Hi, I have sighted an unaccompanied spaniel-type dog a couple of times in the last month or so in a small copse just outside Bassingbourn.

The google map reference is: 52.067278, -0.063589

The dog was brown and white- I couldn’t see if it had a collar on.

Fingers crossed.....Dash's owners now in touch with the rescue and are seeing the found dog tomorrow. Not sure if Dash has a liver patch on right shoulder area like the found boy?? Difficult to see from photos maybe.

email re the found springer sent on to me- i have responded and sent picture to you but i think the white on face does not match Dash- it is too narrow. CJ

Hi, I'm Jo the person that went looking for the Springer sighted in Westmill. You went to see my Husband at the farm. I drove accross the fields and to Aspenden, but didn't spot it I'm afraid.
There are a few rescue centres around here. Heathlands just outside Royston and R.A.T.S (rehoming animal telephone service) near Hare Street, just incase someone finds him and takes him there.

Many thanks, We have looked at the photograph and it is definitely not Dash. Hope the dog gets a good home.

Jarvis - i will email over KA1 address to you now

Hi, I have compared the photos of Dash and our found Springer and I think that they are probably not the same dog although photos are deceptive, our Springer does not have pink on the side of his nose and has spotty markings on his legs, if you ask admin to e mail me your e mail address I will send some photos of him, we have him in foster care at the moment and have a 28 day order out on him, if his owners do not come forward we will rehome him, it would have been so much easier if he had been chipped
KA1
Would you mind checking the facial markings on the 'Extra Image' to see if they tally and see if he responds to the name Dash. What are you going to do with him?
Jarvis Cocker
We thought at 1st he only had one, but he has one large one and one small one
KA1
Jarvis Cocker. Does he have one testicle? thanks. KH the owner.
Jarvis Cocker
Has Dash definately got a full tail, we have found a Springer that resembles Dash and he has a dry patch on his elbow, but he only has half a tail, we are in Yorkshire but as we know stolen dogs do travel, he was found with a bit of old rope around his neck.
DogLostReynard
Dash has a full Tail not particulary feathery as most Springers are and only one testicle so very noticeable I would have thought and will probably be a bit nervous so if you see a dog like this call owner and get them to check him out. Thanks so much for your help xxx Last edited: 2010-10-14 20:45:32 by Reynard

I live in Westmill and walk around the local area a lot. I'll keep a look out. Have you a picture from the back showing his markings. There are a lot of springers about and from the front they all look quite similar

In theory is should be Lodge Kennels on the A1 at Baldock - phone number is 01462 730464

Will poster nearby village of Nuthampstead, sadly I had a report of someone who lives in another village whose dog( gundog breed) " disapeared " turned up half an hour later in Saffron Walden( 8 miles away, he couldnt of run there in that time)luckily chipped and re-united, lets hope Dash is back soon.
Jo
I have started a thread for Dash on "englishspringer.org.uk" to let them know he's missing. It's a Springer Forum I'm on and covers the whole country. I hope this helps a little. He's also on some Greyhound forums I'm on too. Although the forums are for Sighthound owners, they are good people who will keep their eyes open. Last edited: 2010-10-10 22:36:15 by Jo
