Seeing Jake here brings back so many memories Sara. He really is gorgeous and I am quite sure he is curled up in front of someones fire completely unaware now that he should be somewhere else - as I truly hope the new owner is unaware that he was stolen. Oh my, what a gorgeous little boy Jake is. Sarah, I really feel for you. Thank goodness, I have never been in your position but I know how I would feel. However, there is no doubt in my mind that Jake will definitely come home. You are doing, and have done, everything possible and I just know that along with these fantastic helpers it won't be long!! Have you sent posters to your local obedience/heelwork to music/tracking and agility clubs? Also going to local open shows where JRT are scheduled, as people to watch and show. Fingers crossed for some good news very soon about Jake. (Great name, bias, I called my new puppy Jacob!)

Oh you guys are soooooo sweet - thank you sooo much for all your kind messages - the wedding went fairly smoothly! apart from the best man forgetting the rings (had to go back and get them, just before the ceremony started), my dads car over heated (very old Rover) and the photographers car blew up - but apart from that all was well! Anyway the wedding was great fun and the honeymoon fantastic - will try and set a page up soon to show you some pics if Jayne will let me. After all this time I would have thought he should have made a visit to a vet by now- if only for his jabs- this high-lights the need for all vets to routinly scan all dogs when they come to visit on the first occasion and even once a year- my vet checks to make sure the chip has not moved !

I have just read these threads on baby Jake and it brought tears to my eyes. A bit of a cheeky move to the front for Jake - just for a short while - because Sarah is one of our "oldest" and most supportive owners, despite losing two dogs to theft (see also Shino from 2003) and recovering neither so far. Tomorrow Sarah and her fiance Sam get married - and I wanted us all to say Congratulations to them both and that we're still thinking of Jake - and the two of them - tomorrow especially. I did the homecheck for this boy for a lovely family in Eastbourne - he had come over from Ireland and escaped at one of the changeover points before he had actually made it to his new home! Hi girls, yeah I told the chip company as soon as the paperwork came through (jake was stolen before his chip was even registered)! I hope Dolly is scanned too this year! bring our pups home where they belong! Hi Everyone yesturday was a year to the day that Jake was stolen, didn't want to think about it as too many memories and everything! Hi Jo, my friend sent me the pic the other day when she was looking through her phone! Yesterday was a year since we bought Jake, and i was so upset just thinking that we only had him for four weeks and that was nearly a year ago. Some people do talk a load of b--- s--- Last time I was putting up posters I had to fight for space in certain locations - and the only limit to the number that get put up is that some shops/pubs etc are not keen to help. But pet shops, vets - have loads - is this woman looking in the right place?? It can be quite funny really - after one poss sighting of Jake, we were asking around the area and some kids asked us what he looked like and by chance, there was a poster on a nearby lampost - getting faded yes, but still there and readable.I sometimes meet Sarah for walks and we often have a stapler and pile of posters for company. I was also asked - by the Ashdown forest - to take down posters - and I had not put them up. It was a dear doglost helper who I have never met, but who was saving me a huge amount of time at a most stressful time in my life. I now count Sarah and Dee as friends - they were such rocks when my baby was stolen. So whoever you are - just go and play somewhere else.

Good Morning All, Candy, i like your thinking. *lol* Just for the record "I WILL NOT BE GIVING OUT JAKES CHIP DETAILS" this is private and confidential information which may hinder his return! As reference to my telephone conversation yesterday night, call me old fashioned but being called at 10.30pm is taking the biscuit a little, unless you know information on the whereabouts of my dog, i would prefer not to be contacted at such a late hour in the evening! Also with reference to FBI and Belvil, if you have been one of the lucky ones to get your dog back, do you not think that you should be helping others to get theres back instead of being selfish and attacking doglost. I would be carefall with your slanderous things that you are saying as you could cause yourself some serious problems. Doglost were not responsible for your dog going missing, just helping in getting him back! Doglost, have done nothing but help me in my search, all the wonderfall helpers who put posters up, Jayne listing to me winge on for hours, for the friends i have made from the site and the support i gain from Jake being on here. If you have no evidence to support your claim, i think you are best off not posting on doglost! As you are taking the search away from the dogs, and they are what really counts, and not you!

