Hi
Thought you might want to take a look at this girl found in Wakefield.

The dog that was found on the M11 in December, was it definately an akita as there was a bulldog dead on the fast lane about that time near the north weald area so might not be this dog.
Leslie
Hi everyone

Good luck to those that have lost their dog and found them again as a result of this wonderful site. We haven't given up hope of one day finding our Genie. Just wanted to let whomever has her...I hope she runs off and finds her way back to me :P

I know this is a long shot.. And i don't want to raise anyones hopes.. But there's a scruffy white akita in my City's pound as a stray. She's approx. 3 years old? Cream and white coloured. Anyway, here's the link http://rainrescue.co.uk/Rain_Rescue/Sheffield_Strays/Entries/2010/12/18_6260_-_Loving_husky_akita.html

Hi Leslie
Glad you followed the lead for KE. I noticed she was living with a Donna Evans and so did a search and found a Donna Evans working at the Hornchurch animal rescue and they had an Akita there and thought bingo! but unfortunately you said it wasnt her.. so sorry, feel i'm getting your hopes up and then nothing.. I wont stop looking though Nikki
Leslie
Hi everyone. I haven't posted for a while although I do log on regularly and read the posts as well as looking out for other missing dogs.

I have been in contact with Nikki regarding Kelly Evans and I am investigating this thoroughly but this is an arduous process.

There is a possibility that Genie may not be alive as a dog was found on the M11 by the Highways Agency in December but they failed to check if this dog was chipped before destroying the remains. This is unbelievably heartbreaking and frustrating but it leaves this avenue unanswered. They were unable to confirm 100% whether the dog they found was Genie. What does give me hope is that a Kelly Evans did exist in North Weald. This would suggest that this woman truly did live in the area as she had said, and may indeed have a sister living locally.

I (we) will never give up on finding her. She remains a member of our family indefinitely.

Thanks for ALL the continued support.

My goodness! Does anyone know if Leslie has checked out the Kelly Evans in North Weald or any of these dogs? She seems to have gone AWOL. Anyone? This is too much to ignore.

Still not heard from Leslie. We need to strike while the iron's hot; we may still be able to get in this week's Star but after that, it may be too late. I am here to help if you need me.

Have you looked on the friends of akitas uk web site. There are lots of white dogs for rehoming might be worth checking to make sure she has not got further afield. They also have pictures of dogs rehomed. They cover other rescues and the pounds Def worth a look just in case.

Haven't heard from Leslie re possibility of The Star article; if we leave it too late it may not happen. So, today, I texted him on mobile number. Want to try and get Genie home. Kim

June from North Weald Life will kindly be adding Genie's details to their website and will feature Genie in the next edition of their magazine - thanks June!

This sounds a really good idea kimmybear! This man must be stopped in causing any further grief to others.Have retweeted Genie,s page and have put on my facebook.Although I live in Southend please let me know if there is anything I can do to help xxx

Me again. I've had a thought! Why don't we go to The Star and get them to do a story on this crook, which they would probably love to do, and this will get pictures of Genie and Oscar to the Harlow Star and this will reach a potential 80,000 people! Leslie, this will be free publicity for Genie! I am happy for you & Lucy to come to mine as the Star is in Harlow and less than a mile away from me. I am sure they would do this. This crook will be publicised and be too scared to do it agaain, at least round here for a while, and we could ask the police for comments i.e. we are investigating. It may well be a great thing to do. Not only it could stop the idiot, it could bring Genie and Oscar's plight to 80,000 people! (For free!). I am happy to co-ordinate this, if you like. I think we should e-mail each other on this. Oh, I'm all fired up now! Secondly, the police came back to us saying they have "Intelligence" on the case, but I haven't got an incident number - need to get that. Kim x

