkmen, libraries, youth centres in Bedfordshire and Bedford Council. Can anyone poster the retail parks and shops in the surrounding towns? Will do the pubs hotels and village halls. Caddington Parish Council have placed Bosley's details on the village news website
J MO
Bosley's poster has now been sent to my contacts at the Kennel Club and I have asked it to be forwarded to all of their email addresses in the South East. We need as much publicity as possible. They can't keep him hidden forever.
DogLostNina
Hi Bill, many times I have made this suggestion on doglost and I make no oppologies for doing it again. Why not hire or buy a megaphone and stand in a busy place and let everyone know that Bosley is missing. Hand out leaflets as well clearly stating that there is a large reward offered it might bring you media attention and that surely would be the best thing possible.

Bill
Thanks for everyones continued efforts and support - please keep doing everything you can to bolster the campaign to recover our little boy. We’re devastated and really need to get him home again. £750 REWARD FOR HIS SAFE RETURN.
DogLostAngus
bumped due to local media coverage & dog world coverage
Karenn
Saw his article in the papers yestarday Hope that makes people more aware.
Its a shame the radio people havent taken an interest as they are well known in media. Come home Bosley xxxx
J MO
Has anyone contacted the local royal mail and aldo the milkmen? I have printed off posters so will send them out as they do not appear to have an email address. I have had quite a number of email repsonses and also given some further email addresses to people willing to help poster. Will continue to send posters. Hoping for some news soon. xxx
Joanna
I dont think 3 counties radio or Herts Advertiser have taken this story up sadly. I think they would if there was a direct appeal from the owners of Bosley. The paper for sure likes a story they can print right from the victims. So my advise would be for the owners to get in touch directly with the media if they havent already. I can advise them on how and who to send a press release if they need it. Poster circulated out to friend I have at The Wildlife Trust locally, not that he is wildlife but they have a large organisation of animal lovers and people that are out and about so hope this will help. Fingers crossed he is found soon as this is just heartbreaking.
J MO
Great coverage of Bosley in Dog World. He appears twice in the paper. Thanks Nellie. Also had some replies to my emails sending out the poster. A lot of people are looking out for this little chap.
J MO
Bosley will now appear on the Terrier World website
J MO
Bosley's poster has now been sent to numerous Scottie Breeders up and down the Country as well as the Scottish Terrier Breed Club Secretaries for onward tranmission to as many Club Members as possible.
DogLostAngus
I have posted Bosleys details on the new Milton Keynes Dogwatch Website http://www.mkdogwatch.com/stolen-bosley-scottish-terrier-lu1-t62.html
Karenn
I havent recieved an email from heart yet:(
J MO
Thanks Majoret for the poster in word format. I have now emailed the poster to all vets, petshops, boarding kennels and groomers that I could find in the Bedfordshire area that has an email address.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Thanks sarah!
sarah
really sorry to hear about Bosley-have posted up new thread on doctorsnet which gets to 175,000 docs through country-so at least few more people aware. Hope he is found soon
littlehelper
Check out the site Oodle.com they sell lots of dogs on there
J MO
Is anyone checking the pets for sale columns in the local papers?
J MO
The puppy on the breeders on line website is a Westie. Even though Bosley looks light in the picture Wheaten Scotties are the coloyr of ripening wheat and even the light ones will have some darker hairs running through the coat. Scotties also teeth very hard and he could drop an ear or both ears whilst his second teeth are coming through. Sorry to go....just desperate to get this little chap homeLast edited: 2010-10-05 19:27:41 by J MO
Karenn
Posted in the flurette shop and newsagent, already posters in the Vets4pets. My mum took a poster to the pet shop in the market, luton. Lets hope this little on is home soon
Scampsfamily
So sorry to see this little boy is missing I have been searching online and can came across the following website http://www.breedersonline.co.uk/puppy-for-sale.asp?petid=6007x16 In Essex I do not know if it looks exact to your boy but it does say was born in july which would make him around around 10 weeks however there is only one boy available and although it has a picture which he looks a lot younger it is not hard to get a picture of any puppy from the internet - I am sorry if i have given false hope at all but wouldnt be able to just let it pass. I really hope your baby is home soon x
DogLostAngus
Hi Raly, if you could check out the usual haunts that would be very useful - i may be over that way myself late tomororow afternoon too if you are about
jacks
Its just up the road from Luton
Raly
Angus.. saw Caddington mentioned on previous post.. anything you need help with on this little one..
