Dear all, i just wanted to write and say a big thank you to all the volunteers and anyone who has looked on this site and given their time to try and help find Twiglet and Gertie. My partner and I handed out just under a 1000 posters last weekend in Dorset as one final push. Whilst i will continue to scan the rescue sites for them or give up all hope, i do feel it is time to move on and my only wish now is that they are both well and sitting together on someone's sofa eating biscuits and being thoroughly spoilt! It's very difficult to express quite how devasting it has been to lose them but i am hopefully going to be getting a rescue dog so that something good can come out of it. Am sure Twiglet won;t mind giving her bed up to another mutt in need. I've made a small donation to doglost as a way to say thank you for all the support. Even if it hasn't brought either of my two home, i hope it helps someone else be reunited with their dog. Thanks again. Becky

Thank you Spindle for bumping up both Twiglet and Gertie. Both my partner and I are scouring the animal sanctury websites daily and have sent posters out to them. Wake up every day thinking that it may just be the day we get a phone call. Gertie is chipped and neutuered. Their is a substantial reward for either Gertie or Twiglets safe return (or even better both of them!). Will not ask any questions just dearly would like them back home and curled up on the sofa. Just an update to say Twiglet and Gertie are still missing. There has not been sight nor sound of either of them. we have sent posters out to all the dog rescue sanctury's in Dorset, Devon, Hampshire and Somerset and have done another appeal on the Local Radio. I'm going to go down to Dorset soon and do another poster blitz. I find it so odd that neither of them have been sighted. i hope this means they are still together. Thank you. Becky

Thank you Spindle. All the details are up to date on the chip. I spoke to a very nice guy today who has found a dog (and placed it on doglost) that looks very much like Gertie (ID: 26089) and is going to get back to me after he has taken it to the vets to scan for a microchip. whilst the description matches, this dog only has half a tail so unlikely to be Gertie but does give everyone a better idea of what she looks like! I only hope that where ever my two are, they are with someone like this gentleman who was very kind and gave me some comfort that mine are ok. Will keep everyone updated. Becky

My partner and I have been blitzing the local towns and also the cattle markets with posters etc. We recieved a phone call today from a lady who saw Twiglet last weekend (23rd/ 24th) at Slape Manor near Netherbury/ Bridport. She still had her collar on and looked fine. We are going to blitzed that area today as it is in the opposite direction from where we thought they had gone. Fingers crossed and hoping Gertie was just hiding around the corner! Thank you. Becky

Hello, I am Gertie's co - owner. Unfortunately, we have not received any news about her or Twiglet to date. Obviously we are very worried about them but just wanted to say thank you to everyone who is helping to try and find her. I will, of course, keep you all updated if any news is received. Thank you again. Becky. PS I will also be trying to find a better photo of Gertie this evening!

I have spoken to the people that Twiglet and Gertie were staying with while owners are on holiday. They have done all the right things, contacted all the right people but no sign of them. They are now going to contact the local hunt terrier man and other people who may be able to help.