Thank you, Jo. I haven't got an incident no. yet, but I'll see what happens. I will e-mail you. You know I remember Netty saying that it was a traveller that did this to Willow's mum. SO we know of at least 4 definite instances and my Cassie's could have been another. We MUST try and stop him. The police did a swoop recently at the local site (well, a few months ago) and found a lost dog, so they DO take action at times with travellers. If we all report it, then they may think better next time, especially if they get fined. We just, maybe, save another desperate owner from going through this. You never know. Leslie and Lucy, we all foiled his chances last weekend anyway! Keep going regardless, one day you could get the REAL call. Hang in there. Luv Kim x
Jo - Area Co-ordinator, Essex
Sorry I've not picked up on these posts sooner. As Kim has said this isn't the first time this has happened, and no doubt won't be the last whilst this 'person' tries his luck preying on dog owners at a time of despair and desperation......oh and what a coincidence (not) its always Harlow. I have a phone box number from when they did exactly the same to ANOTHER owner (not Willow's owner) bet its the same number as the one you were called from Leslie - I'll email you. I was going to suggest notifying the police of these very frequent and recent calls, so glad you've done this Kim, well done. If they give you an incident or report ref number, may be worth letting Lucy and Leslie know this too via email so if they wish to report to the police, which would be advisable, if nothing more to help build up a history of such events in preparation for any future action....Kim email it to me if you don't have both emails and I'll pass it on. Hi Kim, thanks for phoning the police. I won't go into to much detail but we know that this man is a traveller so I very much doubt the police will do anything about it. I just wanted 2 make Leslie aware that the same thing had happened to us and try to prevent the same thing happening to anyone else.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Okay, I spoke to police. They have made a report and will come back to me, hopefully, and speak to my friend who took the call. Your input, both Leslie and Lucy, will help tremendousley to catch this crook! Just give police a call on 01279 641212. Three calls will mean they have to try! I doubt we are the first - it may have been him who took that money from poor Willow's mum. Thanks, KimLast edited: 2011-03-04 15:15:56 by Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders

Lucy, I think we all need to let the police know. Lesile, you mentioned you reported it to a police car. I think all three of us need to do this now. With both your sightings, this man could be caught. I'm phoning the police now to advise what I know. Kim x

Hi Leslie, I haven't mentioned this before but wish I had now as it may have made u aware of this man. We also had the same man call us the weekend before last saying he had Oscar. Exactly the same situation, he wanted half the reward money first and then would tie him up and we would have to leave the rest of the money where he had left the dog. He wanted us to leave the money in the same place as he did u at the back of the newsagents near Latton Common and we also saw a man walking away wearing the same as u described this man to be wearing. It's definately the same man! People really need to be made aware of this man as he is obviously praying on us vulnerable people who have lost our dogs. These people make me sick! They don't care about anyone's feelings, all they want is money. I'm so sorry u also had 2 go though this horrible situation.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Hi, Leslie this type of thing does happen. I know its horrible, but you absolutely did the right thing! Last year, the owner of another lost dog on this sight left a lot of money by a tree (almost exactly as you have described) and of course, they didn't have her dog. They know we love our dogs and we'll do anything for them, so this often works. You did right thing - wait until you see the dog and then exchange at the same time. It will ensure the dog's safety too. What is even more interesting is that we received a call from a man at the weekend saying he had seen my dog on Harlow Common. (I thought all the posters were down, so I didn't understand that) but when he was told my dog was actually dead he hung up. My friend actually took this call on my behalf. My precious Cassie was killed by a train over a year ago. I have actually had a few contacts from nice people over the past year, thinking they have seen my Cassie, they have kindly remembered us, but this one may have been different - he hung up too quickly, my friend said. Same man?? Who knows? There are some horrible people out there - but he got caught out! Well done. Hopefully, one day you will get the real call and Genie will be at the other end. Just remember that many dogs have been reunited, even years later! But let's hope it doesn't take Genie that long to get back to you. Always keep her in your heart, never give up hope and keep up the good work. If you need help, we are out here! Just ask. Hi abbeyjune,

Unfortunately the woman that sent me the emails has not broken the law. She stated within her emails that she intends to return Genie, so unless she states she won't she hasn't broken the law. The law states that a person is guilty of theft if he dishonestly appropriates property belonging to another with the intention of permanently depriving the other of it.