Please note guys - FBI and Belvil is Kristina Marsh. She took it upon herself to call Jake's owner last night at 10.30pm and refused to reveal who she was, instead choosing to ask odd questions. I should point out that she does not live in the postal area she mentioned nor does she live in Surrey and she would therefore have no idea of the amount of posters Sarah has put up to find Jake. She lost her dog some time ago and he was successfully recovered with the assistance of Doglost and the National Dogwardens Association members and police, however she is insistent that he must've been stolen by Jayne, who lives some 250 miles away from where he strayed. The distress this woman causes knows no bounds.

Over the last 10 months i have continuesly postered every lampost, every tree, every shop that would put it up, every vets, every school, and every pub etc.... you can be sure I live in Surrey, one of my friends who did this research with me registered so it does not mean anything. We all live in different parts of South East and the same ( no posters found as claimed) applies to other lost dogs. We do not blame the owner as the helpers are the once who claim they distributed the posters. Has Sarah made any "donations" to doglost in order to get help???

If you did then you would know that Sarah has broken her heart over Jake and postered widely. She has even done radio in the area. By the way Shara, why don't you check with whoever microchiped your dog what kind of microchip they gave him. There are various types and most of scanners available can not read a lot of microchips as they are on different radio waves. It is silly really and makes microchips quite useless at this stage. I live in Surrey and have lots of friends all over South East. According to all of you helper's forums there should be thousands upon thousands of lost dogs posters all over South East. One lost dog (was claimed) as we counted on forums had at least 10,000 distributed. In fact in the circumstances one would not be able to enter a shop, vet, school, park bus stop etc without seeing at least one. However none of us ( having done this special research) have seen any, not even one. Are you all really doing what you say or are we all in South East blind??????

This christmas is going to be so strange, my b/f bought me Jake for christmas last year, to keep me company in the evenings while he was working late (he's a plumber so busiest time of the year) and Jake went everywhere with me, last year, too all the parties we went to, to Sam's mums on christmas day, and this year he will not be here. So sorry for any misunderstandings, the sighting of the dog in Edenbridge was about two months ago, me and Marian went searching over all the playing fields and all the roads and did not find anything! There have been no further sightings i'm afraid! I think Jane is right and we should maybe change the age to 1 year??? Maybe we could add another pic showing his markings? Hi All, i went back last night and saw nothing either, but will keep going back. Thanks for putting the posters up, i only realised when i got there that all posters weren't in the car! Not sure what happened there!! So have put a new supply in the boot, and more staples for stapler (sorry BT) anyway thank you all again. Morning Guys, Well no word this morning, will try and go back tonight or tomorrow (got a interview tonight with Murcury) so will try and do a phone one. Whilst we were walking about Edenbridge, we raised alot of awareness about Jake, everyone knows him and are keeping a look out. Also the kids are all interested in the money, well hopefully as kids are into everything they will keep there eyes and ears peeled. Will let you know if i hear anything today! x

Morning all, spoke to the spotters, seems the dog they have seen may not be Jake, had a look around near Forest Row yesterday (spotters did not contact me till about 8ish Sat night)! Could not see any dog, please if anyone lives around that way can they keep a eye out, its a bit of a trek for me to go during the day as i work aswell! I will try and go back maybe tonight and take another look! Not sure how Forest Row works, they have told me, they saw this dog on the old railway line about 100 yards from the Witchem entrance (hope that is spelt right) Thanks All x

After all this time a possible sighting of jake has come in some walkers have just rung to say that having viewed the poster they literally 100 yards later saw an identical dog scurrying around in the under growth in the Foresy row area near Hartfield. Sarah is ringing now for further information.

