Looks very similar. - 2010-10-12 20:53 Furlover - Area Co-ordinator, West Yorkshire
- An email has since been received in admin from the person who reported the sighted dog this afternoon and they were very concerned. Thank you to them so much for your help and contacting Doglost with the info !!!
The description (and kindly attached similar pic ) of the one seen on the M1 is not the girl missing from East Ardsley . The one sighted was wearing a black collar had different colouring black/dark tan and described as more lab cross. Checking out if any reported lost ones for the area with this description and hope this poor dog is ok.

- I feel very upset for this poor girl, she must be terrified, I know Sarah and Whitehall Dog Rescue and I am positive that they will be doing everything in their power to find her and when they do she will be well loved and looked after until a forever home can be found for her however long it takes.

- Have just got back from work and seen this and my heart was in my mouth worrying about the sighted dog. I rang and Sarah was already at the location searching. There hasnt been any further reports of it being seen by the police on the M1 after the initial report, so we are hoping the dog has gone back into the fields. It sounds as it may well be "our" dog as the location/ motorway junctions of the reported sighting are so VERY close to the area she went from, which would mean that she has been hiding out in the area. My fingers/toes EVERYTHING are crossed that this dog keeps safe (whoever she/he is ) They will be out checking the fields/barns this evening and update with any further info.
This girl is on Twitter, Facebook, Gumtree, NPR and dog wardens/kennels are aware so hopefully people will contact if there are further sightingsLast edited: 2010-10-12 19:25:03 by Furlover - Area Co-ordinator, West Yorkshire - 2010-10-12 16:03 Jayne - Founder Doglost.

- Thanks for keeping an eye out for this girl. Helpers are out checking outbuildings in the area again tonight. Dog wardens and kennels have been checked again today but nothing reported or picked up matching this girl as yet.She may be hiding up. We needed to source a "similar" picture to be able to create a poster and thankfully have found one which is a good likeness and ok'd - so will now be able to get posters printed out which we can get up in the area and distribute further afield. We just need to get a reported sighting of this girl. Keep safe xx

- The surrounding area is vast taking in places such as Thorpe (WF3), West Ardsley(WF3), Middleton(LS10), Ouzlewell Green(WF3), Carr Gate(WF3), Outwood(WF3). If traveling across the farm land this poor lady could be hiding in any of these villages.

- This girl escaped in East Ardsley after being taken from a local stray kennel to rescue placement . She is believed to have been used as a bait dog and had injuries to her neck which were treated by a vet so currently has stitches around her neck. She made it up to the gates of the rescue centre but was so scared that when the tailgate was opened she escaped and bolted. An immediate search around the area was made on foot and driving around the area, but as it was dark it was difficult. Wakefield, Leeds, Kirklees dog wardens are aware, as are vets in the area. Springfield, Mount Pleasant, Cliffe Kennels, and Fleet are being checked. Helpers at Whitehall are searching the area and checking outbuildings. There isnt a picture available Until we can find a "similar" picture we cant get a poster produced but hope we can source one asap.
The verbal description I have is this: German Shepherd cross -- medium size but BRINDLE colouring (like a staffie). She is smooth coated - slight feathering.but because her head has been shaved she has the appearance of an English Bull Terrier shape head. I will try to get some pictures together to send to Sara so she can see if any are similar.Last edited: 2010-10-10 21:37:50 by Furlover - Area Co-ordinator, West Yorkshire - 2010-10-10 20:24 Karenn

- Email just received.
Hi Barbara,
Unfortunatley we don't have a photo. We are a rescue Whitehall dog Rescue and she escaped on transport from the dog compound on Firday. Unfortunately this little girl is one of worst rescues we have seen. We think she has been used as a bait dog so its imperitive we find her. Just posting everywhere. Contacted all vets and pounds and wardens and we've been out with the dogs on foot looking for her and in cars. She's so frightened that she's likely to stay out of view which is making it very difficlut to find her.
I hope somebody in this area can help to find this poor girl. Barbara x - 2010-10-10 12:46 Goldenfrodo