If someone sees her with Genie she can make up an excuse as to why she hasn't returned it but it would not be theft under the Theft Act 1968 because she has stated that she intends on doing so. Bummer
abbeyjune
Am so sorry that you had another numbskull cross your path.Move forward and pity the man who is obviously disfunctional.Did you get any feedback from the police regarding e mail contact? Still thinking of you x

Leslie I stand by my message that I left on 31/1/11 at 15.30. Now I would add please dont go anywhere on your own or take chances with these unknowns. Make maximum noise in a busy place and try and get maximum publicity.
Leslie
Why do people prey on those most vulnerable?

Today I received a call from a guy in Harlow telling me that he had found my dog Genie near Harlow common. He called at 11:30am but I was not able to get to Harlow until 1pm so he said he would call me back at this time. He had called me from a pay phone so I was able to call home back but he didn't want to give me his mobile number because he said he had been falsely accused of things in the past and didn't want to be accused of stealing her. He asked if a reward was available? I informed him that if this was my Genie and she was safe and well he would receive a reward, but this would be payable once my vet had checked her out and confirmed this was my dog. He seemed agreeable.

At 12:45pm I made my way towards Harlow where he said he found Genie and I waited for his call. At 12:55pm the guy called me back and directed me to where he wanted us to meet near Latton common in Harlow. He was very reluctant for me to see his face and wanted to leave Genie tied up near a bowling green place (actually it was the Royal British Legion place).  He then asked if I could let him half of the £250 reward money. I informed him that I don't carry that sort of cash about but had £20 I could give him for his trouble and the balance payable as agreed. I told him that once I had collected Genie from where she was tied up, I would leave the money around the rear of a newsagents. He agreed.

However, after 10 minutes he called me back and said that he looked for the money and it wasn't there. I told him that this was NOT what we agreed. I said that once Genie was in the back of my car I would then go and leave the money. I told him that he could just as easily take the money and I would never hear or see him again. He reassured me that his intentions were only to have the dog returned to me and that if he wanted to rip me off he would have insisted on half or more of the reward. Reluctantly, I agreed.

I pretended to leave the £20 at the rear of the newsagent and waited in and around the area. I then saw a rather scruffy young white guy with blue jeans, black bomber jacket with a hood walking towards the rear. As soon as he saw me he hid from my direct view behind a large container. I gingerly walked towards him and asked him if he truly had my dog. As I suspected but couldn't have been sure he then took off. Of course, no site of my dog to be seen. I saw a Police patrol car and gave them a description of the guy and his real intentions and they said they would look out for him. I also gave them a few Genie missing posters.

I have realised that dog lovers are easy prey for those wishing to lead us on a wild goose chase or deceptively attempt to extort money from us. Please be aware. I would NOT recommend anyone to do what I did, as it could have been far worse, and if it had not been daylight and if there were less people around I wouldn't have thought about it. We love our dogs...but con artists love our vulnerability even more.

Be very careful.
Leslie
Hi LucyL...

Saw your Oscar posters and will keep a sharp lookout for you. I truly know what you are going through. x
Capote
What a despicable person I am so sorry you have had to go through this on top of the distress you have already been through. Contact the police and show them the emails also the NPR explain what has happened if the contact was routed from them they must keep records, it may be a cruel hoax or someone selfishly wanting to keep Genie. Will local paper run story. Genie is so distinctive heavily postering or handing out flyers in the area she was picked up and emailing all vets in a large radius may draw attention. I can't get over the cruelty of some people. Take care we are all thinking of you
LucyL
Hi Leslie, so sorry 2 read ur story about Genie. Our dog Oscar is also missing at the moment from CM17 just outside of Harlow so I know exactly what ur going through right now and how awful and devastating it is. Never give up hope. x