Hi All, still no news on Jake, not sure what i can do now, i still see his posters every where and everyone still knows about him, someone even thought Murphy was Jake, i had to tell them this is his cousin. I know he is further away because there is no way you could miss his poster, there are literally everywhere still! I know we will hear something one day soon! I am shocked about Scruffs owner, i cannot believe they would do that, i know we got another dog but i would never refuse Jake away, it makes me so sad and angry at the same time. Bella's mum is right, our dogs are out there somewhere, just waiting to be found! Hi everyone, Sarah is away at the moment, so Sarah's mum is on "Jake Alert" for any sightings. In the meantime yes I think it's a great idea if another round of posters go up - remember Jake will have grown from when the pic was taken but his markings won't have changed. Posters definitely still up in the immediate area from where he was stolen but it would be nice if the area could be extended over Surrey and perhaps back up towards Croydon area? thanks everyone

If you have a PC and a printer you can make your own T-Shirts really easily - I do it all the time. Just buy some transfer papaer designed for ironing onto cotton and using in a printer - HP do it and there are gother cheaper versions. Print the design (BACKWARDS!) on the iron on transfer then place it face down on a cheap plain T-Shirt (I favour the ?1.99 Tesco option!) and iron it on. Really cheap quick and easy. Hi Naomi, i will take a look at that, we had viruses on our computers so i haven't been able to access the web since yesterday morning. Dee not sure if there is anymore we can do, i have been talking to Max's owner Daisy about maybe desiging T-Shirts to promote doglost and stuff, get people more aware. If anyone has any fund raising ideas that would be much apprecaited. The other thing i have been thinking about is the Oxted and Edenbridge show is coming up soon so i might start asking and looking about to see if anyone would be able to help me there, as sometimes they have the hunt there with there dogs, so they might be able to put some stuff up about Doglost, only thing is, i don't really know much about it. Jake will come home, puppies tend to eat something that they don't react well to and will get a dodgy tummy, will be taken to the vet, scanned and sent back to his rightfull owner. My Dad lives around the Croyden area and knows alot of people so i will get them to keep an eye out.

Hi Naomi, I have tried to call Croydon council about the dog in New Addington but they still haven't called me back, and i haven't heard anything about the dog in East Grinstead. Thank you for replacing the poster. People often see me change posters and ask about Jake, he will be so big. Tomorrow will be 3 months since he was taken! It has gone so quick that it scares me. he will be so big now and different from when he was taken. I just wish we had heard something. Murphy is getting along great, his personality is really coming out now, in other words being a little sod, but we love him lots. I'm sure when Jake comes back he will teach Murphy lots of naughty tricks! hehe

Hi, I still check in regularly but don't have much to say! (not like me at all!) well any way the otehr day I noticed that my dog theft action poster had been removed from next to Jakes poster at the park - weird - Jakes poster was still there! As Jakes Poster needed up dating, and despite laminating had some water damage I have had another one laminated and replaced the old one - a little old lady saw me doing it and said "oh how sad is he still missing?" I chatted to her about Jake for a while. So people in Sussex have their eyes open. HE WILL BE FOUND. He's chipped and can't hide forever. Looking forward to hearing how he and Murphy get on! Any news on the recent mystery dog sighting? Could it be Jake? Gosh nothing to say!! I'd better shut up now - All the best.

I will try and go up here one night after work and will do some posters. I have just received a phone call today from a young boy saying he and his whole class saw a young dog running around there school field, but this is in East Grinstead. He said it was white/brown and black and had a long tail. I don't think this is Jake but maybe anyone near East Grinstead can keep a eye out for this dog. He said it was Imbreham School (think that might be spelt wrong) and in the school field.

Believe it or not, Limpsfield Chart is where we rendezvoused???? to get Suzy back - I know it well. I have already posted Jake in most of the car parks - but am going back as Suzy's posters were frequently removed - I think it's National Trust and they like their trees unpostered. Hi i had a call over the weekend, someone told me they spotted a small terrier like Jake running around near the Limpsfield Chart Area, i have spoken to Jayne and shes keeping a eye out for me, but if anyone else goes around there please can you also keep a eye out for this dogs. I have been informed that it ran off into the woods and looked very skinny!

What a terrible ordeal (again!). Thank god you had locked your friend in the car but isn't it awful that you actually have to do this in the first place! What is this world coming to. Owning a dog should be an enjoyable experience - you shouldn't have to be forever looking over your shoulder but it looks as if that is the way that it is going now. Glad that baby Murphy is safe.

I didn't think to call the police because i didn't get a description, but i will ring them tonight, i am still waiting to find out if Jakes theft was anything to do with Buddy and Suzy! No news from the police on that front! Marian that is awful about the saddles, they really have no morals at all! I said to my b/f we should get a body guard for Murphy like they do in America. he comes to work with me so he is never out of my sight, it is just unreal how the world is coming to this.

