- Brilliant news !!!
So glad she did not go to far and very nice of the neighbour to ring the owners. Also shows the importance of a tag on a collar and posters for a phone number.
Welcome home pretty girl. xx - 2010-10-13 15:46 Millys Mum
- I have great pleasure in moving beautiful Ash to the Reunited area. I've just had one of her very happy owners on the phone to say that he had received a call around 45 mins ago to say that she was in the garden of a nearby house. Ash's owner returned to the park last night with their other dog and first thing this morning (armed with sausages!) but it seems she had moved on possibly under cover of darkness and appears to have been making her way back home. Owner wishes to thank DL for their support. Welcome home lovely Ash and no more running away from home!
Owners, thank you so much for letting us know as we just love these 'She's/He's home' calls. It makes it all so worthwhile for us and our Helpers.Last edited: 2010-10-13 15:52:03 by Millys Mum - 2010-10-13 11:11 Millys Mum
- ellejay - great to see you posting. Thanks, as always, for your support! Like you, I also suggested a disposable BBQ (probably still available from petrol stations or some supermarkets) and to go to the park where she was last sighted early morning or late evening (when it's nice and quiet) to entice this girl out as she must be getting hungry now, unless she's found herself a decent food source and water. Isn't she just beautiful? Her worried owner described her as nosey and so let's hope her curiosity gets the better of her.
Owners, please let us know if you need us to send you mini-flyers (3 or 4 to a page). I normally suggest just printing these in black & white onto brightly coloured paper (I found orange to be a good choice). It would be great if owners could post an update on Ash's DogLost page so that we can help you further.
Good Luck in your search and we hope to be able to move her across to the Reunited pages very soon. - 2010-10-12 22:04 ellejay
- So sorry to hear this beautiful girl is missing, i dont really know the Swanley area, but can poster around the Bromley and Chislehurst areas..
Though if there has been a sighting today, a great idea by millysmum about the clothing, also maybe go loaded with sausages, ( thats if Ash likes them ) As the smell might make her come running, if has worked with loads of dogs before that have been out on their own.
Poster heavily around this park, and put mini flyers in peoples doors, she may be hiding under bushes at the back of someones garden.
I really hope she is found soon xx - 2010-10-12 21:03 Millys Mum
- Bumped up due to a positve sighting! I've just spoken to Ash's owner who is currently out in a park in Swanley where she was sighted at approx 6pm this evening. I've advised him to leave an item of clothing. He plans to go home, to collect their other dog and to place the item of clothing within the park. I have also advised him to return at 'first light'. The park backs on to houses & so it may be that Ash is finding her way into the back gardens. If so, I have asked him to request our mini-flyers so that he can poster all local houses. If necessary, I have also said that we could locate a trap, if needed. The young lad who approached her this evening said Ash backed off and growled a little, although this is unusual for her but, as we know, it doesn't take long for their natural self-survival instincts to kick in. The owner says she's normally very nosey. She actually went missing from home when visitors left the house and left the front door open. Their other dog returned on his own. Please, if anyone see Ash, please don't chase her but call either of the numbers on the poster.Last edited: 2010-10-12 21:31:18 by Millys Mum

- I'm so sorry to hear that Ash is missing but it's reassurring to know that she is both chipped and tattooed. I hope to call you tomorrow evening to find out more details i.e whether she went missing from home or on a walk. I really don't know Swanley very well and so hope we have Helpers in the area who can help poster and provide some good local advice, I hope it won't be long until Ash is back home. Good Luck!Last edited: 2010-10-11 22:03:38 by Millys Mum

- Hi , sorry to see Ash is missing. Someone will try and make personal contact with you as soon as possible, to offer advice and help. Can you please send a photo to admin@doglost.co.uk as soon as possible. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres. Give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars. You can find vets in your own area by clicking on the green logo which says “Find Any UK VET”, on the right hand side of the page under the “latest missing dogs” photo - top right. You can also add comments and update the dog’s status, e.g.sightings, re-united etc. by clicking on “add a comment” at the bottom of the page. If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and at the same time, check that all details held, are up to date. Start postering now! I CANNOT EMPHASISE HOW VERY IMPORTANT THIS IS. If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be re-homed legally, after 7 days, so please try to visit rescue centres, to look for your dog & give them a poster. Do not rely on checking by phone alone, as other people may not recognise your dog by your description. Good luck.