Sometimes people get a concience and it could be that "she" wants to give Genie back, but maybe her partner doesn't and found out and stopped this. You just never know what goes on behind the scenes. I would definitley try and check this out a lot further. It could be nothing, but it does seem strange and for what reason? There COULD be a link, just as B&B's Mum said. Don't get your hopes up just yet, but it may explain why no one's seen Genie - she's being kept by someone. I strongly suspect that Genie is with someone - a dog like her would not go unmissed. Why not poster around the areas near that London station, or even near all the stations along central line? A dog can easily be taken by train from where you are into London. Do not give up, I think she's out there waiting for you, somewhere. We just need to figure out where! You are doing well, keep going. Bless you. x Last edited: 2011-02-22 13:28:41 by Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders

I really feel for you. This is awful.Have put on Facebook and Twitter.Someone knows this person and your dog is very distinctive. Can the police not trace this E mail address? Yahoo would surely have further contact details. This is,after all, theft and a criminal offence. Will continue to help in any way I can think of.Stay strong xxx
Bess 'n' Barney's Mum
I might be completely wrong here, and the last thing I want is to cause any further distress to Leslie, but to me it sounds like this person quite possibly does have Genie and doesn't want to give her up. She sounds to me like she knows she should; she (in her eyes) has tried to make you feel better by knowing that Genie is being looked after and isn't still out there. The significant bit is in asking that your daughter be at the meeting place as it would make her give her back. I think she has not turned up because she just can't face giving her up. And that's why she's not replying to your emails. This is how I read it, but as I say I could be wrong. Be safe, lovely Genie.
Unknown
Some people are very strange. Can't really see what the pupose of all that was, escept to waste your time hanging around stations and phoning vets, plus making you very upset.

If this person is reading this and thinks it is funny, then it is NOT. Either return the dog or leave her alone.

Their is another thought that came to my mind but I will not even mention it.
Jo - Area Co-ordinator, Essex
Oh how awful for you - as if its not bad enough to have had no news on Genie, to then have someone do this to you. Will have a look around see if can find anything linked to that name/email.

Bumped up Genie's page to alert others to this 'person'. OWNERS OF MISSING DOGS, PLEASE BE AWARE OF LESLIE'S LAST TWO POSTINGS AND THE CONTACT SHE HAS HAD FROM A 'KELLY EVANS' CLAIMING SHE HAS HER DOG.....JUST INCASE KELLY MAKES CONTACT WITH ANYONE ELSE TOO.
Leslie
I forgot to mention that in another email she said that the VET was a friend and when she used some sort of universal reader it did not reveal any microchip. Whether or not this was true is doubtful especially after what I know now and the fact that they didn't show up.
Leslie
I NOW GOING TO TELL AND WARN YOU ALL OF A VERY UPSETTING AND MISERABLE WEEK I HAVE HAD.

I was recently contacted by a person calling themselves Kelly Evans having seen my missing dog description on National Pet Register (NPR) Him/Her message was routed from NPR email facility.

The initial email was merely an enquiry as to whether my dog (Genie) a White Japanese Akita was still missing as she had recently acquired an Akita fitting my dog's description. He/She wanted to confirm whether or not the dog had sustained an injury prior to being missing as this dog was found with an injury caused by a twig or branch. She originally said that she took the dog to a vet but did not give me any further details as to which vet and in what area. She also said that she had told the vet the dogs was hers to avert any suspicion. He/She said they found the dog on Wellington Road outside he/she sisters house which is about 2 minutes from where Genie went missing. I surveyed the area knocking on every door on Wellington road asking if anyone knew of a Kelly Evans but to no avail.

Of course, I found her emails to be slightly odd but it sounded to me like she had possession of my dog. Despite me requesting that she call me urgently to discuss the matter she did not do so. She said that she was in between properties at the moment and was living in a caravan (Winnebago) and her access to the internet was limited so she had to make use of an internet cafe. After 2 or 3 more emails she confirmed that the dog must be my dog because it responded to its name. She said that she had grown fond of the dog but agreed to meet me at 11am Saturday morning at Angel underground station in North London. Although this is about 1 hour from where we live I agreed because of the eagerness to have my dog returned.