Sarah couldn't you have told the police about this, whilst they would probably have said that they couldn't arrest people for talking to you, you could have asked them to log it down as some sort of official complaint and if anything similar happened to you or someone else in the area they would have to act on it in some way. If you don't report it then the next time it happens to someone they may report it but it will only go down as the first incident and so on. Hope this makes sense I'm gabbling a bit but am losing my marbles over Dolly

Sarah, this is so upsetting, they are so blatant and blase about stealing now. How can they do this? They aren't human are they. There was an article in the mail yesterday (Sunday), about an undercover journalist who lived as a traveller undercover. Quite diabolical! Why are they getting away with this sort of behaviour??? Hi Everyone, thank you all so much for your help, i rang the dog warden for the area and he still hasn't come back to me, so i'm going to ring him again today, as i said before the lady is putting some food out to try and trap the dog but i haven't heard anything from her. Hi Having a slight crisis at work, so in this morning, i just wanted to thank you all so much for all your kind words over the last few days. I heard yesterday that another terrier is running around new addington so i went and had a look but i couldn't see it so i notified the dog warden and i'm waiting for them to come back to me. Unfortunatly the dog we went to look at wasn't Jake, but very similar but a few of the markings were different, the faces dropped when i told them it wasn't him, think i ruined there day! I will send pic of Murphy out within the next few days, but gotta go, lots of work to do before i go home! Thank you all again! Sarah and Murphy!

Hay all, we're going to get another JR, it will be Jakes cousin, and a little boy one, unfortunatly the girl that we planned to have has died. Hopefully we will hear some good news soon, it has been two months now but i will never give up, i have some days off next week so i will be doing some posters, going to do some more in New Addington, and maybe the areas we have already covered. Hopefully Jake will be home soon to keep his new playmate company! I'm sure they will love each other!

Still no news, its now nearly two months since Jake was taken! Each day that passes our hopes fade some more! No phone calls - Nothing, we have had leads but they have always been different dogs, posters are still up around the area but no one has seen him! I do not understand how our puppy could have disappeared off the face of the earth! He will be soo much bigger now and changed so much! The people who mad us miss out on his growing up, belong with in hell with all the other low lifes on this planet!

I called the owners about this Sparkle, seems she has come home! Quiet a adventure buy the sounds of it, walked off with some people, then when they went back to that park where she had followed them from she got in someones car, ended up in Putney! Keeping fingers crossed for you Sarah. The fact that Jake has an entire tail makes him easier to spot/identify. I always stop and comment if i meet anyone whos dog has an undocked tail (that would normally be docked). Where is Bletchingly? I have heard of it but can't think where it is. Good Morning everyone, no news as yet, Jake and Suzy were in the classified section of our local newspaper so i emailed a copy to Jayne, i spoke to the police at the weekend but no more news. Going to try and ask Arriva if they can help, they have a bus depot down the road from us. I tried to contact some newspapers on Friday afternoon, but they have all asked for quite a bit of money for a advert/story. so going to try and pursue other areas. I have just emailed Jayne a pic of Lucky, this is Jakes step aunt, she has also gone missing, please can everyone look at her page when it is on the net, she is a JRT, but not chipped and had no color, please can everyone keep a eye out for her aswell.

Hi Dee, we are going to spend tomorrow afternoon placing new posters up and place more about! I will place some up of Suzy aswell, as East Grinstead, and Croydon are all local areas to me! Hopefully this snow will stop and i can do some down the lanes, by the gypsy camps! If anyone knows of any small camps, between Croydon and East Grinstead please pm me, i know all the major ones but you never know Suzy and Jake could be on one of them! it just takes someone greedy or nice to notice it!

Sarah don't forget to ask if you need help in any particular area, we'll send out a plea over the internet. He's also young enough for new owners to think he isn't vaccinated so he must go to a vet soon - might be worth writing to local vets to ask if they'll scan any similar dog for a chip when asked to vaccinate - we all know vets don't do that as a matter of routine. If they ask for a chip to be inserted too... then we're laughing.. he'll be home quicker than we can blink... it's just making sure the vets know that...

