Absolutely wonderful news. The owners of Tweed m ust be in "Seventh Heaven" I bet Tweed cant believe it either. Did he recognize his owners straightway? Would love to know how long it takes for a long lost dog to settle down with his/her previous owners. Cant wait for an update from Tweed`s owners. Stay safe now Tweed:-) :-) :-) :-)xxx Give him a (HUG) from me.

This is amazing...so wonderful...but all those lost years. What heart it must give to all the poor people who have all-but given up. 'Never say never' eh!
I'd love to know whether Tweed recognised her original owners - but I agree that the description of Cairn may have hampered recognition. Welcome home little Tweed.

wonder if Daily Mail would want to do another article 8 years on - great story and great promotion re scanning at vetsLast edited: 2013-01-10 09:23:53 by PennyBw

Thrilled that this girlie is back home - BUT the photo doesn't show a Cairn Terrier! It looks more like a Lhasa cross. If I was looking for a lost cairn, I wouldn't look twice at a scruffy crossbred. The fact she isn't what she is supposed to be, may have hampered her return? But still pleased she's home. :-)

truly amazing - if only compulsory scanning by vets was introduced but what a great start to the day ..

Amazing...Almost 8 years later..I guess that was down to the microchip. Remember Tweed well as the Dailymail article is in our scrap book...owners must be overjoyed at last to get Tweed back....wonder if anyone will report Tweed missing to the dog warden.

Tweed has been found wandering and dumped in Wantage less than 10 miles from where she was stolen almost 8 years ago. She was returned to her owner on Monday 7th January 2013.
This tells us all we should never give up hope.
She is now going to enjoy the rest of her life