In another email I had mentioned that my 11 year old daughter was devastated at losing our dog having previously losing our last dog in a road traffic accident after it escaped from our garden. To ease her mind of having to return the dog she asked if I would bring my daughter with me as it would make it easier for her to return her. She said that she would be bringing her sister for support.

As a safeguard I decided against telling my daughter about any of this to avoid any possible disappointment. Instead I took a friend along with me just in case. We arrived at Angel station early just in case. We waited for 2 hours but she never arrived. In fact despite me sending a few more emails I have not heard from this person again.

I am so devastated that someone would play with my emotions in this way whether they have Genie or not. Despite this person NOT asking for money in any of his/her emails the pain is no less. I would like to know how if possible I can try to trace this person? His/Her email address is k.evans12@yahoo.co.uk and judging by some of the times that emails were sent (i.e. 22:34) it seems unlikely although not impossible that someone would leave their home to visit an internet cafe at this time. Any guidance or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Leslie
A woman contacted me on Friday having seen our missing notification on the National Pet Register. She said that in mid December she found a White Akita fitting the description of Genie. The dog had been injured and she took it to a vets (she didn't say which) to be treated. A twig had pierced her skin by an inch. She told the vets that the dog was hers. She then took the dog home to recover. She says that she has had the dog since then. She told me where she found the dog and it is about 1 minute by car from where Genie went missing. She also said her sister lived on the road that she was found. She said she was in between properties at the moment so was living in a Winnebago. I have since surveyed the area looking for the sister to no avail and made contact with several vets. The woman says she doesn't have internet access so is unable to view emails asap. I gave her my number but as of today she hasn't made contact with me. She did ask some questions as to whether or not Genie was hurt prior to her disappearance but I await her response. I just wanted to keep everyone updated. Will post if I hear more

I'm so sorry genie isn't home yet I will keep circulating posters and flyers at dog training and on walks for you
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
There was a dognapper in or around the Epping area two years ago. The reason the owner got her back, was for the reward. It was a cloak and dagger affair and the white dog was dyed black so as to be unrecognisable to the poster. You may want to amend your reward and poster all over Epping way. You don't always need to say how much money you can give, just make it sound a lot, so they are curious enough to find out. If you get a call make it known it is only payable on information leading to her safe return and only when you are reunited with her. Sometimes gypsies phone and make out they've got your dog & get you to leave money someplace and the dog never materialises. Always see the dog first! They know we love our dogs and will leave money in the hope they have her, but by making sure they have her first, you are helping to keep her safe in the long run. No dog, no money, if you see what I mean? If you love each other - that will never end, no matter where she is, you are bonded together forever in your love. Send her loving thoughts - there is much to be said for the power of thought. Keep searching, you are doing everything right. God bless you. Kim x

I've just follwed the map and it's possible that that gentlemen did see her, she could now be in CM16 and be living with someone. I am not sure how much of Epping you have postered or if you managed to put ad in the paper for that area but also the train track does run through that area - sorry just trying to think of different possibilities.

I really wish I could help you and even find out where she is and go and get her back but unfortunately I don't. Sometimes dogs are reunited with their owners weeks or months later as as happened a couple of times recently. Although I have never been is this situation I think after talking to someone who has also lost his dog it is the not knowing. Please do not give up hope and just keep spreading the word as much as you can. We are all on here to offer support if you need it. Liz xx

