- Hello, this is a long shot but we rescued a lurcher that looks like Bud two weeks ago. This was in Derbyshire and he was wearing a collar, not a harness but of course he could have been given the collar by someone else since he went missing.
As I say it is a long shot but I am happy to email a photo to you if you like. The boy we rescued is entire, probably around seven years old and although very sweet natured he does not seem to respond to any words or toys. He is quite large, about 28 inches tall. - 2012-12-13 20:16 Unknown

- Message from Bud's family.-----
Sadly bud was never found. There were a couple of possible sightings of him but nothing very convincing, my dad followed them up and spent weeks driving around and searching woods, going out at night, and searching streets but nothing. The local papers did a couple of good articles but sadly he was never found. Thank you so much for all your help through it.

- Have you seen missing lurcher Bud?
Oct 27 2010 by Alison Lowson, Stirling Observer Wednesday
A POSSIBLE sighting of their much-loved pet has brought renewed hope to a Cambusbarron couple searching for their lost lurcher Bud.
In last week’s Observer Charlie and Jane Ross appealed to readers to help them find their elderly dog, who disappeared during his regular walk on Gillies Hill near the village.
Charlie told the Observer: “We received a call from one of your readers, a lady, who saw a lurcher-type dog similar to Bud (she's unsure whether he had a harness on or not) in a confused state probably last Wednesday (October 20) or Thursday.
“It was around 4pm and the dog was crossing Craigs roundabout (traffic had to stop for him).
“Her last sighting of him he was walking up Burghmuir Road, heading toward Poundstretcher opposite the Islamic Centre.
“Looking at the road lay-out, it’s possible that he then went up Linden Avenue towards Braehead.”
The couple, who have been knocking on doors and putting posters up on shop windows, also thanked local walkers who have joined the search for 14-year-old Bud, who suffered a stroke seven months ago and is unsteady on his legs.
Anyone who sees Bud, who was wearing a blue harness when he disappeared, can contact the couple on 07849 746483 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 07849 746483 end_of_the_skype_highlighting.
Charlie and Jane said: “Should any kind-hearted person have taken him in to help care for him please let us know as he needs regular check-ups with his vet and his family are missing him greatly.
“Heartfelt thanks to other walkers who have kindly been helping us to look for him.”

- Have now spoken to owner's daughter, and poor Bud who has dementia, went missing on a walk. Although everyone is searching, there are no signs so far of where he is. Have given scenting advice.

- This is my parents dog. He has dementia and has been very confused. He disappeared on his normal walk up the hill. He may still be in that area or possibly made his way down back to the road. There have been people looking for him since yesterday but sadly no sign. He may not respond to his name if called. Last edited: 2010-10-14 13:42:55 by nezi55