J MO
Whereabouts is Caddington? Is it near Luton?
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Thanks everyone.
Joanna
Have sent picture and story to Herts Advertiser Hopefully they will print something about poor Bosley this week. fingers crossed.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Thanks Jmo.
Karenn
I will take a poster to Vets4Pets in Round green and in the Florist tomorrow afternoon - both shops, have alot of customers walk there and past.. So that should let people know. I have emailed Heart Radio. Last edited: 2010-10-04 21:37:47 by Karenn
J MO
Bosley's details will appear in the Scottish Terriet Breed Notes on the National Dog papers Our Dogs and Dog World. Hope it brings some news.
J MO
Have checked the internet and can't find any Scottie pups which look like Bosley. Hav posters been circulated to the local pet shops and Vets? If he has been sold then he will hopefully be taken to a Vet for a check. Has any one tried to local radio station? They can be quite helpful. Fingers crossed that we receive some news soon.
Joanna
Will put a poster in my car and repost posters in village.
Joanna
It is worth the owners sending a picture to the Herts Advertiser and Review that cover St Albans City and District, they often have pictures of lost dogs in the paper. Also put posters up in Markyate as well as Flamstead, though annoyed to find some of them not up this morning!
Karenn
There is a website here, for Herald and Post. http://adsdirectsm.jpress.co.uk/welcome.aspx?sitecode=LHP Is it worth me filing it out to help the owners, to get people aware.
Karenn
I printed off several posters, as I manage a stall for charity in Luton, Indoor Market. Put a poster in the stall, but forgot to take the rest to the shops will do that Monday. Do hope there is a good reunion for this one, must keep an eye on the internet ads. Fingers crossed. xxx
diddydi
poor little lad. I hope he is home with his family soon. my thoughts are with you
J MO
Checked the web but no Scottish terrier or west highland White terrier single pups for sale. Owner should check the local petshops and newspapers for any single pups. Wish I was nearer to help poster.
J MO
Bosley is now on the North of England Scottish Terrier Club website
DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
Thanks Badger and J MO for explaining re the colouring. Hope owner is also pointing the colouring out and enquiring about other terrier breeds. Rooting for little Bosley to be back home with his family soon. Jan x
J MO
Wheaten Scotties are not that rare in this Country now but to the general public they will probably think it is a West Highland White Terrier. Will put his details on Facebook and make sure his details go in the Scottie Breed notes on Dog World and Our Dogs. Hope he us found soon. We need to make him too hot to handle. Xx
DogLostAngus
Thanks Riverlady - have circulated to my local police contact list and added to facebook pages
DogLostRiverlady
Will put on twitter + circulate.
Joanna
Have put in a request to BBC 3 Counties radio, Gareth Lloyd, to mention this on his show...we were on his show for something unrelated last night so hopefully they will be able to help in some way...
Bill
Just a thought - he may be being passed off as a West Highland Terrier, as Scotties are normally just black.
Badger
So very sorry to hear about this dear little lad. Wheaten coloured Scotties are more scarce than black ones. Bosley's details will be included on www.scottiedoglovers.co.uk website. I will also ask for details to be included on the Scottish Terrier Emergency Care Scheme (STECS) website. I have also made the STECS area welfare coordinator aware. I hope Bosley is found safe and well very soon and reunited with his family.
DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
Is Bosley definately a Scottish Terrier? Jan x
