- Really do wish that more dog wardens and kennels dealing in stray dogs brought into them would use doglost.co.uk as their first point of contact

- Cassie's owners called me while I was out this afternoon to say she WAS at Fleet and that he would be going to collect her tomorrow. I dont think we better reunite her until we are CERTAIN the found dog is Cassie. It does sound as though it must be here as the found dog was picked up outside a local school by the dog warden. This was exactly where the last sighting of her was and its just so frustrating the owners reports of her being missing werent matched with a dog of the same breed and description picked up on the same day in the same area she went missing werent matched up by the powers that be !! Her owner is going to let us know for definate that it is her tomorrow when he has been to the kennels. Thankyou Phoenix for following up with Fleet kennels !!

- Phoenix57...Thank you! Local knowledge is invaluable...looks like you have solved this case...and proves why doglost exists...because of the previous lack of communication between authorities...and the need to advise owners ...to call direct. But as we all know when your dog is missing we dont think straight...and it needs peeps like you to advise and as it looks...getting a result. So well done!

- I called the owners earlier to advise about kennels to call and unfortunately the environmental health department had not given them the phone number for Fleet Kennels or suggested they call directly. Their report doesn't seem to have been linked up with a found dog :( The owner of Fleet checked the found dog against the photo on the poster and is pretty sure that she is Cassie. The found dog was picked up the same day, in the same area Cassie went missing so hopefully will be a happy ending tomorrow. ALWAYS CHECK WITH YOUR LOCAL STRAY KENNELS DIRECTLY.

- Tried to ring Cassies owner but no reply. Will try again later. It is possible she may have headed the other way ( Keighley is midway between Bradford and Skipton jurisdiction ) so may have been picked up by Skipton dog warden. Kennels used by Skipton DW are Mosside Kennels, Sandyforth Lane, Cowling. 01535 637043

- Thanks Gilka ! I have just spoken with Cassie's owner and he is going to look at the website. He has checked with Fleet Kennels and she does'nt appear to be there but I have strongly advised him to visit them in person. He has also had no luck in tracing her previous owner to whom Cassie is still microchipped.

- They also need to check Alfies Boarding Kennels in Bradford. Long shot but there is a black and white bitch at Springfield kennels, I know it's a long way away but we've had one recently where the dog was taken there and it was way out of area...

- Cassie escaped from her garden and her owners had phone calls to say she was outside a local School. They drove straight over to the school but there was no sign of her by then. She is microchipped to a previous owner and her present owners are trying to contact them to let them know she is missing. They will also be contacting Fleet Kennels tomorrow morning. Cassie is a very friendly girl and may well have been taken in by someone. Owners are going to poster ASAP and have said they will send a photo of her into us. Hoping to see Cassie back home very soon ~ PamLast edited: 2010-10-20 21:28:08 by Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