Hi Jayne, it was on the BBC Breakfast news, they were saying about dog theft in Surrey, they shower Cody's poster and a dog wardens van saying for owners to be careful! I didn't realise that you would be on in the evening, i missed it :( hopefully they will show it again, i will look on the beeb web aswell to what it says on there!

Sarah - just so that you know, i have been sending out posters of Suzy to the people on the list that Dee produced (i think that you have been doing some phoning round). At the same time, i have enclosed posters of Jake as well. Areas done so far are: all areas of Haywards Heath, Hartfield, East Grinstead, Uckfield, Forest Row - i have also sent to all the stables on the list. Will have to do the balance tomorrow i think as i have some work that needs doing today! I will keep you informed.

Good Morning everyone! As your all aware it wasn't Jake, the little dog in question was stolen last year, but the owners successfully got him back! I feel quite bad now, as the owners have given us advice about stolen dogs in the Dormansland Area, will have to go and apologise! Never Mind, maybe next time, as Jayne said, at least people are looking! and thats the important thing! P.S I saw doglost on the news this morning, about thief in surrey! good luck with your meeting today!

Police went in-not Jake-the reason they acted so suspiciously to some ones questions is because the look alike dog had been stolen earlier this year from owners-In fact they have been in touch with Sarah adding support!!! Okay full story will appear after I have fed ourselves and answered 20 calls waiting! So sorry it was not Jake but shows people are aware and looking out!

I have printed off several of Jake's posters ... I have put them in areas where I walk my dogs (East Grinstead, Ashdown Forest, Sharpthorne areas. I will also take them to my dog training clubs and also to local agility and obedience shows .... have you put up posters in the East Grinstead area vets ... if not I can do that too. Hi Zoe, i will give them a go as Buddy went missing nr East Grinstead and they may cover that area, i am trying to make many people aware as i possibly can, i noticed when i was replacing some posters the other day that some shops have put notices up telling people not to leave there pets in cars and outside shops! Zoe could i please ask if it would be possible for you to place some posters up in the area you walk your dog? As we believe Jake could be anywhere now! Sarah - it sounds like you are working really hard, not only trying to find Jake but also other missing dogs in the area. You are doing a great job. The courier is a great idea - they do several different issues covering various areas - if you can get an article in them all then it would be even better. The only other local paper that i can think of would be the Sussex Express but that is possibly just outside of your area. Glad that you haven't given up on finding Jake. Good luck.

Sarah I was helping when Zoey GSD went missing last year from Edenbridge, which is the same sort of area. I found the sevenoaks area newspapers (sorry I can't remember it's name) were good at running stories - particularly if there is an "angle" for them - 5 dogs missing in your area might be enough for them to do it again. Hi Naomi, Afraid to say no news as yet, we have now upped the reward and will be placing more posters about, and replacing the old ones aswell. Jake went in the paper this week but they made a big mix up and put the wrong information down and the wrong phone number! Fingers crossed we will hear something soon as today its three weeks since he was taken!

Hi Everyone, just a quick update, i have received a email from Crimewatch, and the policeman dealing with Jake is going to call them, also i placed some more posters up, in lets just say not the most nices of places, the local paper is also going to run a small story about Jake, which will come out on Wednesday and also another local paper will print the story too which is good news! Everyone around is helping us find Jake, so fingers crossed as the word seems to be getting around quite quickly. Thanks for everyones help in helping us find Jake!!! Hi Everyone, I thought i would do a quick update, i have done a huge mailshot to all the local kennels, and dogs wardens, i have also sent 2 posters out to every school in the area so that we can raise awareness with the parents & teachers, should someone try and sell him at the schools. Unfortunitly i have not heard anything from the people who took Jake, but i will be going out this weekend and placing more posters up and visiting shops with posters to be placed in the windows. I will let everyone know if we have any news straight away.

Hi Sarah,thanks for your message on Alfies page. I just wish I could do more to help. Have you sent posters to supermarkets,pet shops,vets,animal shelters,kennels etc. Also ask people to put posters in the rear window of cars. I got a lot of people asking for posters. I put a dverts in all the papers and asked if anybody would like a poster,I had over 60 calls. We all care and all want to help. There are more good people than bad! Justine