Hello Leslie I have picked up on your plea for Genie..I am so sorry she is not home yet. Perhaps its time to draw attention to your situation. If it were me and this would take some courage from you or another, I would stand in the busiest place I know where there is a lot of people and with a loud hailer I would let everyone know that Genie is missing. Get friends and family to stand with you and hand out missing dog leaflets as well. By doing this you might draw media attention...the press always love a good story. Other than that I would become a 'sandwich person' and walk round with large posters to the back and front of me. You must let everyone know that Genie is missing in what ever way you can.
Leslie
Missing our Genie - I wanted to take this opportunity to speak to the person or persons that must have our Genie. I think it's always easy to assume that once a dog goes missing after a period the owner just gets on with life without their dog and eventually replaces her with another dog. Well, that may be the case in many situations but not in this one. You see the difference is, Genie was a special dog unlike most dogs I've seen or met. From the very first day I collected her as a puppy she sat in the passenger seat curious to whom I was but not afraid. I reassured her that she would be loved and cared for and she would be going to a loving home. I told her to expect my 10 year old daughter to fawn over you but she too would love you. During the entire journey from just outside Birmingham to Essex she sat next to me seemingly contented. At one point she looked at me obviously wanting something. I could tell immediately from her demeanour that it was something specific. I stopped at a service station off the M1 and took her out of the car (our first walk). She walked over to a quiet spot and did her business. I couldn't believe how orderly she made the process. We continued our journey home and she seemed content with the knowledge that I would be her new master.

Once she'd met my daughter the love affair between all of us was complete. The 2 of them were like 2 kids playing together. Both knowing the others boundaries. The play fought all the time and never ever did Genie bark or bite. The joy she had brought into our life was beautiful and I can honestly say having had 2 other dogs previous to her that she was a special dog for us. She was house trained within a week. She would never do her business in our garden and would hold it until she reached a particular spot on our walks. I would walk Genie 3 times daily. My daughter would often love to walk her before going to school. She never barked at other dogs (she was only wary of men) but would only muster a grumble of curiosity. She adored other children and other women. Any child, no matter how young could stroke her without fear of her doing anything to them. She is a gentle soul and her presence had a calming influence on whomever she met. She is cuddly, soft and propably too affectionate which, is most likely why whomever has her would be reluctant to give her up. BUT YOU MUST...you have to. You see she is not your dog. Her home is here. You may have cared for her these past few weeks and grown fond of her which is understandable, but her heart and soul belongs with her real family. I appreciate the fact that you've cared for her and loved her is if she were yours...but she isn't yours...she ours, and we want her back, we need her back. She is the balance in my life, my morning walk, my afternoon wander and my evening escape to return again.

I won't be mad that you've had her but I would love her back now. So if you've been reading this thinking....oh, she's just another dog, you can just as easily get another. Well she isn't just another dog, she's my Genie and I miss her terribly, we've ALL missed her. So won't you please let her come back home? Last edited: 2011-02-01 08:30:30 by Leslie

Come on Genie, come back home sweetie! x
Capote
I'm so sorry Genie isn't home yet, I have only just seen she was missing. I will start postering and spreading the word at dog training tomorrow and Pishiobury park. Where in CM20 was she sighted? I live in CM18 but can cover a wider area. Will tell friends in Waltham Abbey and Epping and also Harlow black cab drivers that I know to keep an eye out when driving around in case of sightings. Thinking of you

I will alert owners re posts about keiko although I think that owners have already check her out......but will of course make sure that is the case. Thank you. x

I agree too! Epping and Hornchurch are not too far from each other..
Good Luck!

I agree with SuzeeBee - I think this abandoned dog should be checked out as it has an amazing similarity to Genie. Wouldn't it be fabulous if it was her!
SuzeeBee
There is a white female Akita at http://www.hornchurchpetservices.co.uk/3.html she has been named Keiko and was found abandoned. Please check fingers and paws crossed x

Keeping my eyes out in Harlow and around Park Mead as you never know. Leslie, do you think the "white wolf" could have been Genie? Does it sound possible to you? I know anything is possible, believe me, but what are your thoughts? A beautiful dog, such as Genie could be with someone who doesn't want to give her up, but with a lot of pressure mounting with posters etc; they could get panicky and let her go. So keep postering; don't give up. She is out there somewhere. If anything had happened to her, I am sure someone would have noticed and you would have heard. Either, as Jotty said, she could be managing quite well on her own, or we need to keep up the pressure. Have you thought of a newspaper advert or even better and cheaper - tried to get an article in the local press? Some papers don't want to know, but some need a story and that would be a great way to get attention! Keep going & good luck. You are not alone. x

Hi Netty-B, thank you for your support. If you could put up some posters in that area that would be helpful. Pubs, clubs etc. Thx.
Leslie
Hi Jo (@Doglost) Did the scenting thing and still hoping.
Netty-B
I am sorry to see that Genie is still missing, i live near the stow in Harlow and will keep a look out for her. Anything i can do to help just ask. Annette.xx

Sorry to hear Genie is not home yet, but the possible sightings are testament to your hard work and postering and of course everyone is doing a great job of spreading the word.

