Poor lass must have been so frightened after having just been re-homed and not knowing what to do and who to go to, after running off. So glad she is safe now.

Thank you to everyone who helped to find Bambi all our helpers, friends, police, & the people of Selsey village who really rallied round to search for Bambi. I went to see her this afternoon she is well & happy & completely unfazed by her experience. I gave her a huge kiss & cuddle from everyone. Thank you to 'Dogs Lost' for all your advice & support you are all truly remarkable people. Bless you all. I am now off for a good nights sleep for the first time since Thursday!! Think we are all starting to thaw out now standing in the middle of a field cooking bacon & sausages is not my idea of fun in this weather! Again huge thanks. Hopefully Bambi goes to her new home in a couple of days........bless her.

Latest update from lab rescue: Bambi has still not allowed herself to be caught, but the searchers have found where she has made herself a bed in some straw. She appears to have been living on chicken feed. They have left a blanket for her and plenty of tasty food and will continue their efforts tomorrow when it gets light.

Thats good news shes been seen now,ive been worried about this one.Lets just hope she can find it in herself to trust someone enough to let herself be caught and brought in out of the cold.Good luck.xxx

I have been advising with this one as the rescue called me this morning to ask if we could come down and track Bambi. We will not be doing this as shortly afterwards a sighting was reported and the situation very quickly changed from searching to catching. There were 2 sightings this morning and foster mum headed to the scene. Bambi is in a rural area, searchers are trying to confine her to a couple of fields. It's definitely Bambi, complete with red collar, and she nearly came to one lady but lost her nerve and backed off. Another lab who was fostered with her and gets on well with her is being driven to the field, as are a couple of steady older labs. Have advised searchers to fry up bacon and sausages on a picnic stove and they are going to do this. It's a question of everyone being very patient. Even if they don't get her today, with any luck they should be able to make sure she has some food.

Thanks Jayne, part of email from rescue...No news yet except some people rang about 4-30 they had seen her last night at about 11-45 near a place that was quite a way from where she went missing from!! Apparently she was heading back towards where she had come from. We have been down there but nothing. We have not heard anything else. Really worried about her & the cold.
