Putting this on at the request of co ordinator Mollychops. She was alerted to the found dog yesterday and it is definately NOT 36710. Thanks for posting though.

Looks very much like the girl in the found section, good luck
Flintstones
Might be worth checking in the found section 36710 - similar colours and similar stance.

Yes, we are aware of the excellent Lurcher Link rescue, and they are also aware of this site. It does seem surprising that so many lurchers are stolen when they are easy enough to obtain legally.
jansus
I saw also a very similar dog ( as in male unfortunately) offered for re-homing on Lurcher link this week and it had been found tied to a lampost- are you aware of this site? It might be worth you doing a search on the word saluki as I think their records go back a while. I dont understand while so many of these dogs are stolen when the people who steal them could breed from their own dogs anyway? I know my lurcher is a cross and not so lovely as this one but apparently he was just dumped at a few weeks old before he was then in rescue for a year.

This is a crazy idea I know. But I just happened to see something on FB about six lurchers abandoned in Staffordshire. three female three male. One of them looks a lot like this girl. It's a real long shot ????http://www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk/lurchers-abandoned-Volvo-fitted-false-plates/story-14412788-detail/story.html

I am afraid to say that there may be a link about this lost girl with an article in the Cheltenham Echo newspaper on 23rd August. look up www.this is gloucestershire.co.uk and in search box put in the words 'small female greyhound lurcher cross' This dog was found injured with spinal injuries and was put to sleep after being hit by a car. The Echo was appealing for anyone who knew who was the owner.Police Incident 223 of 23.8.11. Tel 0845 0901234. ( Vet was Nicole Blakey, for Cheltenham Animal Shelter) Best Wishes. .Last edited: 2011-09-04 01:24:35 by Oiga

Just came across this female who was up for rehoming on the 25th Nov '10, so would have been handed in on the 17/18th Nov, about two weeks after your girl was stolen. Very similar in looks!

I know it's a long shot, but there is a female described as Collie/Lurcher, black and tan found in Shropshire. was found limping. Looking at the photo above the lost girl could be described as looking like a Collie/Lurcher cross.
The found dog is on here, but no photo!