It could be that she is on the loose still and living in the forestation - would be plenty of good hiding places and shelter there so she could just be lying low. I will email you some scenting guidelines that may help you if she is living out still and having her own little adventure - whilst her family are having a nightmare.
Leslie
Thank you MEGGA. We went door knocking delivering posters in that area on Boxing day and the day after so your help is not without appreciation. X

Hi tangoandcash, I haven't tried the RSPCA in Waltham Abbey yet..but I will do so first thing in the morning. Our hopes were raised slightly yesterday when we told that Genie may have been with a pet rescue centre in Kent. Unfortunately and to my utter disappointment it turned out to be another Akita, similar to ours but much older. Fortunately I hadn't told my daughter beforehand so only my hopes were dashed. As the snow has disappeared we hope that she becomes more noticeable if she is still stray. Otherwise the only conclusions is that someone has her or she has befallen some accident only yet to be discovered. My hope is that someone kind has her for now until they realise that she is ours. The support and encouragement from do-gooders is overwhelming. I called a centre on the outskirts of Essex only to be told that they had already been informed of her. That's so wonderful. I pray we get her back.
tangoandcash
Have you tried the RSPCA in Waltham abbey as most dog wardens are not back to work until the 3rd of January and i know the dog warden is for this rescue and also our dog warden who covers uttlesford chances are she might be being held there until the 3rd and also local vets as there are also stray dogs being kept there until the dog wardens are back to work i've posted up on Facebook and got posters printed of to take to the rescue i work at fingers x she will be home soon .
MEGGA
leslie i work near the hospital early hours of the mornings ive asked drivers at work to keep eyes peeled
Leslie
In response to kimmybear: Our dog was supposedly spotted near a development called Park Mead which, is not far from Princess Alexander Hospital. There is a field (forestation) opposite and she was spotted there by a man walking his dog on Christmas eve.
MEGGA
poor girl wish someone nice would see her and get her back to this family i work early mornings in harlow so ive been keeping eyes peeled to and from work

I've been on crutches and not able to get out much and Netty has been helping me walk Misty, but I will definitely keep my eyes open in Harlow. Do you know whereabouts this man's mother lived in Harlow? I could try and keep a lookout that way. It is not Christmas when a loved one is missing. You never know which sightings are your baby and which are not, but one of them will be, so never give up! Poster everything you can, everywhere you can. People do remember posters. Hang in there, with love, Kim x
Leslie
Had a phone call on Christmas eve from a guy whose Mother said she spotted a white wolf near her home. He correctly told her that there are NO white wolfs in the UK. Anyway, he had seen a poster in the Sainsbury's supermarket in Harlow, Essex and thought it might be Genie. We headed on down to CM20 to investigate. We also took some more posters with us to distribute. Whilst knocking on doors nearby where she was spotted a gentleman said he thinks he may have seen her this morning when he was walking his dog. Once again she was unaccompanied. We stayed in the area for 4 hours to no avail but we did visit the local vets and spoke to the dog warden covering Harlow and made him aware. This has been a very sad Christmas for us especially my 11 year old daughter. Our search continues.
Leslie
Went out on Sunday evening locally, to give out more posters. Then received a call from someone that claimed to have spotted her on Friday evening (17th) walking unaccompanied towards Epping going under the M11 fly-over. Don't know whether this was a genuine sighting or not but the guy sounded very helpful. He was on his way back from work at the time. He wasn't in when we delivered the posters but saw it on his return. We are still hopeful of getting our baby back. Thank you everyone for your continued support. We truly appreciate your efforts.
