Hi All,

Just wanted to express a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has been so helpful in the search for Mac. The support received from Dog Lost and my local community has been overwhelming, and without it Mac would probably still be roaming the streets.

Mac is settling in brilliantly, he showers me with kisses all day long, and is a very well behaved boy, he puts my Labradoodle Harry to shame!! I will of course send a picture of Mac when I get the chance.

I will also make sure that Lost Dog receive a donation as a thank you for all the help.

If there is anything I can do to help other owners who have lost their dogs please let me know, I will be more than happy to help.

Many many thanks,

Vicky

Goldenfrodo
I am so relieved as I've been really worried about this boy.
Thanks for the phone call last night Angus.
Stay safe now Mac. Your family worked really hard to find you. Well done Vicky xx

Brilliant news - welcome home Mac - stay safe xx
DogLostAngus
Mac is safe - owners followed advice re how to approach him and when he was spotted owner sent her dog ahead to play and lay down on her belly in the mud offering pilchards towards Mack - his hunger overcame him and she was able to get hold of him by his collar and he is now on his way home in the car - he will be going to the vets for a check up in the morning.
Owners will be making a donation to doglost which will help us to continue to help owners - BIG THANK YOU and they would like to thank everyone for their support over the last few days

Vicky, try the local dog warden for a dog trap. I know the West Lancs dog warden has a trap as we have used it.

Vicky
Hi,

Had a call today from someone who spotted Mac in the field behind her house in Longridge. I immediately left work and went to find him with her. When I arrived she was already in the field with her two dogs, and said she had lost him but had seen him from a distance. After a while we both gave up and started walking back, on our way back we spotted Mack walking about 10 meters away from us on the next field. he was either following the tin of sardines I had in my hand or the lady's dogs. When I turned around to speak to him he ran away.

This is so frustrating as the poor dog does not know me at all - I have asked around to see if there is anywhere we can get a humane trap from, but weren't able to find one. I have asked the previous owners to come tomorrow to call him and see what happens - I'm just worried he'll be gone by then.

Has anyone got any other suggestions on how to lure him or where I can find one of these traps?

Many Thanks,

Vicky

Have changed breed to Curly Coated Retriever.

Vicky has just phoned me to say that Mac has been sighted today not very far from where he went missing. He doesnt know the area at all and probably wouldnt recognise her if he saw her.
She has contacted his previous owners in Liverpool but they are not able to help.
Have advised her to tell people not to chase him and also if seen again to try to lure him into a garden with some smelly titbits such as sardine or pilchards and then contact her. Unfortunately Vicky has to go away due to work committments but her partner will be at home.
Hope this boy can be caught soon.

On NPR this dog is indeed entered as a curly coated retriever
Vicky
still haven't heard anything, going out today to do some more poster-ing. I have a large reward put aside should someone return him.

If anyone knows anything at all please contact us. Thank you to Barbara and everyone at Dog Lost for their continuing help.

Now spoken to owner. Everything is being done to try to find Mac. Hopefully we might know more after the weekend if somebody has found him and hands him in on Monday.
Fingers tightly crossed he's home soon.
Vicky
Thank you so much for your help everyone. Still haven't heard anything. I don't know where else to look.
Goldenfrodo
Phoned owner and left message with my landline number for them to contact me. Also sent poster and Mac's details to contacts I have in the area.

I could well be mistaken but to me this looks like a liver Curly Coated Retriever ( I used to own them). I think there is a breeder in the locality if it is.
