- Other Info wearing a tan leather collar with a silver ID tag.We know he was a working dog on an estate near Oxton, Scottish Borders before he came to us through Borders Animal Welfare a couple of months ago. He’s very friendly and wouldn’t be aggressive if approached, more likely to roll over or look to be petted. We’ve heard nothing since his disappearance and welcome any additional coverage.

THE RAINBOW BRIDGE
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colours. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water and warm Spring weather. The old frail animals are young again. They play all day with each other. There is only one thing missing, they are not with their special person who loved them so much on Earth.
Each day they all run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches! The ears rise up! The eyes are staring! Then suddenly, this one runs from the group! You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her into your arms and you both embrace. Your face is licked again and again and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separate

- So very sorry to report that Rolo's body has been found. It seems he may have gone into the river. He was found not that far away from where he went missing, by a walker. How very sad. God bless and keep you Rolo. xx

Thanks Linda,
Everything you've suggested we've been doing and we have our own flier/ poster out and about. With the weather conditions as severe as they are at the moment it's hard to remain positive and it's also preventing us from getting back to the site where he went missing, but we know there are a lot of people (friends, colleagues and complete strangers) who have been out searching. We're keeping up the awareness with a fresh appeal on radio and there's a notice in the Southern Reporter newspaper today.
We are lucky in that here in the Borders it's a tight knit community and word travels fast. We've canvassed a lot of people and all the shelters are aware both down here and up in Edinburgh. He came to us from Borders Animal Welfare in Earlston and they've been a tower of support too.
Thanks again,
Kirsty
