- Found Dalmation listed onlostyourpet.net
FOUND . Dalmation
Found am 18th March by the side of the road known as "The Lonnen" which runs between Backworth and Seghill. Very skinny, no collar male dalmation dog. Please note for info this poor chap has been taken to Newcastle Cat And Dog Shelter, Benton Road, Benton tel 0191 215 0435, if this is your dog please contact the shelter. - 2011-01-20 18:02 JNangle
- Went on alfielostdogs and got re directed to manchester dogs home - where I really thought they had Oscar, unfortunalty on visiting today this wasn't the case. The dalmation they have in has a chip but when they scanned it no information had been registered. The dog was picked up in Bury on the 10th January and if the owners don't pick him up before Tuesday he will be rehomed. The dog has no spots on his face and has a funny eye (one blue). So if anyone can help him find his owners or hears of a dalmation lost from the bury area pass on this info. He looked in good shape so mustn't have been lost for long.

- Hi Keo61 - I've had a look at the picture on the site and sadly this isn't Oscar although very similar. Thankyou for your continued support i'm overwhealmed that people are still looking out for him. A dalmation was also spotted on preloved website however i've had no luck finding it myself and i've searched through all dogs advertised on that site - so if anybody sees him please send me the link. Thanks x

- There is a male dalmatian on the Animal Helpline web page called Frosty - the photo's are at different angles so it's a bit difficult to match up the spots and I'm not sure it's Oscar but the owner could probably tell in a split second so worth eliminating.

- Hi Rachel, thanks for the link - I have just had a look and Oscar is tagged so it mustn't be him as they said that the dog found isn't chipped. I do hope the owner locates him. Thanks again

- Hi,
I spotted a male Dalmatian today around 3.00pm in Newsham Park in Liverpool.
He was on his own and was wearing a red collar and I.D tag/s but i could not get close enough to have a look.
Not sure if this is the same dog as the area is different but thought it may be worth a try.
Best of luck!Last edited: 2010-11-29 19:51:45 by Animal Aid 1990 - 2010-11-25 11:29 sheralike
- As far as I know Oscar has still not been sighted anywhere. It is heartening to see how many people have crossposted him to loads of sites, dog people are marvellous - let's hope there is some news soon.

- Any news or sightings? Any further forward with any kind of media coverage? x
- 2010-11-22 20:56 JNangle

- Hiya, had a bit of spare time this morning so made a FB page, hope we are allowed to post links on here, here it is: http://www.facebook.com/portia.lol#!/pages/Help-Find-Oscar-the-Dalmatian-missing-from-Bacup-North-West/121704027894399
if you are on FB, join it and leave a wall post or message saying you're Oscars owner and I will add you to the admin, then you can update the group as you wish and post updates/info xx - 2010-11-21 21:32 JNangle
- Gerby didnt manage to sort the face bookpage if you could give me some pointers on how to set this up that would be great. Thx to Sheralike for popping round tonight it was very much appreciated xxx

- The dalmatian on a red lead with the unlikely owner is a bitch called Olly or Holly!! Already chscked her out as she was following him round Bacup on Friday with lead trailing!
- 2010-11-21 09:03 JNangle
- Thanks for all your support and encouragment, i shall ring the free press and see what they can do story wise. Lots of people are keeping a look out. A dalmation was spotted in Stacksteads on a lead with two unlikley owners (not sure its fair to say that) however I did go to the location and leaflet all the homes in the area just on the off chance. I shall have a go at the facebook page and let you know. Thanks again x

- Poster up in Boundary Mill staff canteen! Hopefully theres a few from out that way and will also spread the word im sure!
Will also put one up at dog training on Tuesday if there is no good news by then! Good idea in running a story! Do you use Facebook? a Facebook group spreads quickly and reaches lots of people, if you're not a Facebook user then I will make a group, lots of people tend to join them. Stay positive!! - 2010-11-20 20:51 sheralike
- Gave out posters to my handlers at dog club tHurs and they have promised to put them up, various locations. Put word out around Todmorden today, local farmer whose land he went missing near says he has definitely not shot him thank God. As Gerby says it's early days, don't give up. Get Free Press to run it as a story rather than pay for a tiny ad - you know, 101 Dalmatians and one's missing, young lad missing him, that type of thing.
- 2010-11-20 08:50 JNangle
- Gerby thankyou so much this is a great help, i just hope somebody hasn't picked him up and sold him on and its to far away. I shall put the ad in the rossendale free press, perhaps other local papers aswell.
- 2010-11-19 23:29 Angus
- so sorry that you have had no news yet on the handsome Oscar - are you able to get an advert into the local free paper - with a picture if possible - someone may have taken him in and this may reach a wider range of people that posters and flyers can , stay strong x
- 2010-11-19 22:00 Gerby
- updated just to say that I have e-mailed the poster to my dad, hopefully he will send it round all local police stations
- 2010-11-19 21:30 Gerby
- Don't lose hope - it is still early days! I have put posters up in Burnley bus station, Waterlife & Pets in Burnley and one in the pet shop in Nelson, hope that helps! Will also put one up at work tomorrow. If I can find a way of e-mailing the poster then I can get my dad to circulate it around lancashire constabulary as he is a police officer, have you made a Facebook group or anything? they can often help, if you need a hand with that then i'm more than happy to help - don't give up!
- 2010-11-19 17:23 JNangle
- Day 6 now and i am losing all hope that we will get Oscar back. Radio Lancashire put a message out today - so if anybody heard please let me know - i missed it due to work
- 2010-11-18 22:00 Gerby
- okay will put posters up in the pet shop in Burnley tomorrow, will see if Pets at Home will have one as well! I work in boundary mill - so lots of staff probably some from over Bacup way so hopefully that might help, best of luck - hope he's home soon!
- 2010-11-18 15:28 JNangle
- Hope so, ive walked miles today somebody must have taken him in - well fingers crossed they have
- 2010-11-18 14:10 sheralike

- 2010-11-17 18:14 JNangle
- Thankyou so much for the poster, we have done a leaflet drop tonight in the local vacinity and have posters up near dog walking places and in shops. Could really do with posters going up in the neirbouring towns if anyone is avaliable to help out. Am really worried now that he is lost on the moors, i shall be putting my rucksac on tomorrow and heading of in search of him.

- Sorry to see that OSCAR is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (26275)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.

- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
