Hooray, such good news! Wonder if the family who bought her were suspicious about things, if not why would they look on doglost? So glad they did the right thing, anyway.

KIRA IS HOME! A family had bought her from some people in South Mimms. This family then saw that Kira was listed as missing on our website & called owners today. Kira is very well & please to be back with her family who very kindly have offered a donation to help us reunite other missing dogs. Thank you & welcome home Kira. Keep safe now. xx

Just managed to speak to Kira's owner. Kira is still missing & owner has been searching but no new sightings.Scenting has been done but needs to be re done with the addition of a feeding station, this Kira's owner is going to do.It could be that Kira has gone to ground & is only coming out after dark.Fingers crossed some new sightings will come in as more posters have been put up also.

Have been unable to contact owner for updates on Kira.Have left messages but had no reply so far.

I have bumped Kira up due to these sightings.

Have left a message on owner's mobile for an update on how things are going here. Thanks for being on board with this Teddy's Mum & Nik.Will hopefully get some more info on where Kira has run from & then we can get some sort of track to map out her pattern.
Teddys Mum - Area Volunteer, West London
Hi Nik, welcome back on board. Got your email Aunt Steph, thank you. Can now see where Kira is. Will try and get over asap. Nik is closer than me and is an expert from the Old Hemel crew. I think we need to put food down with pilchards to attract her away from the A41 and home her in somewhere quiet to feed. Are there any parks/fields nearby, surely she would look for somewhere quiet? Are the sightings near to her home, walking areas etc..
DogLostAunt Stef - Area Volunteer, West London
Thanks for the email Dee. No offence taken Nik,thanks for your help here. In the scenting advice I have included the pilchards bit :-) . Hopefully this can start to get Kira moving in a semi controlled area.We might need a trap but will see how things go.Kira looked as if she was having a bit of an adventure this morning so might not want to be caught easily!

Nik - thanks a million - have had a chat with Aunt Stef and everything seems expertly in hand at the mo, but i'm around if anything extra needs adding :) Come on Kira, show yourself! xxx

Let me know if you need any help - we walk our dogs in Edgwarebury Park everyday. Will have a good look round tomorrow and also leave more posters.

That's really good news. I'm a bit out of practice with the practicalities of luring dogs in, but the perceived wisdom was dishes of really smelly pilchards. I'll ask Dee, Regional Co-ordinator to post some advice because she's an expert. (No offence Stef - I just don't know whether this is your area of expertise either !!)
AshMitson
Hi everyone. Thanks for all the advise...we have had four sightings of her today so there's still hope I went searching for hours as soon as I have heard and spread the word all over the area. Hundreds of people know and are looking. She was walking the streets near Glendall Road Worner Gardens and Edgwarebury so she's still in the area :) fingers crossed she comes back soon x

Have spoken to Kira's owner this morning as I had spotted what I think was Kira running along the path outside "Wellpets" vets,on the A41 in between Mowbray Road & Broadfield Ave,east bound, left hand side. I got off the road as quick as possible to double back but she was gone by the time I was able to get off the dual carriageway. I also spoke to the vets to let them know this dog(hopefully Kira) was right outside their window. Will send some scenting etc info to owner. I did go to Sandy Lane today, but frankly, it was impossible to be conclusive one way or the other. If you want to pursue this line of enquiry I suggest the action posted below. Good luck !

Hertsmere's TLO is probably just for illegal encampments. The site is run by Herts CC. To be honest it doesn't have a big history of dog theft, but Herts CC TL have been of great help to DogLost over the years. The office no is 01707 897367. Site managers only visit about once a week, but this is an (old) no for the senior site manager: 07876 476084. As I now live across the fields from the site I can take a look. However, I think the odds of Kira being there are low.
labradorloopy
Travellers site is a good idea - but ring Hertsmere Council as they have a traveller liaison officer who could make contact. Also, poster the Sparrowhawk pub in Glengall Road and the newsagent there - get a lot of local trade. What about Broadfields, Rosh Pinner and Fairway Schools? The more who know - especially about reward - the better. On a more pessimistic note , you could contact Barnet Council roads dept to see if she was knocked down. I really hope not.

Will poster parks in my area (NW9,Kingsbury) and spread the word to local dog-walkers. So glad to see she's chipped.

AshMitson, I've updated the details from posted comments now to show on the DL poster, fingers crossed this little cutie is back home soon. If anything else need changing please let us know. Good luck. Jan x
AshMitson
Thanks everyone I printed off loads of flyers and spoke to park keepers, local dog walkers, post men and bus stops if you live round the area your going to see the signs so hopefully!! I've offered a reward incase she's fallen into the wrong hands...and pretty much everyone I know in the area is looking and asking around. So let's hope she hasn't gone far
Spinillons
I am sorry to hear this. My Boy was stolen in the same area a few years ago from the family garden with the door open... it would be worth being careful and going down to the Gypsy camp on the A41....... best of luck.

There's a lot of open space to cover, so I suggest you make sure that countryside rangers, golf courses, park departments, sports grounds know. Also suggest drivers such as Royal Mail, dustcarts, milkmen etc. As it's on the boundary with Hertsmere and Harrow, contact dw, parks etc there.
AshMitson
She went missing between riverdene and broadfields avenue. I'll let you all know if I hear anything. Thank you!!!
Unknown
Best change the poster to Edgware (or nearest geographical point). As Judy says, the A41 is a very long road. Can you be more precise about which bit of the Edgware Way she went missing ? ie the Edgwarebury end by all that open space.
labradorloopy
I will give out posters to all the dog walkers in Edgwarebury park tomorrow and put some up in Mill Hill park - you could also do Stonegrove park (just across the A41) and Cannons Park. Also, put a poster in the petshop in Mill Hill and Pets at Home in Borehamwood. Give smaller flers to postman, bus drivers and PCSo's - the more people who know the better.
AshMitson
Thank you so much everyone! I am really worried about her... I have called Manderville (she is regestered there) I've called the dog warden, medivets, Animal Welfare Trust and loads more, she excaped from the back of the garden and was last seen running up the duel carridgeway footpath by a friend driving past, I ran to find her and couldnt see her. :(
labradorloopy
HA8 is Edgware , Middlesex - just down the road from me. Where have you notified? Local vets are: Wellpet on A41, Manderville in Whitchurch Lane and Medivet at Apex Corner. Barnet dog warden's number is:07825098947. Do you think she's escaped or been stolen? If you need help, post on here and i'll contact you.
Teddys Mum - Area Volunteer, West London
Where is HA8? The A41 is a long road, is it near Watford area, if so NAWT is on A41 worth checking there. This is a terribly busy road. Hope someone has taken her in.
