- I'm so very sorry to hear this sad news. Although I hadn't posted, I had been checking Tia's page and always hoping I would see her reunited with her family. We share our home with a Rottie girl which is why I was drawn to her missing story. My thoughts are with her family. She was such a beautiful girl. May she rest in peace - sweet dreams Tia...x

- I was there recently and this poster is up in their reception area, they have a special board for strays. phone the sspca kennels anyway, altough the dont take stray dogs they do log all details of lost and found dogs just in case. They dont have dogs in the kennels just now as the recent snow has severly damaged the roofs so all dogs were taken to the spca's in glasgow and hamilton. hope u find her

- Thanks doglover1, just checked but it is not Tia. Tia is taller than your average Rottie. Hopefully get some news soon. xx

- Thanks doglover1. I had a look at the dog on Dogsblog, but I don't think it is Tia as the description says it is small for a rottie, and Tia looks more leggy, but Tia's owner would be the best one to judge.Last edited: 2010-12-19 08:40:43 by Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland

- Hi AR,
We did have an advert in the local paper the Peeblesshire News which covers Biggar, West Linton and Peebles but we only received one phone call from someone who spotted her in West Linton three days after she went missing. We have been in contact with all local farmers who are aware she is missing. Thanks for all the comments x - 2010-12-18 18:41 gingernuts mum
- sspca in edinburgh aren,t advertising dogs on their site at the moment because, due to recent bad weather, access to their centre is difficult ...all dogs are being re homed via other centres....still worthwhile phoning and checking on any dogs they may have picked up. I,m keeping a lookout, everywhere i go....town or country. I agree with AR, don;t give up hope x
- 2010-12-18 17:29 Leona*
- I cannot believe what your going through but stay strong and dont give up hope, Sable is right it may not have been her at Ikea, in such a built up busy area it would be strange that only 1 person saw this dog but stranger things happen, however it is quite aways to travel for her. I really do think you need to advertise in another paper more local to West Linton, is there a local paper in Biggar? These are the sort of things locals and farmers read, and alot of these small papers have farming pages perhaps an ad on there? I notice the SSPCA in Edinburgh isnt displaying any dogs on the website and I wonder if this is just because they dont rehome over Christmas - keep phoning them and the Edinburgh cat and dog home as not all dogs are on there website either. Wishing you the best of luck x

- This is what people do all the time. They take in a dog they find and keep it, give to someone else or sell it. It is just unbelievable, and they do not seem to realise that it si THEFT !!!! If the dog has been moved out of the area, it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.Last edited: 2010-12-18 08:25:54 by Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland

- Have done everything on the advice sheet, we don't have any railways near us. Think someone must have her, why would you not report a lost dog!
- 2010-12-17 21:48 Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
- It may not have been Tia near Ikea. Other people's idea of the same dog sometimes is incorrect although well meant. Not knowing is the worst thing of all.It is torture. Have you covered everything on the advice sheet - railways etc ?
- 2010-12-17 21:06 lkinnear20
- Not one phone call, beginning to lose hope!
Somebody must have seen her. Can't bear not knowing where she is, we all miss her so much. - 2010-12-17 18:56 gingernuts mum
- just a pity the woman at ikea hadn't pursued the dog and got it to safety, if it was on it's own. Personally i don;t understand how anyone can see a dog running loose...and in a busy area and leave it!
- 2010-12-17 18:42 gingernuts mum
- saw the advert in tonights paper.....hope you get a response. Somebody, somewhere must have seen her or know where she is. have you tried Sspca.?...I know they have a shelter somewhere in the borders, also in balerno... also Whitmuir farm out your way get a lot of visitors from town...possibly see if they would put a poster up? Stay safe tia x
- 2010-12-16 14:35 lkinnear20
- Have another advert in the this Friday's Evening News
- 2010-12-12 10:32 Leona*
- Great youve had a sighting, can you poster the shops round there as there are loads of them, Ikea, Costco, Sainsburys might all display a poster and then theres the McDonalds she might be drawn to the food smells. Dont forget the Dick Vet is out that way too x
- 2010-12-12 08:27 Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
- A lot of people may read the paper on a Sunday when not at work. Hope you get some more news soon.Have your tried giving a bunch of fliers to Big Issue sellers to hand out? They are usually very helpful.Last edited: 2010-12-12 08:30:22 by Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland

- Yes, thanks, the advert does stand out. We received a phone call at around 1 o clock to today from a lady who saw a dog near Ikea, the dog looked very similar Tia but she couldn't see if she had a collar on. She was on her own and running towards the Edinburgh area. We have been out searching that area today but did not see anything, and so far no more phone calls.
- 2010-12-11 17:31 Leona*
- Well done on a very prominent advert in the Edinburgh Evening News, theres a special pets page on a Saturday and it really stands out. I wonder if there is another local newspaper you could advertise in as West Linton is quite far out from Edinburgh but still an EH postcode. I hope your beautiful girl is home soon x

- At least with that sighting, you know she was alive at that point and from there, someone may have taken her in. Poster that area heavily. Will give you a ring today.
- 2010-12-04 22:18 lkinnear20
- Received a phone call tonight from someone who had seen Tia last Sunday in West Linton, she was not injured, just looked lost. We have been out searching the area but their is no sign.
- 2010-12-04 16:27 lkinnear20
- I have tried Edinburgh Dog and cat home a couple of time but they don't have her. We placed an advert in our local paper which came out on Friday but so far have had no phone calls.
- 2010-12-04 13:29 Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
- I think all rescue kennels have been informed and I have sent them a poster of Tia also.Searching has been done regularly and there have been no sightings so far.
- 2010-12-03 23:41 doberman78

- Hi, I have called candicassa kennels a couple of times and she has a description of Tia, I am trying other rescues daily but can't get out due to the snow. We live in Borders area and I have put an advert in our local paper the Peeblesshire News which covers a large area but I will put one in the Evening News too. It would be great if you could spread the word at Peter Gregory's.
Thanks - 2010-12-01 00:05 Lassie
- I can contact Liz at candicassa kennels in Rosewell 5 mns from me ans spread the word at Peter Gregory`s training school for dogs in penicuik. Do phone kennels everyday to check like Linda advises as when My Murphy turned up the agreed he looked different from his poste rpicture. Murphy was a bit bedraggled and thin so keep checking. Edinburgh Evening News for a Thirsday slot gets a good response it cost me £20 (18Nov) and believe it helped. Hamish the cairn found on Sunday was in response to evening news. Anything I can do happy to help Pat
