Deb4gsd- I said myself this looks really similar to poppy but this dog has since been caught god bless him and so now obvious it is not our poppy seeing as it's a male :-( also poppy has a half docked tail, so so gutted! thanks for the possible though x

Hi, I know this is a long shot, but worth mentioning. Somebody pointed out about a Norfolk Terrier running loose in Cambridgeshire, very timid. Looking at Poppy's photo, she looks very similar to this stray. She could easily have been picked up and dumped in Cambridge area. Here is a link to a site about the dog and there is also a link to photos!

Nothing Jo :-( i cant believe there has been no sightings since the day she went! im hoping wherever she is, she's warm and not hungry. I have been over the fields everyday talking to dog walkers, they all seem to be aware of Poppy due to the posters but no one has sighted her either. Dont really know what to do now as i've covered a good 1-2 miles either side of last sighting

Have there been any more sightings or update Debs?

Hopefully with all the posters, flyers and spreading the word, the calls will come in now. Have you left an article of clothing/old towel, something like that, with your scent on in the Mill area? Hopefully she is staying around a small area so something familiar may well help.

Thanks Lilylouise, i have been handing out flyers in the local area and also posting through doors. Also handed the postman in the sorting office a handful of flyers to give out to the postman delivering in the area. Gave out to a waitrose and asda delivery drivers too. Taxi driver radioed through asking all drivers to keep a look out. Spoke to farmer's wife who owns most of the land around there, they hadnt seen her but will notify staff at the chicken farm too for us. Also notified fisherman at the lakes. Allotments also have posters put up. Pet shop notified and poster put up too. We did see her doo doo's behind the mill, i know to most this may sound weird but i think most of us know our own dogs mess, and it's not on a regular walking track and also the last area sighting we had of her but obviously dont know when she did it! starting to which it was date stamped lol think we have covered just about everything and everywhere in the local vacinity. We did get one call of a possible sighting but it turned out not to be poppy :-( but at least the posters are working!

Debbie, I am local to you and have text all my local doggie friends and also posted on my Facebook that Poppy is missing. As well as the posters if you can print off small stickers or pieces of paper with details of Poppy missing and your mobile number then hand them out to cab drivers/milkman and others that are out early and late you should get some sightings. Good luck.

Hi all, Im absolutely shattered! non stop walking around Rochford/Stambridge area. I managed to get out at 6.30am this morning to catch all the early dog walkers, several of them saw/heard about poppy yesterday, she was last sighted running in the middle of Stambridge road heading towards the old Mill being chased by a man, she is terrified of men so im not surprised she ran, she then headed off over the fields towards Purdeys industrial estate up by the river (still on stambridge side of the river) but no definite sightings today :-(( not sure if thats a good thing or not! we managed to put up some posters this evening and also some flyers in front doors. We're off out at day break over the fields to see if she surfaces.

Just managed to get hold of Debbie she is out putting posters up. Poppy was spotted in Stambridge Road by the old mill. She said she will post an update later on when she gets back home.Last edited: 2010-11-12 16:03:32 by AlisonH

Sorry I can't confirm the location. Debbie called me on my mobile and the reception is very poor. I have put down all the information I know. She should be back from work soon so I will try and get more info.

I would presume it is more the Ashingdon side shazzyk rather than by Gusted/Cherry Orchard, hopefully Ashmark will be able to confirm location as she's been in contact with owner.

Im going up to Gusted Hall with the dogs in about half hour is this where they are describing or are we talking more Ashingdon side ???

Debbie has been out searching this morning and met several dog walkers who spotted Poppy yesterday, last sighting was about 2pm. She is heading towards fields and a river. I don't know the area but apparently a lot of lamping goes on around there.Last edited: 2010-11-12 10:52:22 by AlisonH

If it is still Debs that has Poppy then she'll know to contact Acres Way kennels, but incase she was rehomed please advise owners to Ashmark. Kennels number is 01268 770402.

This little dog escaped from home when a workman left the door open. She has only been with owner since 14th September.(was found dog 25093). Scenting instruction have been given and poster and flyers are being made up and sent along with general advice, a list of dog wardens and names of a few rescue centres.
Can email alerts be sent out please.Last edited: 2010-11-12 07:37:02 by AlisonH
